  1. Interesting. Guess you can't make that a primary business. Would be hard to make a living buying/selling 5 cars a year off craigslist in a year... well, depending on what you're selling. NY is 12 per year. Minnesota says if your gross receipts are over $50k/year then you're a dealer. (May have changed, that was years ago.) But this issue is state defined, not federal and luckily, I don't need a federal car dealers license...... not yet, anyway... Yup. Until the state of TN (or whatever state I'm living in) defines a number, It's my right to do it. Nowhere in the 2nd amendment does it say we have a right to bear a reasonable amount of arms. BTW, I'm not closed minded. If the law says it, I'll abide by it. If I don't like it, I vote to change it.
  2. Well thank you for posting the government definition of "engaged in business." Yet nowhere in there did it define a "reasonable" number. And this: Once again, no number defined yet you say anything over 30 seems like a dealer to you. It's one thing if there's a licensed dealer at a booth selling 20 guns. But there's nothing wrong with a guy getting rid of his collection of 40 guns. Maybe that person doesn't have long to live and wants to sell them. What are you gonna say? get an FFL or go to jail?
  3. Define "engaged in the business." A person couldn't sell 29 guns at each gun show he/she goes to? Who defines how many guns bought/sold is a business? "pretty reasonable"? OK.... How about defining how many cars I can buy/sell before I should become a dealer? Yup, IBTL
  4. You like BBQ? Tony Gore's !!!
  5. I have a liberal friend but the only legitimate conversation I can have with him is about sports and weather. If it's politics or religion then it just degrades into an obscenity laced-name calling tirade (from him ) so we have agreed to disagree and don't even bring those subjects up. (How liberal is he? well, he thinks Obama is too Conservative ) As for the liberal gun club website, I went to their "Our Positions" page and saw all I need to see: "Private sellers need to be clearly labeled" So the next time I go to a gun show you better have a label that says, "Hi, I'm a private seller." "Restrict the number of firearms sold by the private seller to less than 30 firearms at any one show." So what? I can't buy 1 gun from 31 different private sellers and walk out of there with 31 guns?? What does this accomplish? And this: "It is our belief that while we have the right to keep and bear arms responsibly, when that right begins to encroach on the rights of others it needs to be held in check." 'nuff said...
  6. I'm heading to the nearest airport and making the control tower my "home." Good view, Should have a decent generator, should have a few good antennas to hook up my ham radio, Would have facilities, and most important... way up there! Can lock the bottom door and the top so zombies shouldn't be a problem. Climate controlled tower with tinted windows. Perfect! Unless, of course, the zombies are flying planes!!
  7. Both on GM (Government Motors) vehicles. Oh, the irony.......
  8. Yes. I have food insurance so I'm prepared for months of the apocalypse. BTW: No offense, but have you read the nutrition label on Spam? You will be dead after the 5th can! Thing is, we don't know what type of zombie we're dealing with. The slow type like in "Dawn Of The Dead", or the aggressive type like in "Resident Evil." .22 may be sufficient if you're accurate.
  9. Right... and even if they recognize our HCP, it's a long way to get there. Would have to go thru Missouri and Iowa. Or take a chance on going thru IL.
  10. That's how it is when planning.... everyone likes the idea of a get together. And during the survey, we all put in when and where was best for us. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out in the end for everyone. Those in Memphis or Tri-Cities can't/won't make a 200+ mile trip. For me it's about 170 miles. And since I work just about every Saturday, (unless I give a months notice) I would get there just as everyone's leaving. Sorry, but I won't be able to make it. But for those who do make it, have fun and post pics!
  11. Tried it, didn't like it. I told "friends" to e-mail or call.... and don't e-mail me with a stupid Facebook comment like, "I just went to Starbucks and had a latte." I could care less. Don't like how Facebook defaults to zero privacy when you sign up, or when they roll out new updates. In case any users didn't hear about the new facial recognition, might want to read this: Facebook Turns On Facial Recognition, Prompting Concern | News & Opinion | PCMag.com Apparently it's turned on... they just "forgot" to tell you!
  12. Report anyone? Debating on going Sunday.... or should I just save my money?
  13. So I'm grilling some burgers and drinking a beer and I'm as bad as a drug user?? ;)
  14. I have. i got up at 7 just to see if I missed anything. Now it's off to ham-fest and then the gun show if I still have any money left.
  15. Not me. He didn't get my vote. But since it has come to this, I think this forum needs to be accessed by registered users only. The general public might stumble upon this forum and become offended and distressed by most of our avatars. All these guns!!!! :P
  16. Hammered?? But still doesn't answer DaveTN's question.... how much alcohol did it take? Inquiring minds want to know... lest we cross that line.
  17. For me, it will probably take 9 beers cus I'm on my 8th and I'm about ready to go off :D I'm not on here for two days and find this? 16 pages of this??? NICE!! And to add my Tim Horton's coffee and bagels Honey Dew Donuts (Sorry.... having yankee flashbacks )
  18. Cats = global warming = more cats = more global warming = What a vicious cycle. I have no cats. I'm doing my part!
  19. Great idea! I took the survey.
  20. Pulled over because of an NRA bumper sticker? Ummmm.... maybe in NY.
  21. Jay Leno said it best when he said he has this global warming thing figured out.... in the summer it's hot and in the winter it's cold. Wasn't it a couple years ago when Bill Clinton said it's summer which means it global warming for Al Gore.
  22. Southern Culture On The Skids, "Voodoo Cadillac"
  23. Haven't been too impressed with the shows at Chilhowee Park. If there's rave reviews then maybe I'll go Sunday. As for Saturday, I plan on being at the hamfest in Knoxville.
  24. Easy: Desert Eagle .50AE
  25. "Cardboard Cut-Out Sundown" -- Captain Beefheart
