  1. I think was Sam is getting at, and I agree, is you could ditch the 1.5gal tank and T off the outlet of the 12gal with a regulator dialed to 125psi to supply your horns, etc.
  2. If I recall, you do have to go online and update your address. But you can keep a printed copy of the address correction with your permit and not have to get your actual permit updated until renewal time.
  3. Generally you have to mail order a colony of bees to get a hive started. I'm also fascinated by bees and would like to have a hive or 3 myself. But as mentioned, it's seems like a fair amount of work and I don't think I'd have the time necessary to care for them.
  4. They keep trying, but the weathergasm just hasn't quite happened yet.
  5. Dealers.... yeah. In my experience, the majority of them are marginally useful. It's pretty common to have to travel hundreds of miles get what you want. There are no dealer networks and they generally won't move bikes around or make any effort to find a specific bike for you like car dealers do. You've got to do all the work to find what you want and go get it. "Fly-and-ride"... The XT is a very simple bike and OEM parts are readily available online. Anyone with even modest wrenching skills can easily accomplish the typical maintenance tasks. A factory service manual and YouTube are all you need. If its a brand new bike, I wouldn't ride it back either. Droning down the highway is not a good way to break it in. It'll ride just fine diagonally across the bed. Put it on the side stand, 2 straps on the handlebars and 2 on the passenger pegs pulling down and forward. Stop after the first 10-15 minutes and retighten as necessary. Good to go.
  6. Check in on the XT forum, I'll say Hi there... http://www.xt225.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm Ive got an '06 225 and have been very happy with it. As for hauling it, I'd guess it'll fit with the bike diagonally and steering at full lock, but the rear tire will sit on the tailgate. I doubt you'll be able to fit the bed extender around it. As long as you've got a couple straps pulling forward and down, it'll be fine. Renting or borrowing a small trailer is also a good option, I have one. The bike is light enough that you could also use a hitch hauler without much issue as well.
  7. Perhaps the pharmacy world is different, but in my experience the school only matters getting the first job. After that, work experience is far and away the biggest factor. Where you got the piece of paper only matters if the person doing the hiring has one from the same place, and even then it doesn't necessarily mean a lot. I understand the Daddy/daughter thing. One of my coworkers has both daughters in college in Alabama. He drove there and back in a day to fix some rinky-dink problem with one of their cars. To which my answer was ... "she's in freakin' engineering school! Tell her to figure it out and fix it yourself." He just smiled. I'm thankful for boys.
  8. With those grades, I'd seriously look into other schools (if you haven't already). That seems plenty good enough to get way more than "a fraction of the overall cost". At the end of the day, she'll have the same piece of paper as every other PharmD out there. My grades weren't as good as hers and I got paid to go to grad school. Granted it wasn't pharmacy school, but still.
  9. What you're calling "deceptive marketing practices" is what everyone who rents cars regularly calls "normal". Yes, they take advantage of every opportunity to try to screw customers out of every penny they can. It's called business. The uninformed pay more, sometimes a lot more. Another reason to book online, you have time to read the fine print. Though it's a fun way to piss off a desk agent... ask them for a full print out of the contract before you sign and proceed to read it, in detail, while standing there. Ask them questions about what things mean (they won't have a clue). Not that I've ever done that.
  10. Check the Alabama laws, they may be similar to TN in that you can't be criminally charged for illegal possession if you use a firearm in justifiable self defense.
  11. The boss is right. TN DL = TN HCP. If shes not getting an AL DL, she's not formally a resident even if she has an address and is paying rent/utilities in AL.
  12. I saw too much oil gum up firing pin channels and result in light primer strikes in cold weather. It was 29 deg when we started the shooting portion of my HCP class. Two Sigs were DOA, one being the girl standing next to me.
  13. I'd guess a "reduced recoil" spring set, improperly installed spring/guide rod, or bent/damaged guide rod.
  14. Either pocket in a Desantis Nemisis or belt in custom leather holsters.
  15. I've got a Crossman Vantage NP. It's not nearly as fancy as some here, but it works for me. I've never put optics on it as my primary reason for getting it was so I could practice with irons at home. I plink with my boys in the back yard. They're learning to shoot their BB guns pretty well. It's easily coke can accurate off hand at 20 yds. The trigger leaves something to be desired, but I figure that's not really a bad thing as it make all my other rifles seem that much better.
  16. Nah, that was the guys who said "Crap! We're out of ammo but still have powder and the enemy is about to come over that rise. Find anything you can to stuff in there and shoot at them!" And canister shot was born...
  17. So my initial smart-arse thought of "more wadding" was pretty close.
  18. How could a 120mm and 130mm gun fire the same projectile? The Yamato class Japanese battleships in WWII had the largest guns at 460mm firing a 3200lb projectile... 337 million ft-lbs with a range of 26 miles. The German Schwerer Gustav railway gun is the biggest ever. 800mm bore firing a 15,650lb projectile at 2700 ft/s... 1.77 billion ft-lbs.
  19. That's exactly what I was trying.... squeeze as hard as you can and maintain control... "crush the gun". My groups were mediocre as best. When I loosened up a little, everything got better.
  20. Anyone care to recommmend a good dark rum with a modest price? I'm tired of Bacardi.
  21. @PAULSHOOT Low left usually means you're squeezing with your whole hand when pulling the trigger and anticipating recoil. I did that too until I learned to not squeeze so hard with my support hand. Try shooting bullseye style... slow with one hand. My accuracy improved significantly which told me I was the problem, not the gun. And please run a couple boxes of those hollow points to make sure they feed. The $50 expense is worth it.
  22. While I didn't have a shotgun, teachers used to ask to borrow my pocket knife because they knew it was sharp.
  23. I'd get ammo that's specifically 7.61x51 to start with. Cheap bulk .308 like Wolf is probably ok too. I would not use any sort of modern hunting type .308 with muzzle velocity more than 2700 or so.
