  1. Nice! Can you swim in it?
  2. Never heard this song?
  3. Exactly. It's called an umbrella policy. They're fairly inexpensive and cover lots more than what these specific policies do.
  4. Have her try it like this... https://www.corneredcat.com/article/running-the-gun/rack-the-slide/ It's not a pull, its a whack. Like smacking a mosquito.
  5. Nonsense. By all means, incriminate...
  6. What they said... I love old milsurps, much more than my budget allows unfortunately.
  7. No, they aren't donor car kits. It's a real, brand new car made from reproduction or original tooling from the stampings on up.
  8. Once you pick a contractor, watch them like a hawk. Go to the site every day to go over plans, and inspect the work. Don't hesitate to make them fix or redo things you don't like, it's much faster/easier/less expensive to address it now than later. Remind them that you are both the customer and the boss if necessary.
  9. http://www.timesnews.net/Law-Enforcement/2017/05/01/Kingsport-police-say-suspect-taken-to-hospital-after-failed-home-invasion.html?ci=stream&lp=4&p=1
  10. And now we know why the USCCA was uninvited from the NRA convention.
  11. It's all about attitude. Good for her.
  12. As mentioned, there's lots to consider. If I had a barn find or familiar heirloom all original car, then I'd be motivated to keep it original. However, most old cars have enough wrong that there's little/no value in trying to go back completely stock. Do you really want to drive a car on today's roads with 4 wheel drum brakes and no seat belts? As for running out of old cars... you can buy a brand new '68 Camaro today, so I don't see that happening.
  13. Be very happy you're in a market like that. I bought my house 9 years ago and I'm not sure I could get my money back if I had to sell it. Which is certainly another point to consider.... Its long been said that a house is your best investment. For me, it's been the opposite. I made 0.7% return on the purchase price after 7 years in my first house, not including the thousands we spent on upgrades. As I said above, I'd be happy with 0% on the current house. The market here is improving, but it's really slow.
  14. Have you already investigated financing? If not, do that first. I strongly recommmend no less than 20% down, and be certain the payment is comfortable. Don't plan on future income increases, its no fun all feeling financially stretched month after month. You also can't really compare rent payments to mortgage payments. Houses are expensive, there's always something that needs done and it's rarely inexpensive. Brand new houses in particular tend to suck the budget dry for quite a while until you get things exactly how you want.
  15. Technically that was an ultralight, not an airplane. If you give one of those full throttle, it's gonna get airborne real fast. It's difficult to keep them on the ground much above 30 mph.
  16. If they'd wanted to kill people, they'd have shot first and then stepped over the bodies to get to the money. No argument on fighting back. I'd do the same thing.
  17. It's all a matter of motivation. Those kids had no intention of killing anyone, they were hoping their show of force would scare folks into submission. Except some folks don't scare so easily and are mentally prepared to act quickly and decisively. They were shocked and unprepared for anyone to fight back, and it cost them dearly.
  18. A guy I work with who lives in Indy stirred the pot last week regrading a quick and merciful ending to the Pred's season. He got this in return this morning....
  19. It's not just a Memphis thing. While this didn't involve guns, it certainly was gay bashing. The victim is a friend of a friend. http://wate.com/2017/03/09/3-maryville-men-charged-with-beating-robbing-man-on-foothills-parkway/
  20. You might find somebody nearby who would cut up the trees for firewood, assuming they'd be good for that.
  21. Heh... my wife has 2 sisters and I'd love it if my father-in-law would do the maintenance on my cars... except I'm a better mechanic than he is. Easter conversation led to the idea of me working on their cars after they paid $600 for a brake job that took the mechanic an hour at most, and it cost me $150 in parts to do the same to our van.
  22. Looks really nice to me. If anyone nearby has cows or horses, I'd bet they'd lease/barter for the hay. You could also do hunting leases if you have turkeys and/or deer.
  23. Iran doesn't have the design or manufacturing capability to make a believable forgery. Apparently Putin didn't want to share his, or they were too embarassed to ask.
  24. Just scale it back to what you need to support yourself... smaller garden, fewer critters, etc. Just because you've got 25 acres doesn't mean you have to use it all. Perhaps there are people nearby you could barter with? That might allow you to concentrate on a few things and not have to do everything yourself.
