Handguns must go through an FFL in the buyer's state of residence. Long guns can be transferred by an FFL either here or there, though you may get some static from one here. You can loan an out-of- state visitor a firearm for "sporting purposes" within the state for an indefinite length of time.

It's right at an hour for me to get to ORSA or Norris, so that's 2 hrs in the car just getting there and back. Add a couple hours at the range itself and that's half a day. I can't think of the last time I had 4 consecutive hours free.
