  1. We were there late May as well, same experience. All bags get searched and "random" metal detector screenings at all the parks.
  2. Rug for the wildlife resources folks to show kids. That bear will get disposed of long before a hunter gets a chance at it.
  3. Where's that pic of OS?
  4. That's really crappy. I hope he recovers. Wear your harness folks.
  5. What's a calabar? Is that where squids go for a drink?
  6. Dead bear walking. Clearly that one has no fear of humans and is quite comfortable there. That won't end well.
  7. My parents gave us ours (food saver brand) as a wedding gift 15 yrs ago. It doesn't work quite as well as it used to, but it still works, which is quite akin to its operator. The only thing I've had issues with is smoked chicken. For reasons I've never figured out, frozen smoked chicken has always come out dry and a bit mealy. It's delicious straight off the smoker, but after being frozen for a while.... meh. Turkey freezes quite well. And stock from the carcass makes the best chicken/turkey noodle soup you ever ate.
  8. RIP Arnie. He brought swagger to the gentlemen's game.
  9. I have a small-ish vertical charcoal/wood smoker. In my experience, the time/effort increase to have the smoker jammed full vs only a turkey breast is nil. If you've got freezer space and a vacuum sealer, fill 'er up. So from that perspective, bigger is better.
  10. Yes, definitely appears to be a crack. Can you zoom out some and highlight the location?
  11. Check out his Christmas albums.
  12. The hat trick!
  13. Yep.
  14. Indeed. If there's any thought at all of calling the cops, be the one who calls. Good guys call and report bad guys. Right or wrong, that's the default.
  15. Yes, bullets will definitely ricochet off asphalt. Skipping bullets to get BG's hiding behind vehicles is taught.
  16. So sorry for your loss. I've got boys of my own. It's difficult to even think about.
  17. Probably just inconsistent labeling.

  19. I was in line buying bait at a gas station a few days ago. The guy in front of me was digging in his pockets searching for change to buy 2 cans of dip. I considered covering the $1 he was short, but for dip? Nah. And he certainly could've put 1 can back. After the 3rd round counting what he had and coming up short, the clerk comped him and said, "Bring me that dollar tomorrow Jerry." A regular, apparently.
  20. A friend carries a G17 routinely, but he's a big boy who likes big guns. I'm not a glock person, the 19 is the only one I'd consider owning.
  21. Sounds like you did fine to me. I supposed what you did could be considered brandishing, but that's a stretch IMO. Also worth noting is there is a state wide leash law, which these folks clearly violated. I've had dogs all my life and they get away sometimes, it happens. Some folks know dogs and can read their body language to quickly determine intent, which would drive the decision to draw or not. That said, most dogs are really fast, much faster than people, so decision time is significantly compressed. If you hesitate half a second, the dog will be on you.
  22. Looks like fun. Also looks like the mini gun could used a few sand bags.
  23. Up like a rocket, down like a feather.
  24. Man, if I could play like that at age 12, I'm thinking high school would have been very different.
