  1. Agreed. You see lots of magnetic ribbons on vehicles like Support Our Troops , POW_MIA, breast cancer, etc. There's a sticker for every thing but that money doesn't go anywhere except to the sellers pocket. Look at all the ones for sale on eBay. I haven't seen any that says "proceeds will be donated." A better idea would be to get the "Support Our Troops" license plate. At least the proceeds go somewhere. Are green headlights legal? I'll show my support this way  B)
  2. No thanks to our state insurance commissioner: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/31/us/politics/many-may-find-unpleasant-surprise-on-healthcaregov-high-rate-increases.html  seriously?? :shake:
  3. And bring a decent amount of cash.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think they go from about $90 on up.
  4. I've had MRE's and they weren't too bad.  :tough:    My tuna says expiration 05/2018 so that's about 2 1/2 years.  The Campbells chunky soup says 09/2017 so just under 2 years.  Maybe it is good for 5+ years but I'm not gonna find out.  I might :puke: then :death:    However, I'll be more than happy to open a bottle of Scotch after 10 years.
  5. Tell me.  I kept my old plan up until they dropped me.  They tried to get me to sign up but when I saw the premiums & deductibles, I said I'll wait. So now my premium is double and my deductible is triple what I had under my old "non compliant" plan.   At this rate, my premium will be higher than my mortgage in a few years.
  6. When Eugene finally admitted to not knowing what the cure is, Abraham said something like "I wasted 2 years of my life."  So I'm assuming it's been at least 2 years. And I don't know of any canned goods that last 2 years so they better look for a military base and load up on MRE's.
  7. Yes! An extra hour of drinking sleep! :pleased:
  8. Anyone else get a notice about their premiums going up?  I did.  Going up 37% starting Jan '16.  It says I should go to HealthCare(dot)gov and compare plans to find something cheaper.  Problem is, their website is down..... typical government :poop:
  9. So I can use pumpkins as kindling? Nice!
  10. As long as we're analyzing the apocalypse, how long has it been? 2-3 years?  I'm curious because gasoline doesn't have much of a shelf life and there's no power for the gas pumps so I'd like to know how they're running around in cars, RV's and a motorcycle?
  11. Says this shmuck in his op-ed:  http://www.knoxnews.com/opinion/columnists/jc-abbott-americans-should-stand-up-to-the-nra_57890003   Really?  For this first 2 years of the Obama administration, the Democrats controlled everything.  Republicans couldn't stop anything.  They had the perfect opportunity to restrict gun ownership but they didn't... not enough "anti-gun" Dems.  And why does this need to be done on the federal level?  If commie states like NY, MA, NJ, CA, etc want those restrictions then they have that right just as Vermont has a right not to require a carry permit for its residents.  But apparently this author thinks gun rights activists are "misinformed." :screwy:
  12. Looks like they can keep us guessing for another year: http://www.amc.com/shows/the-walking-dead/talk/2015/10/amc-renews-the-walking-dead-and-talking-dead
  13. Nothing. I'm not a kid anymore and I'm not into the commercialization of Christmas..... unless I find a killer deal on a 60" TV for me. :) :)
  14. No. They stopped in 2000.
  15. Not really interested. I'm a Red Sox fan and they were out of it back in June. I also like any team that's playing against the Yankees as I loathe, despise and hate the Yankees!! I'll admit tho I'm slowly warming up to the Braves. ;)
  16. That's not their concern. They passed a law that shows they care. They're liberals... that's what they do.
  17. Well I'm too cheap frugal to spend big $$$ for a movie theater.  Let me know when it's released on LD. :waiting:

  19. Is Glenn really dead?? From io9: http://io9.com/god-damn-you-to-hell-the-walking-dead-1738671259 Interesting opinion but since Nicholas killed himself, why would the walkers feast on a dead body?  Also Glenn wasn't completely covered by Nicholas, his head was visible. Then again, blood wasn't spewing out of Glenn's mouth (as would be expected when being devoured) and those entrails seemed kind of high up to be Glenn's ... :dunno: :stare:    Guess we'll find out in the weeks to come.
  20. Click the link and I get: Kept it or sold it?     Nothing wrong with that.  Better than most of the CL ads that don't even have a picture and the ad says "it need work, text for info."
  21. Minimum post count is a good idea.  And since the new members thread doesn't count towards the post count, that means a newbie couldn't go there and say "hi" to 5 or 10 people just to sell something.
  22. Jessie had her first kill.... wonder if she will become the next Carol? They both had an abusive husband and look how Carol evolved.
  23. Hope the neighbors won't mind when I do mine. :pleased:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n9Ebx-bXLI
  24. Southworst?? Are they really that bad? Been awhile since I've flown but I never had an issue with them.
  25. Hillbilly Auto Parts in Strawberry Plains. They were the cheapest & did a great job. 2 years later and no leaks. Even with a pressure washer. :)
