  1. New terminals. Takes 10 minutes to replace.
  2. Sounds interesting. Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan beer is really good. A pecan whisky might be tasty as well.
  3. Nice!
  4. Squid... Originated from squirrelly kid. One who rides in less than appropriate attire. Crotch rocket. Derogatory term for a sport bike. Chicken strips.... The outside edges of a motorcycle tire that have never touched the pavement because the rider is scared to lean the bike. Fifty-pencing... The act of wobbling around a turn because the rider is scared to lean the bike. The British 50 pence coin has about 12 flat sides.
  5. I think I recall meeting him at Spots place as well. Condolences to his friends and family. RIP.
  6. What he said, burn it. It's the "greenest" way to dispose of old gas.
  7. I gave myself tendinitis (tennis elbow) last year trying to improve my grip strength. I've also seen it called MAPS, middle age pull-up syndrome. I'll be honest and say it really sucked. I couldn't really grip anything for about 2 months. Shaking hands hurt like hell. My doc gave me some fancy anti-inflammatory, but it didn't seem to do much so I just took Advil. Stuff I read said it would take 3-4 months to get better, and that was pretty darn close. It doesn't bother me nearly as much now and I've also changed my workout a bit to prevent future flare ups. My strength is almost back to where it was before I hurt it.
  8. Like I said, a fully equipped team. They'd do everything at night, and likely be labeled the 1860's equivalent of terrorists (or ghosts) because of their tactics.
  9. A Kershaw Cryo and Leatherman Blast. Works for what I need and I won't be heartbroken if it gets broken or lost.
  10. Bear problems .... http://wate.com/2016/05/24/residents-have-concerns-over-bear-proof-trash-bins-in-gatlinburg/ http://wate.com/2016/05/23/gsmnp-wrong-bear-was-euthanized-after-hiker-attacked/
  11. It's not about killing the soldiers. It's about taking out the leadership. The SEAL team could kill nearly every officer on both sides and half the government officials. With no leadership, there'd be no war.
  12. I've read stuff before that said a single SEAL team with their typical load could have done enough damage to win the war for either side in 2 weeks.
  13. So of the hundreds of people who've died trying to summit Everest, including a large number of world class mountaineers, that 2 of them also happened to be vegan seems completely irrelevant. Best I recall, there's a sign at camp 4 that says something like 1 in 4 people who leave here will die.
  14. There's something about the file size and type, that youtube intentionally degrades the quality to reduce the file size. I think youtube has different account levels/types where it will or won't let you upload full HD quality video.
  15. Living next to the Smoky's, we hear about problem bears fairly regularly. The park rangers shoo them away and relocate them which works sometimes, but like people, some bears are more stubborn than others. Most of the issues are people's fault, generally not storing food properly, or even baiting them in on purpose. But with the number of bears and how close people live now, the conflict is inevitable. Using dogs to scare bears away is interesting. The park doesn't allow dogs most places because they say dogs attract bears. Obviously some dogs were bred to hunt bears, and I have friends who do that so it seems pretty fuzzy. The few occasions I've encountered bears around here, the bear was either completely oblivious or terrified and ran away as fast as it could.
  16. @Omega I wouldn't consider shooing a curious bear away to retraining per se, but it can work to reinforce the idea that where-ever they are isn't where they should be. Once a bear associates people with food there's not really much that can be done.... Or more accurately it's generally deemed not worth the effort.
  17. http://www.thebeltman.net/www/htdocs/index.html I've got one and so does my wife. Mine's something like 10 yrs old now and still works fine.
  18. @btq96r Being hungry.... ugh. I frickin' hate that. I've made no progress in several months, it seems I've reached one of those proverbial plateaus. Haven't gone backwards, but haven't gone forward either. Given my schedule, fitting in more time for exercise isn't terribly likely so that means I've got to pay more attention to my diet, and most likely trying to reduce my portion sizes, again. As @DT INC. said, the first few weeks kinda suck.
  19. Who tries to retrain bears? I've never heard of that.
  20. Put a vapor barrier under it... plastic sheeting at least 6 mil thick. And yes, if the price for a decent one is upward of $3000, I'd look hard at a detached garage instead.
  21. Related to the "Unread Content".... you can bookmark that search. Just hit the "Unread Content" button then update your bookmark to that URL. It's generic and updates every time. Saves a few clicks.
  22. Speaking of that, anyone else catch this? I thought it was pretty cool. http://www.history.com/shows/iron-and-fire/season-1/episode-2
  23. I'd agree with that. There's just more white space... the dividers/borders between sections/frames are smaller and nearly white themselves. The wood border around the edges is smaller. Doesn't bother me, but obviously bothers some.
  24. A friend at work has a small-ish Kubota and it's a darn useful little tractor. I think its a B2650 and in the 25-30 hp range. He's got the bucket, tiller, back hoe, and PhD attachments and it runs them all just fine.
