  1. Welcome back.
  2. Somewhat hard to believe a glass makes a difference, but it does. And I'm trying to be a proper whisky snob.
  3. Haven't seen barrel proof. Their small batch is my favorite.
  4. Negative. The least it could do is snow if it's going to be this cold for this long. And it's cold enough that we'd actually get real snow, instead of the usual icy, slushy disaster.
  5. I'd call that either a loading tray or a clip. Kind of a clip/belt fed hybrid.
  6. I saw pics of Bald River Falls from yesterday where it was nearly frozen solid. Water was running down the ice but there was no "falls" in the expected sense.
  7. That was bad. This is better. You're welcome.
  8. Howdy from murvul. I'd like to find somewhere to shoot nearby as well, but it would seem that if you don't own the property or aren't part of the club, you're sol.
  9. Yep. The listed portion of the additional fee goes to whatever organization the plate is associated with.
  10. Fail. If you're gonna bring the cold, the least you could do is bring some snow to play in too.
  11. Howdy.
  12. Cool. I'd thought that tables, desks, etc. made from salvaged milsurp crates would be cool.
  13. Got this for Christmas, it's quite good. Smooth with a mild flavor. Nice on the rocks.
  14. Yep, you make a donation every time you renew. Same for all the "specialty" tags.
  15. Something I recently learned.... refresh your kit occasionally. Even something as simple as a bandaid on a booboo can be more difficult than it should be when all the wipes are dried out and the bandaids won't stick to anything.
  16. Mine is just a basic kit with a few big gauze pads. I've had basic first responder training but don't know how to use the fancy stuff.
  17. This is the first year rabbits have gotten into the garden. I've seen them around for several years. After they got the beans they nibbled on the cantaloupe, but I knew those wouldn't make it anyway so I didn't care. I'm wondering if the cantaloupe is what attracted them in the first place. That sounds like what happened. I really like zucchini, but I don't have the space for lots of plants since they get so big.
  18. Tough crowd. I'm a frickin engineer and I've learned to accept that Star Wars is fantasy and the laws of physics are only applied when convenient. The bomber sequence was very 8th Air Force in 1941 esque. I'm guessing that was on purpose. Yes, the Leia coming back to life while floating in space was more than a little dumb. But again, this is fantasy. I assume the reason she's still around will become apparent eventually. I assume Luke figured he could do more good as a martyr than as a teacher. That's pretty common in history. Clearly his teaching skills were lacking anyway. Rey's got the books, she'll be fine. The lack of explanation of anything about Snoke is a little disappointing, but as already mentioned, I assume his character was simply a medium through which Kylo takes over. The points of the Finn casino thing were to introduce Del Toro's character who will reappear I'm sure, for closure between Finn and Phasma, and to show the young slave boy's powers. I liked it. I'm happy they're going back to more organic sets and actual props instead of everything being computer generated. Episodes 1-3 are my least favorite, and that's one of the reasons why. I'm looking forward to the next one.
  19. Poor horse. It'd have to be stone deaf to not flinch when that rifle goes off.
  20. I've got a beat up old P85 thats never failed and is still more accurate than me.
  21. My garden was kinda disappointing this year. Yields in general were less than I expected and much less than I'd hoped. I went kinda light on the fertilizer, perhaps that's why. Didn't have enough tomatoes or cucumbers to justify canning anything. Froze a few bags of maters, made a bit of salsa, and just ate all the cucumbers. Dern rabbits ate ALL my green beans. One day they were a foot tall and doing great, and the next they were gone. Every. Single. Plant. One would hope that would produce some rabbit stew, but no luck there either. We wasted a lot of space on pumpkin and cantaloupe. We got exactly 1 pumpkin and 1 cantaloupe. I'll leave those to the big farms down the road next year. Okra did ok but I got lax about harvesting and ended up composting a bunch because it got tough. The zucchini went like crazy for about 2 weeks and then died suddenly. No idea why. The jalapeño was the sole exception. I had the hottest jalapeños I've ever eaten and one plant made hordes of them. I gave away lots of jalapeños. So overall, decidedly meh. We'll try again next year and do a few things different.
  22. Welcome!
  23. Specifically that exact size and exact capacity, yes. But there's lots of other guns within a couple rounds capacity and fractions of an inch that do exactly the same thing. Seems particularly odd that Ruger would market 3 models that are nearly identical... SR9, 9E, and now this.
  24. Looks like a refreshed SR9. Another fish in an already big pond.
  25. Send it, and your man card, to me.
