MrsMonkey and Dolomite'sWeezy: One for the ladies
peejman replied to Pete123's topic in Women's Perspectives
I'd say most any working class Russian woman in the 40's had "man hands" by modern standards. -
What type of purses are the ladies using?
peejman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
My wife has a non-carry purse with an internal zipper pocket. When she carries that way, that's the only thing in that pocket. Her Shield fits just fine in a pocket holster. Here's some others.... http://thewellarmedwoman.com -
They're selling them for scrap metal.

Just an observation about hunting and fishing licenses...
peejman replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Hunting and Fishing
There are fishing only licenses available.... https://www.tn.gov/twra/article/resident-fishing-license-j1 Not as all encompassing as the combo, but they're a lot cheaper. I'd assumed the combo was just a revenue generator for twra. As for the irony of requiring a license. I agree that it's not a right, and it's also a way to fund the management activities. -
I have a Jewish friend who we intentionally and repeatedly wish a Merry Christmas. Another guy he knows who owns a business put merry Christmas to him up on the business marquee. :D It's all in good fun, he's gives as much as he gets.

Seems like a good price for a spare BCG
peejman replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Do bolts really fail often (recreational shooting) enough to justify a spare? -
Depends on the intended use. If it's likely to get used hard in bad weather, plastic all the way. If you want something pretty, definitely wood.

Mom wants to limit firearm discharges in Knox Co.
peejman replied to greenego's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'll admit to having called the police to investigate some folks shooting near me a few years ago. But that was only after bullets hit my house and my neighbor found bullets in his driveway. According to the cop, the folks shooting thought a big pile of trees and brush was an acceptable backstop. He educated them and while they continue to shoot, it's never happened again. That said, if this lady doesn't like the rules in the county, she should move into the city. -
Virginia to end reciprocity with 25 states
peejman replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep, because all bad guys have carry permits and won't go there if we make their permit invalid. :shake: Morons. -
Since we're ranting.... Why can't you get a truck with manual transmission anymore? The only way to get one is to get an $80,000 diesel. Quite a few are offered globally with a stick, but not in North America.

It's cold and raining, so yes it's winter.

I thought I was tactical til I saw this!

mmmmm...... bacon. -
Cats don't like citrus. If they're eating house plants, sit a few lemon or orange wedges in the pot and they'll leave it alone. If you've got a cat door, you can spray it with lemon pledge when the cat is out and it won't come back in for a day or two. :)

For really stubborn dogs, the wireless version works better as it continues to zap them until they return. The wired version only zaps them when they're close to the wire. And +1 to the trencher. Tell the equipment rental folks what you're doing and they'll tell you which machine you need. I used a "landscape trencher" which only cut a narrow slit. It only took 30 mins to do my 1/2 acre.

Warm salt water gargle and flush sinuses 2-3x daily. Mucinex (store brand), Ibuprofen, and Flonase. Green tea with a squirt of lemon and shot of bourbon (my version of a hot toddy). Rest. Patience to wait it out.

Multiple HAZMAT casualties in Seacacus NJ Mall
peejman replied to CommsNBombs's topic in General Chat
They do. But it's difficult to distinguish from the ambient funk that is NJ. Or, all the union operators were already timed out this week. -
Who cares?

Good things the regulations are clear, concise, and easy to understand.... :surrender:

Multiple HAZMAT casualties in Seacacus NJ Mall
peejman replied to CommsNBombs's topic in General Chat
I bet it was a prank. There's all sorts of things that when released in the air can smell really, really bad. A friend did that to some guys down the hall in the college dorm... His brother had a devious mind, worked in a lab, and had access to all sorts of things. He'd occasionally send care packages with something interesting. One package contained a vial with whatever gives fecal matter it's smell and very specific instructions. There were two dickhead roommates down the hall. One evening, he squirted about 5ml of that stuff through their keyhole with a syringe. Those guys spent the next week yelling at each other over who smelled like sh!t. That weekend, they emptied their entire room (furniture and all) and spread it all out on the sidewalk (4th floor, no elevator), and cleaned everything top to bottom. It took them the whole weekend. And it didn't work. :) The smell did eventually subside after about a month, and thankfully it was contained to their room. They weren't such dickheads after that and moved out at the end of the semester. -
We've had the "bury the wire" version for years with great results. When inside a normal fence, our dog would dig. Like dig to China dig until she got out. Best advice I can give is do a lot of work training the dog. Couple times/day for the first week or two, then daily for another couple weeks. Figure out what the dog likes... be that food treats, affection, play, ... whatever. Do your walks around the perimeter and when the collar beeps and the dog backs up, provide generous rewards. Repeat. And yes, get the lightning protector. Lightning doesn't have to hit your house directly, anywhere nearby will zap it. Ours got hit twice before I got the protector (I'm a slow learner).
