  1. Interesting story. I don't think it would have ended well for the shop owner had that happened here since we're not allowed to use deadly force to protect property.
  2. Dood. Forget a gun, the mini is screaming for that.
  3. Punt gun at Fort Loudoun garrison weekend a few years ago... I've got video of them firing it somewhere...
  4. Ours is ok so far. We should start getting cucumbers, zucchini, and tomatoes within the week. The okra didn't all die this year, so that's encouraging. The chili peppers flopped. Win some, lose some.
  5. We've been next door to MB for the past week (and I have to go home tomorrow ). The local news would indicate its not much different from k-town.
  6. Unless they're wanding folks, even this guy has nothing to worry about.
  7. 93 octane is a waste of money. It'll run better on 87, but do stick with 100% gas whenever possible.

    FL to TN

    https://www.tn.gov/safety/article/handgunmain The details are here.
  9. Nope, school's out...
  10. I was at work. Overheard someone saying a plane had hit a building in NY. Thought, nah, couldnt be that. Then heard more people talking and figured it was a small private plane or something. Then folks got real excited saying it was an airliner so I found someone on the internet and stood staring in disbelief at pictures over their shoulder. Within a couple minutes, all the traffic killed our internet service except for our customer line. So spent the next little while watching over the shoulder of one of our supplier reps who was from England. His connection locked up shortly thereafter as well. I distinctly remember him saying "I guess this means I'm not going home this week...". At some point I called my wife who was at home. Her grandparents, who lived 2 hrs away, were out just driving around and decided to stop by for an unannounced visit. They got to the house just before the first tower fell. I was grateful they were there and my wife didn't have to watch it alone. We left work fairly early that day and I recall standing with my wife on our deck that evening and noting how eerily quiet it was. Only the occasional car passing by and no contrails overhead.
  11. Dang. I knew they decided to quit touring recently, but I didn't know his health was that poor. They'll never catch the midnight rider.
  12. While none are perfect, I'm happy with how all of them do what I want/need them to do.
  13. Once would be one too many. I slipped on a patch of ice I didn't see years ago and landed flat on my back. I was carrying SOB because I was young and didn't know any better. I wish I'd taken a pic of the bruise. Thankfully it only hurt when I was breathing. Generally, SOB holsters don't have much in the way of a body shield or any sort of padding, and neither does a person's lower back. I can't speak for everyone, but I've got lots more padding on my hips. It's also one of the slowest locations to draw from and you're likely to point the muzzle at any one/thing standing on your strong side while in motion.
  14. Absolutely not small of the back. If you fall on it, it'll hurt. A lot.
  15. This. Mount a holster on the tractor.
  16. I wish I had time to get into home brewing/distilling. I think I'd make a really good drunk.
  17. Too much? Did you ask her why she needs 12 bottles of wine or 37 pairs of shoes? And if you did, how fast did you have to duck? Honestly, I only have 1 or 2 bottles at a time unless I've happened across a really good deal. Between the beer, wine, vodka, rum, and various chocolaty/fruity stuff she likes, I don't have room for a proper "library".
  18. I've gotten a few AK & SKS odds and ends from them in the past. It'll all been fine.
  19. Sheesh... you guys need to lighten up. They're only kids once. It's summer so there's plenty of time for her to have fun with it and dye it back to a normal color when school starts.
  20. I got my wife a shield 9 back when they were $400. I carry it as much as she does. I'm really tempted to get another, given the current prices.
  21. Woohoo!
  22. Atta boy!
  23. I agree that the arguements follow similar lines, and with what you're saying. Lasers above 5mW are regulated here and in many other places. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_pointer
  24. I'll bet you'll have a hard time getting that solder hot enough with a heat gun. It'll heat a big area and perhaps also weaken the solder that's holding the sight on. You might be able to remove it with a soldering iron and wick. Otherwise you could polish it off with some fine sandpaper or they make chemical solder removers.
