  1. Your questions answered: http://www.bcbst.com/why-bcbst/about-us/news-center/2017rates.page In case the link doesn't work, here's most of the questions and answers: Why are rates going up so much next year? It's our fault. We set prices too low and the correction is leading to sticker shock. I didn't have many claims. So why are my rates going up? To satisfy the subsidies and make up for people gaming the system. What am I getting for my premiums? Peace of mind knowing you're on the good side of the IRS When will I know for sure what my 2017 plan will cost? When you see your postal carrier at your mailbox laughing How can I learn about different plan options? A week before the election, open enrollment begins. Find something cheap. How will tax credits, or subsidies, impact my rate? A lot. Get a lower paying job and you'll find out. Are you using this as an excuse to earn higher profits? Seriously? We're offended. We're on your side. Why are you not using your reserves to make premiums lower? We have to look out for our own first. What are you doing to control costs? Hiring illegal immigrants and outsourcing the call center to Indonesia. Are 2017 rates going up to recoup losses from previous years? Nope. That was a tax write off. What happens if BlueCross keeps losing money on the Marketplace? Simple....we abandon ship. There's always Humana (for now). What are you doing to help members get healthier? Higher premiums of course. You'll have less to spend on beer, cigs, candy, etc.
  2. Except for TGO where a transaction from the classifieds leads to a 2 hour face to face conversation.
  3. If you're in a contract, you won't get an increase until after it's up. Yup.... The additional charges (at least on my bill) are HD Technology fee, broadcast tv fee, sales tax, franchise fee, FCC fee. Adds about another $20 to the monthly bill.
  4. I wonder if the campsites will look and smell like Woodstock...
  5. That's OK... they have the jumbo-tron.
  6. Probably more people will be at this event than any recent NASCAR race. From what I've read, they've sold out. Anyone going? Impressive how they're transforming the track....
  7. But what about the cheap co-pay on generic pain killers? You're missing out!
  8. From that link, "most Tennesseans will pay under $75 a month." Am I missing something? I'd LOVE to know how to get on that plan.... As it stands now I'll dump my insurance at the end of the year.
  9. Don't call the 800 number. They are script readers. Deal with them in person. Was told I could save a few bucks by using my own modem (why lease theirs?) and got everything without a contract. I did a self install so I didn't have to wait for them. They just turned it on at the pole. I've had them for about 3 years now and no issues. The power could go out and I'd still have cable and internet. DirecTV and Dish had one good feature.... I could always tell when a severe thunderstorm was headed my way because I'd get the "signal loss" message.
  10. I don't need ramps to change the oil and filter on my Land Rover and the A/C is still intact. No thanks. I get enough of that in the winter. But it doesn't take long for the heated seats to take care of that.
  11. Back when I lived in NY, there were lots of those at the state vehicle auction. I could never bid on one because all the NY city taxi drivers would come upstate and run the bidding thru the roof. They'd go for at least $4k and all those cruisers were junk. Bad engine, transmission, rear end, you name it.
  12. Gummie bears? I thought that was a 90's thing. I need to get out more often....
  13. Looks like my options are to force an upgrade to 6.0.1 or get that phone you linked to. The specs are about the same and it looks like it has less on it. There's one on eBay with 32gb at a current bid of $149 (reserve not met) think I'll watch it....
  14. My bad.... I forgot to mention that this is an unlocked phone. It's on NET10 but uses the AT&T signal. Don't know if that makes a difference....
  15. It says developer mode has already been turned on but there's nothing there that shows root access. And hours of searching tells me there's no hope. I may just go back to my S3. It's rooted and just sitting here collecting dust since I "upgraded" to an S5
  16. <~off topic~> I'd like to root my phone but apparently it's about impossible to do that on a Galaxy S5 on AT&T. CyanogenMod won't work. Neither does towelroot or iRoot. There's a great app called XPrivacy to block app permissions but it will only work on a rooted phone. Had no problem rooting my old S3 but apparently AT&T has put some type of boot image signing.
  17. Anyone go? Any deals or same different day? Didn't want to pay just to walk around showing off my TGO shirt and tumbler. (though it is tempting)
  18. Looks like twitter wants to take over my phone
  19. If you don't care for her music, turn down the volume. It's a good video though. The moral is never accept an invite from a stranger. (I've got one of her earlier albums which was acoustical-folk music, but guess she went electronic )
  20. Don't need to sign up to read the stories, however it is tempting to get an account so I can leave my true, uncensored opinions on pages like Fear The Walking Dead, TWD, Preacher, etc, and positive opinions on Better Call Saul. Probably better than using the "rants and raves" on Craigslist. Are you allowed to be anonymous on there? I see one name next to a persons avatar but the "@______" is different.
  21. So THIS is the way George Bush made Katrina hit New Orleans! We heard it from Louis Farrakhan, now we have proof! Maybe they can aim it above my house and create a micro-burst to level my home. I'd like to build a new one.
  22. What?!?!?!? That did it, I'm outta here! JK.... I'll stay here, I'm already guilty by association. Actually, it's because I've never tried it. Their privacy policy looks better than FB and Instagram (one in the same) but I don't care for the 140 character limit and all the #@#@#@#@#. Don't need an account to go to their home page and see what's going on.
