I've used the Honeywell t-stat's from Lowes for Home Depot for years. They have various versions for different systems with different options. They've always been pretty easy to install. http://yourhome.honeywell.com/home/products/thermostats/

Yep... he looks like he got taked to the ground and disarmed. Several times.

Welcome!

Then the "aux" mode is running the heating elements to help the heat pump. The "emergency" mode is only the heating elements. The unit consumes a lot of electricity in either mode. Tennessee is about as far north as you'll see heat pumps. The latest and greatest heat pumps can run relatively efficiently down to about 30 deg, while a older unit might only work to 40 deg. Below that they just don't work real well, particularly if the house isn't exceptionally well insulated.

State Farm may not just "cut you a check". They may only give you a portion of the money now and only pay the rest after you provide a receipt showing the car got fixed. That's what they did when my house got storm damage.

I don't disagree, but you're comparing apples and chainsaws. Yes, turbine blades are cast but so is every other metal part in existence. All metals start out as a casting. Some parts (like turbine blades) are cast in a very specific way to yield very specific properties for a very specific purpose. Other parts go through a wide variety of processes between casting and finished product (like extruding and forging mentioned above) that have huge effect on the end result. It's nothing like making MIM parts or sintered powdered metal parts, other than it involves metal.
-
Interesting. I'll be curious to see some other reviews.

Ok, a little reading tells me that yes, there are some rotating parts made from powdered metal. But, they're processed very differently from the typical MIM or sintered parts you'd find in things like cars or guns. https://www.atimetals.com/businesses/powdermetals/markets/Pages/Aerospace.aspx

Jet engines.... you sure about that? I work on them daily and have never seen an MIM part in any sort of structural application.

Not legally no. Deadly force is only permitted when defending life, not property. If the BG's are stealing your car and leaving you alone, you're obliged to let them. That said... this happened inside a gated parking lot? Do they have cameras?

Yep, it'll work. It may not keep the far end of the house toasty warm, but your central heat will run less often and you'll benefit from cleaner air and slightly higher humidity in the house. Check your air filter at least monthly.... it'll clog up mush faster with the fan running all the time. Depending on the layout of your house, running the fan 24/7 may help reduce your energy usage year round.

I agree. 3500lb cars with 800hp on hard, skinny tires in the rain would be exceeding entertaining.... for the first lap. Then half as entertaining on the 2nd lap... then half again as entertaining on the 3rd lap. Then really boring watching the 2 or 3 guys that know how to drive in the rain putt around. But seriously... I've always been of the notion that racing was intended to improve the breed. It's a way to test new things and push the boundaries, figure out what works and what doesn't. Nascar was like that up until the late 80's. Now, it's got very little to do with racing and everything to do with entertainment. The cars are this bizarre mix of technology from 1940 and today. I just don't get that.

I'm not a reloader, but I assumed the standard practice for reloading mosin ammo was to pull the bullet, dump the powder, and replace both with the items du jour.

So they got a 2nd loan to pay the interest on the 1st loan. Nice long term business plan.

We used frontline for years until the price got silly. Switched to the Hartz brand at walmart a couple years ago and it seems to work fine. The dog is out pretty much all day when it's nice and comes in at night. She also gets bathed roughly monthly.

Agreed. Liar, Liar is still one of my favorite movies. As someone said previous, sometimes it good to turn your brain off and just laugh. Sure, Carrey is a political wacko. Name a Hollywood A-lister that isn't. If that's how you decide which movies you like, you probably don't like any movies. Think about it this way... if you had all the money in the world and could afford to say and do anything you like, lots of people would probably think you're strange too. On a completely unrelated note... took the kids to the "Big Hero" movie on Sunday. During the previews, I was thrilled to see Radio Shack has chosen Weird Al as their spokesman. It took a long time, but Radio Shack has finally realized who their customers really are. :)

Having been a band geek all through school, I learned that the sounds that comes from the instrument is 90% player, 10% instrument. Can a super quality instrument make a superb player sound that little bit better? Absolutely yes. If you give that same instrument to a hack like me, I'll still sound like a hack. My experience with the accuracy of guns is similar. However, I still find the "tolerances no CNC machine can match" line in the Les Baer commercials quite amusing, mostly because it's complete nonsense.

Unfortunately all that technology requires capital investment. With a $250M debt hanging over the company and a current inability to make the interest payment, that's not going to happen. Bankruptcy followed by restructuring might be the best solution at this point.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Hope they've got their arms around this soon enough for a speedy recovery.

I completely lost respect for and interest in nascar during the fallout from Dale Sr.'s death. Now that they're fighting in the pits again (which tells me they care more about winning than sponsor money and image), color me curious.

Bargain 3.5" folding knife for <$5
peejman replied to cybernorris's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Here's my $0.02... Generally bigger and heavier than I expected. Not razor sharp, but sharp enough for most things. I haven't tried to sharpen it. The flipper doesn't do much other than open it about 1/2" so it does need to be pushed open. Might loosen up with use, and maybe I'm used to my Kershaw. Fasteners seem good enough and the blade is centered in the body pretty well. Looks to be completely metal. All in all, a perfectly fine knife to be used and abused or tossed in a toolbox. $5 well spent. -

Had to go to walmart this afternoon anyway, so I picked up a couple. As stated, it's hard to go wrong for $5. -
Cleaning smoke smell out of house (wall cleaning solution)
peejman replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
I think I'm about to have to do this in my kids bathroom. The whole room smells like pee and it's driving me crazy! -
Only our government could come up with something so confusing and stupid.
