  1. I'd ask for more detail regarding the exact nature and extent of the damage. I'd also ask for a suspected cause and how to avoid future issues.
  2.     Which means that while you can still be fired for violating your employer's policy, you can then sue them for firing you because what you did was legal.  Case law will on this will be interesting to determine whether an employer can enforce a policy that prohibits an otherwise legal activity.    What also comes to mind is things like life insurance policies with clauses that exclude coverage for specific "dangerous" activities such as skydiving.
  3. Wow.  Love how the skinny kid spends the whole time running his mouth while backing up, then immediately jumps in a gets a few worthless cheap shots right after the first impact.  Think they'll press charges?
  4.     There's an inside joke one that topic for me personally....     I'm a mechanical engineer.  As you might guess, there's a bit of rivalry between the various disciplines within engineering.  There is a bathroom in the basement of the ME building at school.  There was a note written over the toilet paper dispenser in one of the stalls that read "EE degree.  Free, take one."   So anytime we were working and needed a potty break, the term was "I'm gonna go get my EE degree."    So there's your nerdy toilet humor for the day.

    Engine ideas

Buy a wrecked late model chevy anything with the 5.3.  Swap the whole thing over (engine, trans, computer, ...)
  6.     Yep.  I've told my wife this repeatedly.   Don't stop unless you're sure.  I'd much rather deal with an annoyed cop than the alternative.      As for the subject cop... He's in for a world of hurt.
  7. So their EE is our TP?
  8. :(   That stinks. Loved that show and he was my favorite character.
  9. That's a good perspective (for me, at least). And that's a darn big pocket knife, much larger than the Kershaw I normally carry.
  10. http://www.southernohiogun.com/longguns/surplus-longguns/russian-mn91-30-762x54.html
  11. I think it took about a month to get my older boy's lifetime license and only 2 weeks for the younger one.
  12. Because the benefactor membership gives you the option of uploading pics only in the trading post. You have to have some sort of hosting service to post pics everywhere else. If you're interested in smugmug, I can send you a discount code.
  13. We saw a flock of at least 20 of them with 3 toms in full strut next to the road on the way to lunch the other day.  There was a pawn shop just down the street.  We wondered if it would be suspicious if we ran into the pawn shop and said, "I need a shotgun, quick!"
  14. Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife.      For better or worse... the "worse" can really suck sometimes.  Hang in there.
  15.     Yep, they'll be fine as long as it drains reasonably.  Put some pine straw or similar on top of it to help prevent it washing if it rains hard.     I've done exactly nothing.  I've had ideas of renting a tiller at various times over the last 3 weeks but life or the weather keeps getting in the way.  Maybe next week....
  16.     Thank you for using the proper term.
  17. Don't know how you guys can read the speedo with the key in the way and factory speedo's are notoriously inaccurate at higher speeds. ... but yes, it's fast.  Got a nice growl too.  A coworker is working on a deal to get one for land speed racing (he currently holds a couple records).
  18. Sorry for your loss.  He sounds like a great man.
  19. I've got 2 cases of TOTM's and three 7 gallon jugs of water which could be transported relatively easily.  I suppose I could dump most of what's in the pantry in a couple boxes and haul that too.  That said, I don't intend to go anywhere unless I have to.
  20. Stupid hurts.
  21. I also can't really carry a fixed blade at work so my edc is a kershaw cryo, the smaller one. I really like it. It gets shaving sharp and holds an edge really well. I also think the flipper is neat. It's the right size and does everything I want it to. I've had no trouble from the clip.
  22.     Not bad for less than a fill-up, eh?
  23. That's some good stuff! We took my kids fishing at the beach for the first time a few years ago. My little one caught this redfish on that tiny little rod with 4lb line, a hook, and a bobber. It weighed nearly as much as him. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to keep it, but the kids had a blast. We're planning to go to St. George in the fall. If you happen to know, what are the fishing regs there and are there any good spots?
  24. Set the fan (air handler) to "on" so it runs 24/7. That will keep the air moving which will equalize the temps through the house and prevent the system from cycling so frequently. The power required to run the fan 24/7 will likely be more than offset by the reduced cycling of the system. Net = your electric bill should get smaller.
