  1. Cool. We've been to see them at the Hiawassee WMA when they pass through on their migration.
  2. Where did you hunt them?
  3. *sigh* I wish my wife would wear them....
  4. I would say increase your awareness. But that's pretty normal this time of year anyway. And on a side note.... I used to work with the guy that was stealing packages. Knowing him a bit, I can't say I'm completely surprised but I'm sad to see that. I hope he can get his life turned around.
  5. These have a built-in holster...
  6. Cool. I carry my pocket knife in my back pocket with my handkerchief.
  7. I'll agree with Cap, they're not trying to hide anything, they're just doing what's necessary to get the box to its destination. I've gotten several packages that were either reboxed or had half a roll of UPS/fedex label tape holding them together. Corporate clients all have their own rates and policies for damages. We ship aircraft parts via FedEx worth hundreds of thousands of dollars routinely. Occasionally they get damaged and FedEx doesn't pay damages. It gets written off as "the cost of doing business".
  8. Anytime I've ordered bulk quantities, that's exactly how it's been shipped. I'm also surprised at what Kahrman got. I'd guess that was a shipper repackage due to a wet box that the bottom fell out of at some point in its travels.
  9. Cool. A friend has an old MAADI with trench art on the stock.
  10. Just wait until you've taken the class, the paperwork isn't especially elaborate. You'll also have to make a separate appointment to get fingerprinted, and you can't do that until you've taken the class.
  11. You are permitted to defend your family and/or domestic animals from predators. I seriously doubt you'd get charged, especially if no one saw anything..... If you can't shoot it, drowning is the preferred method of disposing of a trapped animal.
  12. I'd be a lot less worried about noise and a lot more worried about a wounded yote prowling around. Coyotes are tough critters. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a .22 bounce off the skull. A friend had to hit one 3 times with a .270, first shot was mid back and it got back up after about a minute. Second shot was front shoulder and it got back up again, though the front leg wasn't working. His assumption was the first bullet didn't expand and the second broke the shoulder but didn't do much else.
  13. Animal control won't relocate them, they'll take them to someone who can dispose of them. I saw one run across the road on my way to work a while back. It was running parallel to an overgrown creek that runs between a couple McMansion neighborhoods. A neighbor said he thought he saw one in his backyard, but couldn't get a shot off quick enough.
  14. People don't enter because they feel the business/property owner is infringing on their right to self defense.
  15. Gofer it. We use ours all the time, the glass top is none the worse for wear.
  16. Welcome! I'm also an engineer and the gearboxes on the engines we service have Triumph nameplates.
  17. Me too. I've never built an upper, but I've built the same lower about 4 times with no special tools. Watch the videos and go slow, it's not that hard.
  18. Gouge the glass? Nah. The bottom of my pan is pretty smooth, no different than any of the other pans. The aluminum popcorn popper, on the other hand, has been banned from further stove top use. Last time my wife used it, she shook the pan for the duration and left a layer of aluminum on the glass which took a while to clean off.
  19. It won't hurt the glass unless you drop it, it'll just heat up slower than a flat bottom pan on the glass but faster on gas. The difference may or may not be noticeable. And if you do break the glass, it's not hard to replace.
  20. I wish it was why I'm broke.
  21. I saw those in Cracker Barrel the other day. The design in the bottom would make it very inefficient on a glass top range (what I have) but it would be more efficient than a plain bottom on a gas range.
  22. I'd wager their contract with charter would prohibit subletting the service. I doubt they know that. I'd think it would come to a security issue, particularly if they have a home network. In theory, you'd have access to everything on their computers and vice versa. But people borrow other's wifi all the time, sometimes with permission, sometimes not.
  23. And a generous portion of cornbread. Yum.
  24. I've got ATT DSL with a wireless modem/router at home and it's fine. 2 phones, iPad, kids surfing YouTube... no significant issues. Sure, the T1 broadband business connection at work is faster, but it only seems to impact up/download of big files. General surfing isn't that different. Are you running an ad blocker on your browser? What browser do you use? My only broadband option at home is Charter. Based on past experiences, they'll not get another dime from me.
