Now if you would have said the most a Republican lost since Watergate, then that would have been a true statement, but the spin just isn't there. This is the same thing that the media does, putting out half truths to see what sticks.

I think what you would see is the 94 assault weapons ban on steroids. The supreme court would do nothing unless it were challenged. In 2016 the supreme court rejected challenges to assault weapon bans in Connecticut and New York. That's not a good track record to hang your hat on.

Listening to Chicago radio last week. A city councilman was on talking about new rules being considered for police. The police have always had to fill out a report for every weapon discharge. Now they want to to do the same for every time they unholster their weapon. The councilman went as far as saying "we need to find out why our police officers are so trigger happy". Yes there are bad cops, but as the saying goes don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I think city government needs to work with the police and not be an enemy of the police. Thanks Obama for the rhetoric.

I was indeed nice to meet up with Bersaguy. Had many stories that I enjoyed listening too, at the expense of what was on the stove, I'm sorry to say. I do like the gun, it's a .327. I was really surprised by the magnum rounds, felt almost like a .357 round. The 32 S&W long was more like a bunny fart.

How does one walk into school with a long gun let alone a shotgun? And yes, when I was in school, many many years ago, I was bullied and had my own guns, never thought once about taking it inside to school. There were plenty of guns in the parking lot at school as well. Schools were run differently, I was never whacked in class by a teacher, but it did happen, even in my last year of high school. Was that right or wrong?? I don't know, but there was discipline and consequences. I have tried to teach my daughters right from wrong. My youngest just graduated from college. I'm very grateful that I was able to send my girls to private school (religious) where there was a lot expected of them as students. A lot of people can't afford private schools and I get that, but I went to a religious private school as well and my parents did not even graduate from high school, but they were determined that their children were going to. It's all about priorities.

Well the good thing is that she has taken kraw maga in the past and will be doing it again this summer. I'm just doing research and due diligence as a father. Trying to read the gun laws for Chicago is brutal. I told my wife that at one time Chicago had a law that every gun had to be registered and that you could not register a hand gun, say what???? That was their was of banning hand guns. That was struck down in the SC decision. I won't push my daughter, never could do that anyway. I will just inform her that one is always available is she ever wants it. I will look into pepper spray and possibly a taser or similar. I think I will advise her to apply for a foid, just in case.

My 22 year old daughter is wanting to move to Chicago. As a child she enjoyed shooting but now she does not want anything to do with guns (just graduated from college). I would like her to take a hand gun to keep in her apartment. I would get her a pistol safe that could be secured in a closet or somewhere. I have looked at the area she is hoping to move to and it is a good area, as far as Chicago goes. She will have a roommate, another 22 year old girl. The other girl lived in Chicago last summer during an internship. Any suggestions or gotcha's that i should be concerned about? I know she will have to apply for a foid.

As an experiment I asked my 17 year old what she thought the percentage of the population is gay. Her response was between 40 and 50 percent. She came up with that number based on the amount of rhetoric on the subject and amount of in your face activity. She was surprised when I told her it is around 4 percent. They are winning.

We as a gun society, TGO, should do nothing but condemn the actions of the shooter if the facts show what is being reported is true.  The texting and altercation is being reported to have taken place before the start of the movie.  Before a movie starts talking and texting should not be a problem.   If all the guy did was throw popcorn at the guy then there is no way that he can be in fear of his life, different if the guy came after him.   We, who have an HCP have a greater responsibility to avoid conflict, especially trivial conflict.
