  1. Friend of mine just got a 4" version.  Darn sweet pistol.  I've always thought the ergonomics in the XD  series was great.
  2. I agree on the timing, but I also think you'll know when it's the right time.  As for breeds... I'd think most any sort of working dog (or mixture thereof) would do fine.... boxer, doberman, cattle dog, plott, ...
  3. Congrats!  You have a beautiful daughter.  Parenthood changes everything.
  4. :usa:
  5. As they said, as long as its in the budget.  Otherwise...   "That?  Nah... I got that a couple years ago, why?"  ;)
  6. Options are always good. Perhaps your vehicle is disabled or hemmed in by traffic when things go sideways. To me, if it's not readily accessible from the driver's seat, it's not accessible.
  7. Welcome! And yes, let her pick her own.
  8. I'd be really surprised if you saw a wolf. Could have been one of those alleged wolf/dog hybrids that are fairly popular with the hill folk.
  9.     I had exactly the same thought when I saw this on the news this morning.  Shame to see such a talent go so early.
  10. If a couple BG's burst into a room where you're sitting around a table and start banging away with rifles.... honestly, you're pretty much f__ked.  It's up to God or fate or whatever you believe in to get you out of that one.    Awareness is about the only take-away I can come up with.  As I understand it, these folks were at a "holiday" (read Christmas) party and the Muslim guy in the office left pissed off (shock).  I get the impression no one in there would have ever dreamed he'd come back with a friend to kill them all.  Be aware where-ever you are.  Always know where the exits are.  Always know what might work as cover (which is pretty much nothing in a typical office building).   Maybe improving your draw/fire time is another take-away.  Seconds count.  Fractions of seconds count.
  11.     Given the prosecution filed the appeal, I'd say that's exactly the outcome they wanted.     I don't necessarily disagree with the statement above... he shot through a door and killed someone.  I'd say that would get you in front of a judge here too.  Know your target and what's beyond....
  12. Worn belt or bad pulley bearing.  When you take the belt off, check every pulley for movement.  There should be zero side movement and should spin very smoothly.
  13. Whatever you've been doing, it's better than finding out your roof is leaking.....   :-\
  14. Indeed. We recently made the switch to a (mostly) electronic system. It's been... interesting. Do you make composite parts?
  15. Yep. If you're gonna go, go big. If I'm gonna get in trouble (and there's no way out of it), I'm darn sure gonna deserve it.
  16. You make aircraft parts? We fix turbine engines. And yes to what you and Caster said about CNC, CAD, etc. That's pure marketing.
  17. Christmas music.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SIgoOP3qUhE https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-TSKcNlX7_o https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PL9CYJu5A-AiO0gd5uNiGxxSb653m-nWnV&params=OAFIAVgN&v=9k3qZvDRxho&mode=NORMAL
  18. I believe the talking point surrounds the idea that in the highly unlikely event you use your firearm in self defense, some ambulance chasing lawyer will try to claim that your personal reloads were somehow "more deadly" than factory ammo.  The idea being that you loading your own defensive ammo might, in some twisted, nonsensical way, be some form of premeditation that some bleeding heart juror might grab on to.
  19. I've been considered getting cameras for a while now and have been doing a bit of reading.  It does sound like something's wrong with your neighbor's system.  Is the resolution set really low?   As for the sign... I think a "smile for cameras" sign will deter only those smart enough to read it before hand.
  20. Yep, that'll have to be removed.  In general, the DIY kits that don't require a respirator aren't worth doing.  The good stuff is expensive for a reason.
  21. Within your budget... Beretta Neos.  Looks weird, shoots good.
  22.     Indeed.  Taylor's are nice.
  23. I much prefer the elliptical type trainers over a treadmill.  We've got both an elliptical trainer and treadmill in our make-shift little gym at work, both Nordic brand, and they work fine.  The elliptical has had some issues with the sensor that tells it you're moving, but its been a simple fix.
  24. Nice. The muzzle doesn't rise at all, do anything special to achieve that?
  25. I'm left handed and play (really poorly) right handed simply due to guitar availability. If he's gonna stick with left handed, he's pretty much gonna have to order guitars online and then do the buy/sell/trade routine until he finds one he likes.
