  1.     Yes, LEO opinion is "evidence" in court, it's called a police report.  LEO testimony is considered "expert" testimony.   So when the LEO tells the judge (in person or writing) that you were impaired even though your BAC was only 0.06, you were impaired.  Who's the judge gonna believe, you or the LEO?    Hence the motivation to be nice, but not say too much when interacting.
  2.     You on ADV?  If not, check in here... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=880313&page=107
  3.     A solid answer about a law?
  4. Guess you'd better try harder next time.
  5. I've got an XT. I'd suggest soft bags. They're lighter, don't act as big sails empty or full, and they typically don't crack or break when you fall over. A simple tail or tank bag is plenty of space for anything other than several days travel. Hard bags tend to get put on and left there, then fill up with crap you don't need.
  6. Supposedly skunks make good pets once they've been de-scented. Smarter than dogs, though that isn't a great accomplishment.
  7. Just don't think about the number of Russian Navy nuclear reactors that are sitting at the bottom of the ocean, particularly the Barents Sea (which isn't especially deep).
  8.     How did you form your opinion of Obama?  Meet him in person and had a long chat?
  9.     Nope.    Wanna cry a little inside?  http://www.argunners.com/gallery-wwii-airplane-graveyard-in-pacific-ocean/
  10. Oooooh. Me likey.
  11. From what Google has found for me, this is the case. A formal "state of emergency " declaration might change things, but I don't think they can make you leave.
  12. A solar charger. A few more water containers. A better radio.
  13. Can you turn them? If not, they're fine.
  14. Do the feed lips expand on Pmags when they're left fully loaded for a long time? I know I've read that somewhere. That could cause the mags to be difficult to seat.
  15. A gun without a round in the chamber is an expensive hammer. Use a proper holster that covers the trigger and you have nothing to worry about.
  16. Indeed. I'd sit that one out.
  17. Not too sure about that drill where folks are shooting 90 deg to each other and then swapping positions with muzzles up. What's the story there?
  18. Sounds like you've answered your question correctly. Best of my knowledge, the law does not require that you inform the property owner. However, if the property owner asks that you not bring it and you do anyway, that is a violation.
  19. Think about the scenario of rescue workers pounding on your door at 1am. No injuries reported so far, good news.
  20. Wow. And think about how long the male cop had his back turned.
  21. Wow. Talk about the magic bullet... Good thing it didn't hit your hand, I bet that would've hurt.
  22. Oil level sight glass on the bike? Nice fix. Did it leak much oil out?
  23. Good grief. I can understand muttering a few choice words under one's breath, but a full on tirade? In front of (my) kids? Um, no.
  24. SKS all day long.
  25. Not too far from me, though thankfully we're still home. It's closer to my in-laws, haven't heard from them yet. Work is closed today. For us, a 24-48 hr evac would be more inconvenient than anything else. The evacuation area is relatively small. Ground and water contamination is going be an issue in the immediate vicinity.
