Meh, Kelly is way hotter than Fox.

Maybe this isn't the right place, but I'll ask anyway... Mobile skin, I get pop up notifications at the bottom of the screen when I log in. The bell in the top right also displays a number. Clearing the pop up doesn't clear the bell at the top, so I have to do it twice. Can that be fixed?

Well And here i thought I'd actually found something useful for a change. This new theme seems less bright than I recall the prior iteration. It didn't immediately elicit the "aaahh, my eyes!" vampire response. I'll adjust.

Dad (Air Force guy) calls helicopters a collection of loose parts flying in formation. Occasionally they break formation for no apparent reason.

Switch to the darker theme at the bottom. It's still there and it looks the same as before.

Why not use the pan for food? The silica pellets just sit there and dry out, it's not nearly hot enough for anything else to happen. Line the pan with foil if you're concerned. And this reminds me, time to swap out the desiccant pack.

The moisture has to be coming from somewhere. What's the humidity in the rest of the house? If the humidity in the house is about 60% or higher at 70deg, there's more than enough water in the air to cause condensation on the 55deg metal surface. If you attach some sort of insulation without drying it up and sealing it, I'd be afraid the metal will rust out under the insulation. Spray foam should seal it, but it's got to be dry first and it's not cheap, as you found.

Apartment for rent, newly refurbished. Why didn't they just turn the water off at the main valve? I saw the line about $150 water shut-off fee, but there's got to be a valve. That's one of the first things I look for in any new place... where's the main water valve? And yeah, that's probably $20,000 in damage.

So there's no fill or gravel between the concrete (which is the bottom of the porch?) and the steel roof of the room? Is there a moisture barrier? If not, it's probably gonna rust out fairly quickly. Having to empty the dehumidifier twice a day isn't unusual. Plumb the dehumidifier drain into a floor drain if you have one. The 4' opening (and only one of them) is also a problem. You need to set up a fan and force air circulation. It would help to cut two vent openings up high on either end so the air can move in/out near the ceiling. You might also look at drainage around the outside of the house. All that moisture is getting in there somehow. Make sure all the downspouts terminate well away from the house. Look for any areas where water might be running toward the house or puddling/flowing with a few feet when it rains.

There's plenty of hollers up yonder. Detroit born? Get ready for culture shock...

What's between the ceiling of your room and the bottom of your porch? Does the ceiling slope any direction? Does the room stay closed most of the time? Is the room a noticeably different temperature than the rest of the basement? Does the ceiling feel colder than the other walls? Do you run a dehumidifier?

Welcome! I used to work in Rogersville, it's a beautiful area.

Pet peeve #127... crooked lumber. Use good straight wood for the whole build, especially anywhere anyone will see it. My house is full of wavy walls and door frames that aren't quite square. Bugs the crap outa me. Anyway... cool idea on the hidden bookshelf. My dad has a similar hidey hole book shelf in his house, but it's not walk-in sized.

A range is a good idea if the buyer wants to try it first. Don't know that I'd meet at a gun shop unless a transfer was necessary. I've met people in fairly large parking lots during the day, though given my experience with other TGO'ers a shady back alley would be perfectly fine too.

Odd items to keep around in case of the apocalypse.

You'll have to get old playboys as they no longer featute nekkid girls. -
Could the one flap cover both the tool and pepper spray?

Building & fire safety codes typically require at least 2 exits for any "occupied" space. Two doors, door + window, etc. Doors should also have "panic hardware" that bypasses the lock from the inside. You could avoid that by classifying the room as a closet, but I don't know all the details of that.

I'd kinda hoped you might chime in... This is the closest thing I've found so far. http://skinthsolutions.com/product/l-shield/

I have a friend who carries while he bow hunts (on his own property) due to issues with coyotes. He explained why to the game warden and the warden said "good thinking, just don't shoot the deer."

Thanks, but that's much larger than what I have in mind.

I want a new multi-tool pouch. I have a Leatherman wave and the original pouch is worn out. I'd also like to free up some pocket space by getting a pouch that will hold the wave plus pepper spray and a single AAA flashlight. Plus maybe a little pry bar or one of those universal wrench doodads. The leatherman 934810 looks like an option, but I don't like that the side pockets are open bottomed. I'm also not sure they'll hold a pepper spray. I've also looked at the various Skinth offerings. They look nice, but I don't want to have to get a giant one just to have a spot for the spray. And their delivery and customer service seems a tad flakey. I'm not an especially big person so I'd prefer the smallest/slimmest thing that'll do the job. I'm not keen on these things that look like you're carrying a tablet on your belt. Suggestions?

All those vague and conflicting answers implies there's been no significant case law to provide clear interpretation, which further implies there's been no prosecution of alleged violations, which yet further implies either there haven't been any citations issued, or there were plenty of other issues available for prosecution so they didn't bother with this.

If you intend for it to be a storm shelter/panic room, think through the idea of using a vault door with a fancy lock. As you'd expect, they're not terribly conducive to quick open/close under stress.
-
Depends on what you intend to put inside it, for what reason, and how long you expect to be in there. There's several pre-fab storm shelters available. http://familysafeshelters.com/ Otherwise a small room with filled and rebarred block walls with a structural metal frame for a vault door shouldn't be all that difficult or expensive.
