  1. I remember when I joined the Air Force, my Dad said "you're in for a REAL surprise.  You have no idea."  He was right but I have no regrets.  At the time, college just wasn't for me.
  2. One hour from Murfreesboro? How about Monteagle? Beautiful area!
  3. I'm running a rooted Galaxy S3 with NET10 on AT&T. $50/month unlimited everything. They say you'll get throttled back after 2GB's but I've yet to see that happen. I've had this now for a year and 2 months. No complaints and no plans on switching.
  4. Headline on yahoo; https://www.yahoo.com/health/why-ramen-noodles-could-cut-your-life-short-94747327572.html
  5. Pork flavored ramen. Good but way too much sodium. If I'm going to die from a bad diet then I'll die at Waffle House.
  6. I dumped Facebook years ago. The "friends" I had seem to revert into a bunch of 10th graders with their "he said/she said" gossip. When I deleted my account, one of my friends asked, "how do I get in touch with you?" I replied, "the phone." Another asked me if I was on twitter... nope. Birds tweet, I don't.
  7. Range prices are on the high side. :2cents:  Maybe the prices will come down.  Until then, my range time will be at Smoky Mtn Firearms or Sevier Indoor.
  8. :stir: At least the comments are entertaining
  9. That Bersa 380 is a good choice. It was recommended to me when I first got my HCP and is still my EDC.
  10. Try using the FoxFi app.  Works well for me but depends on your carrier.
  11. Nice place but my only complaint is the lighting in there is bad.  You need a flashlight to look inside the cars.   But the old cars were easy to work on.  $20 mechanical fuel pump and a $5 inline fuel filter easily changed compared to today's all-in-one pump/filter costing up to $300 not including the fun of dropping the gas tank.  Also no computers on those old cars.  If it didn't start, it was usually an easy fix.  Now if it don't start, you end up towing it to the dealer only to find some sensor died or your anti theft/immobilizer unit lost it's programming.  (Had a 98 Taurus SHO that I towed to the dealer cus it wouldn't start.  The key wouldn't communicate with the computer. $100 for the tow, $80 for key, $200 to reprogram the module.  I sold it right after that)
  12. Thanks Patton   I'll have to check them out and see which one has the right feel.
  13. So in addition to Sevier Indoor, we also have Bud's & Smoky Mountain Firearms.  Competition is a good thing :pleased: Any word on when the range at Bud's will be open?
  14. And in NYC they put the letter "r" at the end of almost everything: Coca-cola = Coca-colar Jamaica = Jamaicar Law = Lawr (pronounced "loor") And since I used to live in MN, I'll pick on them too; "How about a can of pop, eh?"
  15. Thanks all for the responses.  :hat:    Ex military.  Didn't stay in long enough to retire.   I do like the extra capacity of the Witness.  I like the compact for carry.  Nothing against big guns, I have a Desert Eagle .50 but I'm not gonna carry it.   This was my concern.  Their website doesn't give much info on warranty other than "send it in & we'll bill you."   A couple questions on the Glock: 1) Any difference between Gen 3 and Gen 4? 2) G29 & G29SF... what's the "SF"?
  16. My next gun purchase is going to be a 10mm.  Why? Because 1) everytime I go into Bass Pro there's plenty of ammo in stock and 2) I don't have one (which is reason enough to buy it :pleased: ) So the two guns I'm looking at are the Glock 29 and EAA Witness P Compact. No problem finding info on Glock but has anyone had any experience with EAA? Any problems with warranty? accuracy? etc.  I'm leaning towards EAA only because of price but if it's a "high maintenance" gun then I'll join the Glock club.
  17.   Unfortunately, the days of "a la carte" programming are long gone.  You could do that back in the good ol days of having a 10 foot satellite dish in your yard and just paying for the channels you wanted from your choice of program providers.  I remember paying about $8-$10/month for the channels that I actually watched.  Sigh.....
  18. Thing is with Comcast, speeds vary by package.  I have the basic package and "blast" internet.  When I added the sports package, my speeds dropped to 6-10mbps.  i was told the only way to get sports AND high speed internet was to get the triple play package.  I dropped the sports pack.  Don't need it that bad. FWIW, I just did a speed test on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (4G LTE) 34.6 down / 6.4 up .... almost as good as Comcast!  :stir:
  19.         Here's my results: speedtest.net = 21.37 down / 11.51 up speedtest.comcast.net = 56.19 down / 12.01 up (done immediately after the first one) I think Comcast wants me to believe that I get what I'm paying for.   :squint:  (I pay for 50mbps)
  20. If this was me, I would have been locked up in Rikers Island, never to be heard from again.   http://nypost.com/2014/07/23/ex-knick-raymond-felton-admits-to-felony-but-avoids-jail/   18 rounds of body armor piercing bullets.  :stunned:
  21. Well this has been a good read! Never heard of Precision so don't know anything about them, but now I can save myself a trip. I just can't believe the owner wouldn't apologize for the email.... heck, he could have blamed someone else and said that one of the employees did it and has been dealt with. But no.... he seems to keep digging a deeper hole. This would be like going to a new car dealer and questioning the price on a car when another dealer has it cheaper only to have the salesman tell you that you're to stupid to understand pricing.
  22. Depends on the company. Schneider National requires it and they don't care what your age is. And some, like Knight Transportation, require a stress test. And some are very lenient. If you can walk into the exam room and not be out of breath, you passed. Also, if you wear glasses, you will need to have a second pair with you. Blood pressure is the main thing. If it's high, the doctor will check it again in about 5 minutes. If it's still high, then they will tell you to come back the next day to test again. If it's high for 3 consecutive days then you fail. Just don't drink any of that Hi-Test coffee from Pilot and you'll be ok!!
  23. Just my opinion but when I see the words "gun limit" that's a red flag. Then vote for someone to change it. But until a law has been passed that says I can only sell X amount of guns in X amount of time, then so be it. It's obvious that we're not going to change each others mind. I'll agree to disagree. But I'm glad you put your views out there because I only know a few liberals and they are anti-gun. And by now they would be calling me every name in the book.....
  24. So buy all you want at once but don't sell them all at once??? I see nothing accomplished by this!
  25. So you don't have a problem with a person buying 100 guns but you have a problem with someone selling 31 guns? And what's this "30 is a LOT of guns for a non-dealer to be selling"? Once again, your opinion. You want what you think is "common sense" gun legislation then call your elected officials.
