  1. I have Gold Dots in mine, but they've gotten hard(er) to find.  I'll probably switch to Critical Defense when I run out of Gold Dots.
  2. At least he didn't say it was in your jeans...
  3. Sounds like you need to have another conversation with this person and find out exactly what the requirements are and why.
  4. So IWB isn't allowed but concealment is required? Huh?
  5. 10 killed a friends laptop yesterday. No screen, no bios, nothing but a beep. Looks like the installation process cooked the motherboard.
  6. He better be careful. Marvin Gaye's family will probably sue him now....
  7. You should be able to get a nice K98 sniper for that. And that would be awesome. :)
  8. Since its that difficult to seat, I'd contact S&W and see what they have to say. When I bought my wife's, I manually dry fired and cycled the slide about 200 times before loading a single round. It's been flawless. Your 7 rd mag seems to have some sort of problem.
  9. Don't know about the empty mag thing, never tried that.  The full 7 rd mag takes a modest smack to get seated in my wife's 9mm.  Its really hard if you just push, but a whack with the butt of the hand seats it and it runs fine.
  10. What they said. K98's have always commanded the highest prices. I'd be suprised if you can find decent numbers matching one for under $500. The 24/47's are the bargain models. They're functionally the same and generally good shooters. I have a bolt not matching M48 that's in OK condition. It's a good shooter (and is a freakin' cannon). Cheap milsurp 8mm ammo is getting hard to find. Aftermarket stuff is $0.50 a shot, but I doubt you'll burn through it real fast.
  11. I think Gunny's offers a class. Else there's Frontier in Kingston and Tactical Advantage in Knoxville. Most classes are in the $50-$65 range, plus the $110 to the state.
  12. Ouch.
  13. So I'm guessing the pic in the OP happens when the arrow breaks at the moment of release and the bow drives the arrow stub into the support hand?
  14. April 24th, 2015.    https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150424/tennessee-park-carry-legislation-signed-into-law   Humongous thread here:  http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/86472-hb-0995sb-1171-parks/page-21
  15. I'd get one that plugs in.  I don't use mine a lot, but I've never had an instance where cordless would have been better.
  16. Don't all Dickson County schools have an American Flag flying on a flagpole in front of the school (and a TN state flag)?  Just like every other school I've seen?  Do they not recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning?
  17.     I interpret the above as "within 100 yds or without the owner's permission"  Given that the OP is the owner, I'd guess it's ok.  :)   A friend's Dad used to deer hunt from the kitchen table (during deer season).  They had a big field behind their house that always had deer in it.  When his wife would go to the grocery store on saturday mornings, he'd open the back door, set his rifle up on a bipod on the table, and if a deer wandered across while he was eating breakfast... BOOOM!   :)   My friend said he'd put the rifle away before she got back, but she could always smell the powder when she got home and would read him the riot act.  He'd just smile and say "yes dear".
  18. From what I'm reading, hunting either at night or over bait is a no-no.   http://www.state.tn.us/twra/huntweapons.html
  19.     The economy clearly isn't great.  It's better than it was 5 years ago but not 80% better, which is what the DOW has done.  So if it drops a whopping 30%, its still 50% higher than it was 5 years ago, which is about normal annual growth.
  20. Holy crap!  How did that happen?

    Dad Gift

Nice!  The sock won't hurt it at all.  All of mine are in socks to help prevent idiot marks.
  22. I'd just make sure the firing pin is loose.  If not and the pin isn't coming out easily, heat the bolt up to 150-180 deg and soak it in solvent.  I've never taken mine apart.  All I do is shoot some aerosol solvent in there and blast it with compressed air.
  23. My kids do that too. I think it's because the middle finger is both stronger and longer so it's easier to reach the trigger. In fact, here's evidence my little one uses 2 fingers... :D This was his first time shooting a real rifle.
  24. While eating my cereal at 6am this morning (3 hours before the market even opens), the headline read something to the effect of "investors brace for market plunge... DOW expected to fall 300 points."     :panic:       300 points is less than 2%.  Would most people even notice if the cost of a gallon of milk dropped $0.06?   And this after it's gone up about 80% in the last 5 years.   :drama:      Self-fulfilling prophesy?
