  1. Yes, just get some good beer and whisky.
  2. My favorite muscle car, though I wouldn't paint it like that. I cry a little when I think of all the '69 chargers they destroyed.
  3. Yep. If she can't handle something like a GP100 in 38, there's not much else other than downsizing to something like a .22 mag. I'd ask her to reconsider selling the Bersa.
  4. Not to make light of it, but.... The weather people are getting nearly a week of foreplay. The climax of the weathergasm may rival the weather itself.
  5. Be careful and inspect closely. Welding poor quality castings can yield a spider web of cracks.
  6. A bunch of the inspectors at work have switched from Streamlights to Ozark Trail. They work almost as well, and you can have 2 back-ups and a big package of batteries for the same money.
  7. Milk sandwiches, duh! Though the path projections I saw this morning show GA, SETN, and the Carolinas potentially getting a LOT of rain.
  8. Think of what it's gonna do before it even gets to Florida. Haiti never recovered from the last one that was half this size/strength. Cuba doesn't have hurricane adjusted building codes. None of those people have anywhere to go. They'll head up into the hills to escape the flooding, but there's sure to be massive mud slides. I saw this morning it's projected to turn north after Cuba. This isn't gonna end well. A friend used to live in Wilmington. He said the answer to a hurricane is so simple it's only one word.... leave.
  9. I miss James Best. I need to find some Dukes reruns.
  10. I'm nerdy and read the whole thing. And it makes sense. But is exactly what came to mind when I read category 6.
  11. I don't disagree (and that's funny!) but I think GT is perennially under rated. They're known to show up occasionally and give good teams fits.
  12. Grilled salmon with broccoli and pasta here. It was quite tasty.
  13. Wow. Completely believable, but wow.
  14. Dang. I can almost taste that. I've gotta get my smoker out soon.
  15. Welcome!
  16. Yep. And yep. I would so love to fly. It's just too damn expensive.
  17. Welcome!
  18. I found it slightly less expensive to get new 15" tires and wheels, compared to replacing 14" tires. Go figure.

    Sad day

    Sorry for your loss.
  20. My wife's birthday is Sunday. Nice of them to throw a holiday for her every year. We're going to a show at the Cumberland County Playhouse Saturday and probably a meal with family Sunday.
  21. I'd say they don't. There's people well informed enough to know that $x per barrel = $y at the pump. So when the pump prices go up more than crude prices, the gouge flag starts waving. With the storm, they have a good excuse to raise prices independent of crude prices. I won't disagree that there is some validity in the need to raise prices now, but I know how business people think and they're going to do what's best for their company, which is maximize profits while not appearing to take advantage of a very unfortunate situation. Up like a rocket, down like a feather.

    Glock Gen5.

    $101
  23. It'll get just a fraction past the point at which folks start fussing about gouging. Usage won't go down much so profits will be maximized. That's the sweet spot.
  24. I've gotten away from rechargeable desiccants. I get 2 lb tyvex bags from work. I toss one in the bottom of the safe about every year. When I did use rechargeable bags, I put them in the oven at about 250 for a couple hours. No noticeable smell. I would not put them in the microwave.
