  1. I bet you'd be shocked at the prices on governmental bulk orders.
  2. Wifey has a shield 9. I like it. Really soft shooting for its size and I'm pretty accurate with it. I periodically think about getting one for me.
  3. Just what he said, money. Ruger either isn't willing or isn't able to match the price glock offers.
  4. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HdG-kFK2tQs This song is a masterpiece. The way it builds and builds to the eruption at the end is just amazing. Of course I wish there was another 16 bars of the end, but I like the heavy stuff. :)
  5. Same thing I tell my boss went he walks up and I'm surfing TGO.... If the smokers get a 20 min break every 2 hrs, so do I.
  6. It's mostly in the prep. You really need to grit blast it to prep it and wipe it down with acetone right before application. Then cure it per the instructions and resist the temptation to handle it before it's fully cured.
  7. ORSA is super nice. I just wish it wasn't so far away.
  8. If you haven't recently, PLEASE get a check-up with your doc before you start any serious exercise. A friend of mine didn't and died of a heart attack while exercising with his family. He was 34. If you haven't done any exercising in a long time, the best thing to start with is simply walking. Walk at a brisk pace for 30 mins or so. Do that 5x per week for a few weeks before you dive off into anything serious (P-90X, etc).
  9. Pick the one you shoot the best. For me, that would be the Ruger. The small Glocks just don't fit my hand at all.
  10. ... And there'd better be a slot machine.
  11. Sounds like the magic smoke escaped. It takes an expert to gather it back up and put it back in. ;)
  12. Welcome! See if you can find a range near you where you can rent the pistols you're interested in. Pick the one you're the most accurate with while shooting quickly at typical self defense distances.
  13. I hope this makes the prices of the SR series come down.  I'd like to have an SR9c as truck gun.
  14. We've seen lots of them in the fields adjacent to 441 near the Oconaluftee visitor's center.   I don't know that the elk are there regularly, but that's where we've seen them.
  15. Depending on the size of the lathe, either get the motor rewound or replace it.  Generally it's both faster and cheaper to get bigger motors rewound than replacing.
  16. Nice fish!

  18. Nice. Really like those P239's.
  19. Man, there really is no such thing as privacy anymore.
  20. :( RIP godfather of metal. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T7oCqustVQA
  21.     No liability.  Same as if an ax murderer stole your ax and killed somebody with it.  Once it's stolen, it's not yours anymore.
  22.     I've read that the low prices are a ploy to drive the fracting producers out of the market, and I've also read it's a way to put a pinch on the Russian economy in the hopes that Putin will take the hint and leave them alone.  I don't think he takes hints real well.            I've read that too.  I've also read that it's more an issue of having no storage space for the crude at the refineries, so they couldn't offload it even if they wanted to.
  23. I didn't mean anything by it. Your thread/rant from the other day immediately came to mind when I read that post. And for the record, my wife usually carries in a strong side owb holster. Just wish she'd do so more often.
  24. What Castrr said and saved a lot with those reloads....
  25. Cue Mrs. Monkey in 3, 2, 1....
