  1. The IRS has really changed the rules for tax write offs to charity.  Years ago, I donated my Saab with a salvage title and the transmission slipping.  They gave me a tax form showing a $3300 value. :stunned:  Can't do that anymore.    I just drive mine til it's dead then scrap it.   Don't have time to deal with the Craigslist "no shows" and tire kickers offering me half my asking price.  Besides, I buy all my vehicles with blown head gaskets and fix them.  If I get 2 years out of them, I'm happy.  It's been 5 years since I fixed my Rover and 2 years since I fixed my Volvo.  :pleased:

  3.   When your at the dealer and see the gun you like, you call the insurance company and give them all the info.  They will fax your updated policy to the dealer so they can sell you the gun.  What would really suck is if your purchase is denied then you have to call the insurance co. and cancel your policy.   See how easy that is? :puke: And BTW, no more gun shows on the weekend... what agent is gonna sit in the office all weekend and write policies for guns?
  4. Leave it to a NY lib to come up with this:   http://thehill.com/regulation/243425-house-bill-would-require-gun-owners-to-carry-insurance   Can I get full coverage like I do with my car?  I'd like full replacement value in case something happens to my gun. :squint:
  5. When I first got Comcast, the rep suggested I avoid the modem lease fee by getting one at Radio Shack.  (Why pay $7/month when I can buy it for $50?) No issues after 3 years.  I've found the key to Comcast is to go to their office and deal with them directly.  Don't call the toll free number, all you get is a script reader.  I found this out the hard way.  The script reader screwed everything up (put me in a package I didn't want and dropped my internet speed)  I went to Knoxville and got it straightened out.  The rep apologized and gave me 3 free months of Showtime and free DVR for a year.  And yes, occasionally there's a defective unit.  I got an extra receiver and it was dead right out of the box.  Had to go back and get a new one.
  6. Knoxville, June 13th. Lots of guns!!  :woohoo:    http://www.powellauction.com/auctions/firearm/47 Of course the rules:  http://www.powellauction.com/auctions/view_file/firearm/41 Don't know if this is cash only.  If they take credit cards then I might be in debt for some time!  :pleased:
  7. It took a day of "examining" the photo but I noticed something in the background .... there's snow! She must be used to cold weather cus it doesn't seem to affect her (from what I see :D )
  8. Ronnie Milsap "Misery Loves Company" This is his final year of touring.  His last stop is at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge on Dec 5.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abs5AM0k4VA
  9. Sevier County. :stalk: The old military slogan "hurry up and wait." :snore:
  10. Wow... I'm 2 for 2 :ugh: When did that open? Last time i checked locations on their website, I typed in "TN" and it showed Atlanta area and Asheville.
  11. Thanks.... guess the pawn shop I went to when I moved here was misinformed.
  12. Welcome.  :hat:  If I remember correctly, you need to establish residency in TN (30 days) before you can purchase a firearm.  You can't just get your drivers license then head for the gun store.  At least that's what I was told when I moved here 6 years ago.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong... As for the trip down, just avoid NYC.  Take the MassPike to I-84 to I-81.  No one will mess you on 84 in NY (I used to live there) then you're pretty much "free" with the exception of 12 miles in Maryland. Hope you like Waffle House, BBQ and boiled peanuts.  Closest Boston Market is Atlanta or Asheville.
  13. Yes, I'm free from my relatives. That's why I moved to TN.  :P
  14. And if there's any twinkies in that pantry, Carol better leave the window open for Woody Harrelson.
  15. Kinderhook (Columbia County) just south of Albany.  My annual property tax here would be a monthly payment in NY. :stare:

    Dollywood

Your best time to go to Dollywood is Mon-Thur.  Traffic is horrible Fri -Sun.  Stop at Kroger on your way in and load up with drinks and snacks.
  17. What a great episode... the dark side of Carol, Sasha is losing it, and Rick is hitting on a married woman.  Wonder if PETA will throw a fit over the fate of Buttons?
  18. Welcome comrade. :hat:  I escaped the Republic 6 years ago.  I've lived in 7 states & this is the best move yet.
  19. Sunny & 57.  Cleaned up all the fallen branches and other debris in my yard.  Looks like a wet week ahead.... right into next weekend.
  20. :meh: I don't pay much attention to time.  I eat when I'm hungry, sleep when I'm tired, and work when I have to.
  21. Yup.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/86377-nevada-couple-denied-right-to-foster-a-child-because-they-have-gun-permits/
  22. Depends on the computer. I have a Mac and the only thing I put on it was Firefox. (Don't really care for Safari)
  23. Probably someone from the community.  Aaron said that they had been monitoring his group for a while. Also when Rick put that gun in the blender, there wasn't anyone around. But when he went back, that walker came out from beneath the pile of garbage.  Guess the other walkers woke it up.
  24. Rick is the Constable? He sounded more like the governor when he said,"If they don't make it, we'll take this place."   When Rick was taking a shower, I was waiting them to show one of the gay guys being a peeping Tom.  :stalk:   And it looks like there's someone for Carl :dirty:
