I had the same problem about 15 years ago. Someone down the road was shooting and bullets occasionally bounced off my neighbor's house and mine. He found a .40 S&W bullet in his driveway. We called BCSO and an officer stopped by to talk to us. He told us to call anytime we heard gun fire. If they had someone available, they'd come investigate and let us know the results. Maybe a month or so later, the deputy stopped back by and told us he'd found the source and they were using an unacceptable backstop. They were required to correct the backstop. They did and it hasn't happened since. We still hear gun fire occasionally, so the shooting hasn't stopped. Every time I've been shooting on private property where houses are within earshot, a sheriff's deputy has come by to make sure we're being safe. Our interactions have always been pleasant.

We've got a small 1500W ceramic heater, just whatever Walmart had and it works fine. Heats up the bathroom quite well or will warm your spot in a big room, but not the room. We used to have an infrared one similar to this that worked well too. It was better for a larger room. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Comfort-Zone-1500-Watt-Electric-Quartz-Infrared-Radiant-Tower-Heater-CZQTV007BK/309033438

My son has 4-6 IV infusion treatments every year. Those plus the associated scans run over $100k annually. Each infusion is about $18k. $15k of the $18k is the drug cost, which isn't anything new or fancy, it's been in use for 30 years. So who's really making the money?

If they directed their employees to conduct business in an honorable fashion with their customers' best interests in mind, they'd have nothing to fear, right?

I'm also suspicious of the vent. The water going down the drain is pushing air in the pipes, which is supposed to escape out the vent. When the vent is clogged, the air follows the path of least resistance, which is back up the pipe in your case. My in-laws washer wasn't vented correctly so it would gurgle in their adjacent kitchen sink every time it drained. They never believed me that it was wrong until they had their kitchen remodeled and the plumber said, yeah that's wrong, and fixed it. Get a big stock pot full of boiling water and pour it down that drain with a funnel. That'll help clean the pipes.

Murder is never a reasonable solution. I have huge empathy for his family. They're living their worst nightmare right now. The shooter is definitely an amateur with an axe to grind. A pro would have been invisible. That said, having personally gone to war more than once with UHC over claim and treatment denials, I have no love for the system he administers. They F with people's lives for money that isnt theirs in the first place. They employ quack doctors who lost their license to review treatment for people they'll never see. Like banks, they're a leach. They provide very little value and suck billions out of the system. They're a parasite. Violence is never the answer, but like the events of January 6th, if this sends a message to remind certain people who their customers are and the power they hold, I hope some good comes of it.

As with the others, I found the laser wiggling around to be more of a distraction than anything else. More focused on the dot than what the dot was on. I'd imagine it would be even worse in the midst of an adrenaline dump.

Exactly. That goes back hundreds of years. The primary thing is the rate of change has increased dramatically in the last 30 years or so. Technology has enabled so many things. It's likely to continue to increase.

I built benches most of the way around my last deck to function as railings. Code only requires railings if the deck is 36" or higher.
