  1. Probably built from a kit or a collection of surplus piece parts. I built mine from an Imbel (Brazilian) kit.
  2. Cool.  I have the makings of fire-starter tins using old Crossman pellet tins on my workbench, just haven't finished them off yet.
  3. My wife had (has) some follow-through issues as well.  It took some coaching to get her to hold the trigger to the rear until the sight picture returns.  I think doing that helps keep her grip firm through recoil instead of relaxing immediately after the shot breaks.  I first noticed it in the form of her resetting her grip after every shot.  It takes some discipline to only move the trigger finger and not relax the whole hand during trigger reset.          That'd be 4 times for me as keeping both eyes open has me seeing double.
  4.   An STG 58 is just one of several versions of the FAL.  They all function the same, the differences are essentially just cosmetic with the exception of inch/metric pattern rifles.  I believe the STG 58 is the Austrian version with the built-in bipod and really long flash hider / grenade launcher.
  5. Yep.  When I was in college, there were areas near campus where you simply didn't stop for red lights late at night.  When a light turned red, you slowed down, looked, and kept going.  It was rare to see another car and we never knew what caused the lights to change.  I was never personally accosted but a couple friends had a scare one night.  Thankfully they were able to stomp the gas and get outta there before it got ugly.
  6. Again, video is required.
  7. I think they're awesome. Video is required.
  8. Poor elephant.
  9.     A better solution for the tractor....  http://www.walmart.com/ip/Battery-Tender-Junior-Charger/15779492
  10. Looks like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.   What happens if you accidentally hit the mag release on the gun and both mags go falling away?   Having the 2nd mag swinging around under there while trying to shoot can't help accuracy.  Seems like it would also go flying around and whack your hands due to recoil or when moving.  '   Looks like a great thing for someone to grab and jerk the gun out of your hand.
  11. That's good stuff.
  12.     Got a link to that video?  I'm curious....
  13. Do you have any sort of account or claim number?  If so, I'd email everyone I could find about it, daily.  If you had one particular customer service rep that seemed more helpful than others, request that person when you call.  Eventually, they'll get tired of hearing from you and do something about it.  If you're not satisfied that they're addressing the issue, ask to speak with that person's boss.  In both email and in person, politely express your frustration with the apparent lack of direction and general poor customer service.    That said, put up a couple photos of the stock.  Perhaps it can be fixed well enough to use in the mean time.
  14. Amen, my garage is pushing maximum density as well. When I pull in I'm about about an inch from my motorcycle and 2 inches from the door. And I agree on the mid sized trucks. A full size is only a little more money and you get a lot more truck.
  15. Short garages suck.
  16.     I'd reverse the cardio/strength goals.    Dad had his knees replaced over the last couple years.  During therapy, his comment that jumped out at me was "I had no idea how weak I'd gotten."  Do strength work at a somewhat elevated pace and you'll get cardio at the same time.   Running... agreed, only if something is chasing me.  And I have tools to deal with things chasing me.  I'll take a bicycle any day.
  17.     I'll agree with this... My sister had a Tahoe for a while.  The 3rd row seats made it nearly useless for hauling stuff.  Taking them in/out was a PITA.  3rd row seats that don't fold completely into the floor make it effectively a passenger vehicle only, and they're usually so tight that they only fit kids under 10.  If you've gotta put a car seat back there.... fuggedaboutit.
  18. I've gone through the same thought process many times and I think I've settled on the truck, until I think about it again.   My current option is the SUV with a small utility trailer.  I use the trailer for hauling all the dirty, greasy, smelly stuff you'd otherwise put in the truck bed.  And I don't care that it sits outside all the time.   Yes, the trailer can be a pain sometimes and it does reduce gas mileage a bit, but it's indispensable when I need it and it doesn't cost me a thing when I don't.
  19. I'd be afraid of the ceramic rod getting whacked and broken if it was moved to the outside.  It's protected up against the body/leg where it is.  If you moved it outside, I'd want it to be mostly covered.    How about a couple pics of it being worn in the various positions?  I'd like to see how/where it rides.
  20. Cool indeed. Wish I had the cash handy.
  21. Congrats! Life gets in the way regularly, but I also started back exercising when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I feel much better and I sleep a whole lot better. I'd love to drop that last 10-15lbs, but man is it hard.
  22. Some schmuck hit my wife's car in a parking lot and drove off several years ago. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as yours, but it still cost me about $600 to fix.
  23. I don't care if it's faster, I'm not making money shooting so I want what's most effective in returning the gun to battery. A few fractions of a second aren't relevant. And it's the same motion used when clearing a malfunction.
