  1. No kidding. That just screams shoot me! I bet it was loud when it got hit.
  2. It's breeding season so they're likely eating more bugs than nectar. They need the extra protein to feed their babies.
  3. It's the speed of modern life. 50+ years ago, a large percentage of people would never hear of such events. Most wouldn't hear about it until weeks or months after it happened. Today, millions of people get live coverage while it's happening. And as you've stated, the talking heads have gotta talk about something. The nightly news used to be an hour a day (4% of the day). Now it's 24/7 (100%). That's quite an increase.
  4. Releasing the 3.6 should drive down the price of the 4.0. Good.
  5. Welcome!
  6. Welcome!
  7. Terrible stuff. I wonder if some kids have gotten so far removed from physical contact/interaction that the idea of a fist fight is more frightening to them than shooting someone? And yes, clearly another utter failure to provide anything resembling security. Sad times for everyone involved.
  8. Looks to be in great shape.

Think people have been bugging them about it? Amusing indeed.
  10. After trying everything to get rid of the weeds for a few years, I asked one of my cousins who's a pro landscape guy. He maintains one of the fancy gated communities near Charleston. His advice was to call the Green Lawn, Tru Green, etc. folks. That's the most affordable way. They have stuff not available to the homeowner. If your neighbors have weeds, so will you. I gave up after he told me that. Now, my yard is green and I mow it. I try to keep the flower beds looking decent, but I don't have the time/money/energy/interest to mess with the yard.
  11. The rest of the story... https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2018/5/9/no-changes-ruger-responds-to-shareholder-proposal/ "Please understand that Ruger was obligated by applicable law to include a shareholder’s activist resolution with its proxy materials for a shareholder vote. With its passage, the proposal requires Ruger to prepare a report. That’s it. A report. What the proposal does not do ... and cannot do ... is force us to change our business, which is lawful and constitutionally protected. What it does not do ... and cannot do ... is force us to adopt misguided principles created by groups who do not own guns, know nothing about our business, and frankly would rather see us out of business. As our CEO explained, “We are Americans who work together to produce rugged, reliable, innovative and affordable firearms for responsible citizens. We are staunch supporters of the Second Amendment not because we make firearms, but because we cherish the rights conferred by it. We understand the importance of those rights and, as importantly, recognize that allowing our constitutionally protected freedoms to be eroded for the sake of political expediency is the wrong approach for our Company, for our industry, for our customers, and for our country. We are arms makers for responsible citizens and I want to assure our long-term shareholders and loyal customers that we have no intention of changing that.”
  12. I've got a Tech Sights peep sight on mine, and I like it. I prefer peep sights anyway. I'd be more likely to use a forward mounted scout scope rather than the ones that mount to the dust cover, which is pretty flimsy. I'd definitely want/need some practice before hunting at 200 with the peep sights though.
  13. I think any of those would work fine for most needs. Don't know if you're as stingy with garage floor space as I am, but the Ryobi looks to have a really big footprint for a "small" pressure washer.
  14. I've got a bunch of clover in my yard and it comes back every year. Letting it go until the blooms turn brown -ish before mowing should help it spread, but it should come back on its own.
  15. I have a small Karcher electric pressure washer. I've had it at least 15 years and it still works fine. It's clearly light duty and isn't the fastest thing in the world, but it's small, cheap, and it works fine on decks, sidewalks, smokers, trailers, and the kids have fun drawing pictures on the driveway. If you've got 10k sqft of deck or intend to do something silly like pressure wash your entire driveway, you might want something bigger. It works for my needs.
  16. Make some chicken pot pie with the veggies.
  17. Cool. I'll have to add those to the list. http://www.bernardcornwell.net/about-the-sharpe-books/
  18. A Crosley Farm-O-Road. Cool. (The tag on the front made it easy). http://www.fourwheeler.com/features/1503-1950-crosley-farm-o-road-backward-glances/
  19. I assume it comes with a BCG and they check the headspace with go/NoGo gauges when they test fire it.
  20. Southern cooking 101. Take something with potential to be good for you and fry it with bacon grease and salt.
  21. Dang it... what's with the emoji's? Anyway... have her check this out.... https://heyjackass.com/home/
  22. Have her surf around this a bit.... https://heyjackass.com/home/
  23. I have a Delton AR, it runs fine. I've not stretched its legs to confirm longer range accuracy, but it makes holes where I expect them to be.
  24. I did the Legal Zoom thing and it worked for my purposes. My situation is fairly simple and I consider it mostly as a medium to convey my wishes. I don't expect there will be much squabbling over who inherits my hundreds. I got several copies notarized and stashed in a few locations. As I get older and situations change, I do expect to go the route Garufa suggests at some point down the road.
  25. Exactly. It has little to do with guns and a lot to do with mail bombs.
