Can local gov ban carry in parks?
peejman replied to TheFeller's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, it's confusing. I'm convinced that's not an accident. One rule for all? Sure. No one who doesn't know someone in high places can carry anywhere. A license and registration is required to purchase any sort of weapon (gun, ammo, knife, baton,...) and you must allow the authorities to inspect your weapon any time they want to. Sounds great, don't you think? -
Occasionally the kids help out too.

Me personally, no. My wife works with a raptor rehabber. They have a handful of unreleasable education birds in addition to those they rehab. http://www.smokymountainraptorcenter.org/

Sorry for the difficulties. Someone who remembers her name will chime in with contact info for a very helpful lady at TDOS who can address this sort of thing. I just can't recall her name at the moment...

They search bags. I've never seen wands. There's a ton of lights. It's not too bad as long as the crowds aren't terrible.

Heh... Seems like it would help ensure no one violates the etiquette. I'd just have to make a point to get upwind of the jackwad who sits in the line with their exceedingly stinky diesel truck on high idle. I'll bet the tank smells worse. And you're allowed to have a gun in your car with a permit, so shouldn't be an issue there.

Who cares? I need one of those for taking my kids to/from school.

Nice! What kind of tomahawk is that and how complicated is the sheath?

That sort of thing happens in all sorts of relatively high volume production operations. It's difficult (and expensive) to eliminate. Most of those places don't hire or want machinists, they want machine operators. The processes are typically highly automated so they don't really need a machinist's skills, just someone to load and unload fixtures and push the "go" button.

For those of you whose kids are getting giant Lego kits for Christmas...

FTFY. And yes, this is cool. -
Wow. I have little to offer that hasn't already been said. You succeeded in spite of great adversity, that's something to be celebrated. Sharing your experience might be cathartic. I'm sure many foster kids are currently living through very similar circumstances. You could relate your experiences and show them the light at the end of the tunnel. Now may not be the time, but taking your bad experiences and using them for good could help you find peace.

Target shooting and combat accuracy have completely different goals. Target shooting is as fast as you can put bullets exactly where you want them, be that a steel plate at 10yds or a paper bullseye at 1000yds. Combat accuracy is stopping the threat as fast possible. .

Most of the other big sports have a minor league, why not football?

We used a typical brooder infrared heat lamp. Her spot on the porch was up against the bricks. I pointed the lamp at the bricks and it made a fairly warm spot, even with temps in the low 20's. Though most of the time the dumb dog would just stay out in the cold.

Like a fair number of others, he's learned from the master. Time will tell if he can beat him.

Heh, I fixed steak, baked potatoes, and broccoli for the family last night too. Except I grilled the steak (sirloin). It was yummy. No pics though.

The cut of most suits now is so trim that having much of anything in your pants pockets results in fairly absurd looking bulges unless you're a pretty big guy in the first place. I'm not a big fan of that style, but that seems to be the "in" thing these days. -
What @nightrunner and @btq96r said. I wish people would give up on this. NY, CA, etc are much too powerful for this to ever end up in a happy place for everyone else. The nitwits who keep sponsoring these bills have to know that. It seems to me they're either just placating their constituency or NY, CA style laws are what they really want.

Congrats on the new gig! I've got one of the TGO Runts and it's small, but super nice. A friend has a ZT 450 with titanium frame or scales (both?) that's very light. Instead if clipping it to your pants, perhaps an inside coat pocket would work better. You could use a pocket protector without it being visible. -
Welcome! I used to work in Rogersville. It's a beautiful area.
