2016 Great Smoky Mountains Skillet

Gofer it. We use ours all the time, the glass top is none the worse for wear. -
Welcome! I'm also an engineer and the gearboxes on the engines we service have Triumph nameplates.

Beginner Tools necessary to build an AR
peejman replied to Ronald_55's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Me too. I've never built an upper, but I've built the same lower about 4 times with no special tools. Watch the videos and go slow, it's not that hard. -

Gouge the glass? Nah. The bottom of my pan is pretty smooth, no different than any of the other pans. The aluminum popcorn popper, on the other hand, has been banned from further stove top use. Last time my wife used it, she shook the pan for the duration and left a layer of aluminum on the glass which took a while to clean off. -

It won't hurt the glass unless you drop it, it'll just heat up slower than a flat bottom pan on the glass but faster on gas. The difference may or may not be noticeable. And if you do break the glass, it's not hard to replace. -

I saw those in Cracker Barrel the other day. The design in the bottom would make it very inefficient on a glass top range (what I have) but it would be more efficient than a plain bottom on a gas range. -
I'd wager their contract with charter would prohibit subletting the service. I doubt they know that. I'd think it would come to a security issue, particularly if they have a home network. In theory, you'd have access to everything on their computers and vice versa. But people borrow other's wifi all the time, sometimes with permission, sometimes not.

And a generous portion of cornbread. Yum.

I've got ATT DSL with a wireless modem/router at home and it's fine. 2 phones, iPad, kids surfing YouTube... no significant issues. Sure, the T1 broadband business connection at work is faster, but it only seems to impact up/download of big files. General surfing isn't that different. Are you running an ad blocker on your browser? What browser do you use? My only broadband option at home is Charter. Based on past experiences, they'll not get another dime from me.

I'm pretty much with Murg... I didn't post in this thread at first because I didn't expect my distaste for no kill shelters would go over well. We tried to rehome our 10 yr old, epileptic, neurotic mess of a dog when she became aggressive towards our boys. We got her from the shelter as a very sick (likely parvo) 6 week old puppy less than 24 hrs from the gas chamber. We spent countless hours helping her adjust to us and immediate family, though she's never been particularly social. After she bit my older boy the 2nd time and I had to hold him down while the doc stitched him up, we started calling no kill shelters and other rehoming services. The response was shockingly cold. A couple of the replies directly stated they thought we were terrible people for even considering the idea of putting our children ahead of a dog. To say I was disappointed doesn't remotely cover it, and my opinion of such businesses/services is impacted as you'd expect. So after lots of thought, dog treats, and a few tears, we've managed to get the dog and boys to co-exist relatively peacefully. She's now 15, functionally toothless, very arthritic, and still a neurotic mess. I'm not sure how much longer she's got, and I'm glad we didn't rehome her.

I don't know, but I'd be kinda surprised if it did. Best to ask your agent and/or read the fine print of your policy.

It seems that Kip Winger... yes that Kip Winger .... has been nominated for a Grammy for his classical composition, "Conversations with Nijinsky", and honestly... it's quite good. Who knew? https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PLnlzKO04pEkF2uwHtE5gbr4hZIX05kEXg&v=k9H-XoPCkx0

Mosin, Mauser, SKS, AK, cheap pump shotgun, ...

They get used a lot here, hours per day 5 days/week. So for more "normal use", the batteries probably would last a while.

Lots of our inspectors at work have these. They're really good, but eat batteries at a pretty high rate. I'd like to get one of the single AAA versions of it.

Two juveniles charged for starting Sevier Co. wildfires
peejman replied to xsubsailor's topic in General Chat
Therein lies the problem. I've heard rumors that they currently have a 15 and 17 yr old and they are implicating others. -
You can get an umbrella liability policy that covers lots more than just this specific issue for significantly less. Talk to your car/homeowners carrier.
-
Be wary of home warranties. Read the fine print very carefully and make them explain anything you're unsure of. If you're reasonably mechanically inclined, DIY'ing the replacement isn't that hard.

They don't need to go to prison, they need to pick up a shovel and wheel barrow. Then when they're done with that, they need pick up a hammer and nails. Then when they're done with that, they need to pick up a paint brush. Depending on how all that goes, maybe we'll see about prison. Given the situation, I'd bet the parents weren't particularly involved before so getting them involved now seems a bit late. -
When you buy the car, give them your address here. I don't recall ever being asked for ID at the tag/title office.

Why is Briley Parkway backed up between Exits 24 and 25?

There's gotta be traffic cameras. And it would seem you already know the schedule. -
Welcome back! Congrats on the young'un. My youngest is 6 today. Kids change everything.
