  1. 'nuff said.
  2. Some ISP's and lots of users do their heavy work in the middle of the night which can bog down the system. If I'm uploading a bunch of photos to my smugmug, I start it right before bed and let it run all night.
  3. Hits on target are what matters. A hit with a .22 is better than a miss with a 20mm. I carry my P3AT regularly this time of year. My wife has an LCP. We also have a Shield 9 and it's excellent, though too big to carry in my pockets. YMMV. There's plenty of test data out there to help you decide which ammo is best. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/
  4. Another nerd in training.
  5. FAL or M1A. I built my FAL, though it's cheaper to buy one.
  6. Yep, good time for an update. The zucchini is going gangbusters. The tomatoes will be too in another week or so. Everything else is fine except for the okra. I've no idea what the deal is, but out of 10-12 seedlings, I think 1 is still alive. None of the rest grew at all.
  7. Interesting. I wouldn't have expected that from him.
  8. Hope you don't have any oak furniture.
  9. Good on ya'. I'll bet the sleeping 18 hrs/day will change fairly soon. He'll get rested up eventually.
  10. Will you have to go through the lock to get there? If so, plan for that to be really slow.
  11. Looks like a fun basement. Wish I had one like that.
  12. Welcome!
  13. Cheesecloth.... I know I've heard that trick before. I have a small vertical smoker and ribs are the only thing I've had problems with drying out. Anything else that came out dry I just plain over cooked. I'll keep an eye out for one of those racks.
  14. Yep. And you're getting a pistol that can be had all day for $200 and a revolver that can be had all day for $120 for a total of $300. Wow, what a deal.
  15. That's a neat idea, where did you find it and how did it work? I've always had to wrap ribs in foil to keep them from drying out.
  16. Ugh. Bad things usually come in 3's, but it appears they come in 5's for you. Hopefully you've met your quota for a while.
  17. Hot weather and lots of passengers helps keep me employed. Hope the show was good.
  18. USAA has a similar service. I think it's something like $150 with participating dealers. Dad used it when they bought Mom's Subaru and said it worked fine. The price seemed to be about what you could negotiate to anyway, especially on a cash sale, the service just saved the aggravation. As I recall they had to order the car, but it didn't take long to get.
  19. I gotta get my smoker out soon. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
  20. No kidding. Walk in, say I'll pay you this much for that one, and they stare at you like you've got 3 heads.
  21. When hiking in the woods, be wary of rattlesnakes sunning themselves on south facing slopes. There's plenty of them around here.
  22. That's impressive.
  23. Interesting, great that they were able to rehab the bird. Though the idea of having a Great Horned Owl walk up your chest is pretty frightening, given that they can crush bones with their feet. This is what my wife does... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Upstate-Birds-of-Prey/211684125542201
  24. Welcome!
  25. Yep... that illustrates just how fast it really happens. The cop was also smart to position himself such that any misses weren't going into the traffic. Hard to tell what kind of building that is, but certainly a better backstop than a handful of cars. The driver of the Suburban was smart to get outta dodge too. I'd have been smoking the tires getting outta there.
