  1. That the woman turned left in front of the bike and the rider is the one being charged is telling.
  2. Parent's responsibility? That's just crazy talk.
  3. Talk you out of it?
  4. I'll be happy if we just reinstate Mr. Darwin.
  5. Does it rotate easily once unlocked, or is it really stiff to unlock?
  6. Isn't that the definition of marriage?
  7. Looks like a good bill and friendly prices. Wish I could go.
  8. I'd like to, but have significant doubt I'll make it.
  9. Camo? I don need no stinkin camo.
  10. Geese get used to the fake noise maker stuff pretty quickly. There's not much you can do if you're not there very often. Got neighbors with a dog that'll run them off?
  11. Mine has done fairly well. Cucumbers have been great, okra is in full swing, and we've gotten one pie pumpkin with 2 more on the vine. Might have a couple cantaloupes in another week or two. I've lost one tomatoe and have a couple others suffering from blight. Harvest has been mediocre on the others. The zucchini produced well but then died suddenly, no idea why. I intend to plant green beans where the zucchini was. Oh yeah, and the jalapeño has been going gangbusters and the peppers are smokin hot. The plant has been nearly overwhelmed by the pumpkin vine, but it's still making peppers like crazy. No idea why they're so much hotter this year, as the last couple years they were about as spicy as carrots.
  12. Higher is better unless the ride is unbearable. I used to run 50psi unloaded to take the edge off.
  13. Then I'd have it unloaded and locked up in the trunk or otherwise inaccessible.
  14. Lock it up, unloaded, ammo separate, and don't give them any reason to pull you over. Southern Illinois is much less wacko than greater Chicago area.
  15. I'll freely admit to this being somewhat self serving, but I've used SmugMug for years and been happy. It's not free, but i think it's inexpensive for you get. If you're interested, here's a discount code. https://secure.smugmug.com/signup?Coupon=VlcPcQWTe7dG6 And no, I have no idea what photobucket's end game is. Clearly they've re-thought their business model and made some changes.
  16. You guys act like they're not perfectly nice people... And I bet you'd be surprised who a lot of them really are.
  17. The plastic will be perfectly fine. The small holes for the bolts are of little consequence. Throw a bed sheet the same color as the walls over the safe to make it less visually obvious.
  18. Hey, they don't call it Easter egg hunting for nothing....
  19. I've never sold Kirby vacuums, but I've got a really funny story from when a salesman came to my house. It ended with "Look, if I'm gonna pay that much for something that sucks, it's damn sure gonna suck more than my carpet." People seem shocked when I tell them I'm an engineer with a dead end job. I've been doing exactly the same thing for 10 years. I've laughed and said there's no opportunity to go anywhere unless someone quits or dies. Well, someone finally quit in the fall and it's only gotten worse. I seem to have a knack for finding dead end jobs, as every place I've worked has gone through difficult times. Maybe its me, or maybe I'm just unlucky. My wife sent this to me a few days ago, and I keep thinking about it... ... but I have no idea where I'd jump to. I'm too much of a planner and too risk averse, and I've got a family to think about (or that's my excuse anyway). I hope to instill in my kids a greater willingness to take that leap and follow their dreams.
  20. I'm somewhat jealous of others who've done a wide variety of things through their careers and lives, as I feel somewhat trapped in my current position. The grass is always greener I suppose....
  21. Just stick them together with no glue, it'll hold fine if you're thoughtful with where you put the joints. A layer of masking tape can help tighten up loose joints. It'll also be a lot easier to disassemble for easy transport.
  22. Generally, faculty and staff is a no. Having it in the car is against policy. Parents dropping off or picking up kids can have one on their person provided they don't exit the vehicle while on school property.
  23. Since I don't live there, thankfully no, I don't have experience with Nashville soccer moms. A guy with a camera on a tripod in a park.... I bet the conversation between the operator and the investigating officer was interesting.
  24. I ride too, so yeah. Nothing like coming buzzing around a corner to find the entire road covered in grass clippings. It gets interesting really quickly.
  25. I grew up in Chattanooga and went to UTC and then TTU to become a mechanical engineer. I spent 7 years doing steering system product design in the auto industry. While I had been looking for another job for a while, my boss called me while I was on vacation to tell me my job was moving to Detroit. That was the final push for me to find something else. I found an unexpectedly brief job designing industrial products (8 months) and then found my current job fixing broken jet engine parts, which I've been doing for 10 years.
