  1.     WD-40's best use is as a solvent.  I use it to clean the chain on my motorcycle.  Spray it down and let it soak for a minute, then wipe until it's clean.  Takes less than 10 minutes and I've never had my chain get rusty.
  2. Ok, maybe it's a SBR. It's a tax stamp regardless.
  3. "the time of year when humidity is high".... Like not January or February? ;) The WD-40 Corrosion Specialist is different from regular WD-40. And I found some recently at Lowes. It was something like $10 for a smallish can, but I got one anyway.
  4.     Just run it like a Russian would.... whack the crap out of it.  Mine's actually really smooth.   And just to be clear... that's an NFA item.  It's either a DD or AOW, I forget which.
  5. Pfffft. Amateurs.
  6.     That smells of an excuse for a "head count reduction".  I've lived through my share of those, and they suck.
  7. Wow, that really sucks.  In Kentucky of all places too.  Hopefully this will lead to something better.
  8. Bump... this coming weekend.  Lots of good stuff has been donated for the silent auction.    http://standtogethertn.com/index.php/silent-auction/   Bring a few friends and come say howdy for a good cause.    https://www.facebook.com/StandTogetherTN
  9. A well defined and rehearsed plan.     I've got modest amounts of food, water, medical supplies (for minor stuff, major trauma would be a big problem), ammo... etc.  If communications go down, getting my family back together might be a problem.  I would assume my wife would default to meeting back at home, but we'd have to collect the kids.
  10.     Hey, Mythbusters proved it's possible to polish a turd....  http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/polishing-a-turd-minimyth/     But I doubt even that would help a Glock.  :)
  11. I think I know where he's talking about and it is neither a federal facility nor a power utility.    Ask your employer.  If you're a contract employee, read the entire contract very carefully and ask questions of the contracting company.    While the law says you can, your employer likely says we can fire you at any time for any reason.  Violation of company policy is a good reason to get fired.  To date there's no case law to help guide the decision of then suing your former employer for wrongful termination (which the law now states you specifically can do) for doing something that's legal.  I wouldn't want to be the first to test those waters.  YMMV.
  12.     My wife and I came to an an understanding fairly early on.... the lid is always closed.  That way, we both always have to open/close something.
  13. No limit that I'm aware of, but I haven't dug real deep through the TCA on it.
  14.     Yep.  Ask the eye doc about Z87 certified lenses.  They will probably come with some really lame looking frames and side shields, but they're usually fairly cheap.  Regular polycarbonate lenses and Z87 certified lenses are not necessarily the same thing, especially if your prescription is fairly mild.
  15. Nice collection.    The pesky "check twice to make sure it's unloaded before you pull the trigger" strikes again.  Glad the muzzle was pointed in a good direction.
  16. At least you have a door. And actual walls. And a window. I've never had any of those.
  17. WASR or a Zastava. Early WASR's had some issues, but anything from the last 6-8 years is good.
  18. Give that the local, multi state title winning, school mascot is the rebels... I don't see it going away here any time soon.
  19.     Correct, none of the Yugo models have chrome lined barrels (Mauser, SKS, AK, etc.)  The former Yugoslavia doesn't have chromium ore deposits, hence no chrome plating.
  20. So you don't want a shooting sling, you want a carrying strap, right?   What size is the stud?  How is the gas block attached to the barrel?   Really though... I can't imagine you'd do any harm without doing something you already know you shouldn't do (like use it to tow your bug out trailer).
  21. I suspect they'll be along. A new thread titled "make me a holster" might work. ;) Else you could do a search for past threads. gjohnsoniv made a leather one for me, unfortunately he's the only one I can remember
  22. Get one of the holster makers here to make you one. There's several and they all do good work.
  23. Purdy!!
