  1. I'm an animal person too, but feral cats cause all manner of problems. As you said, they eat nearly everything and run off other, more beneficial critters. I hope you're able to find homes for them, I'd request a condition of taking one to be that it gets fixed. If not.... SSS.
  2. What he said. My P3AT runs with Gold Dots. The LCP runs with PMC, and I chose them for exactly the same reason.... modest if somewhat unreliable expansion, but consistent penetration. Seems the .380 just doesn't have enough oomph to both expand significantly and penetrate reasonably. Recoil in the Shield 9 is quite manageable. Better than the .380's, though I'd presume that's mostly because of the better grip. The only "micro" 9 I've shot was a Kahr, and it was a handful.
  3. Burn it or give it away. Local wood turners or furniture maker might want it. http://www.smwts.org http://www.woodturner.org/members/?id=23093942
  4. Yep. I consider it a "get off me" gun. I rarely shoot it 2 handed because I assume my other hand will be otherwise occupied.
  5. He should issue an executive order that makes breaking the law illegal. That'll fix it for sure.
  6. Look into low a cost spay/neuter service. Sometimes it can be a cheap as free. My mom used to volunteer for one in Soddy. If they're a nuisance, call animal control and they'll dispose of them.
  7. A friend has a Maadi with trench art on the stock and talley marks on the foregrip.
  8. Dunno, server running an over-night back-up?
  9. 'nuff said.
  10. Some ISP's and lots of users do their heavy work in the middle of the night which can bog down the system. If I'm uploading a bunch of photos to my smugmug, I start it right before bed and let it run all night.
  11. Hits on target are what matters. A hit with a .22 is better than a miss with a 20mm. I carry my P3AT regularly this time of year. My wife has an LCP. We also have a Shield 9 and it's excellent, though too big to carry in my pockets. YMMV. There's plenty of test data out there to help you decide which ammo is best. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/
  12. Another nerd in training.
  13. FAL or M1A. I built my FAL, though it's cheaper to buy one.
  14. Yep, good time for an update. The zucchini is going gangbusters. The tomatoes will be too in another week or so. Everything else is fine except for the okra. I've no idea what the deal is, but out of 10-12 seedlings, I think 1 is still alive. None of the rest grew at all.
  15. Interesting. I wouldn't have expected that from him.
  16. Hope you don't have any oak furniture.
  17. Good on ya'. I'll bet the sleeping 18 hrs/day will change fairly soon. He'll get rested up eventually.
  18. Will you have to go through the lock to get there? If so, plan for that to be really slow.
  19. Looks like a fun basement. Wish I had one like that.
  20. Welcome!
  21. Cheesecloth.... I know I've heard that trick before. I have a small vertical smoker and ribs are the only thing I've had problems with drying out. Anything else that came out dry I just plain over cooked. I'll keep an eye out for one of those racks.
  22. Yep. And you're getting a pistol that can be had all day for $200 and a revolver that can be had all day for $120 for a total of $300. Wow, what a deal.
  23. That's a neat idea, where did you find it and how did it work? I've always had to wrap ribs in foil to keep them from drying out.
  24. Ugh. Bad things usually come in 3's, but it appears they come in 5's for you. Hopefully you've met your quota for a while.
  25. Hot weather and lots of passengers helps keep me employed. Hope the show was good.
