    Price on Sig P229

New or used, local dealer or online? If you buy brand new, and depending on where you buy, (in my area) you are probably looking from $700-800 NIB, before tax, etc.. If you do a bit of online shopping, perhaps on sigforum.com, you may find NIB $650-750 before transfer. Used is really dependent on the gun's amount of use and the seller but I've seen LNIB 229Rs sell online for $550-$650. I love Sigs, goodluck and happy hunting. BTW, When you mentioned laser slide did you mean laser grips? If so your looking at a bit more $ respectively whether new or used.
  2. I'll probably go. I think meadowview is the best for the area. I just enjoy looking and occasionally there will be a different vendor or something new on a table. I rarely buy anything. I'm hoping to find some P-Mags but I'm sure they'll be marked up. The thing I don't understand about the shows is that you can visit a local shop and find better deals.
  3. I had some of GA Arms .40S&W +P 180.gr Gold Dots and they functioned flawlessly through my Sig 229.
  4. thanks guys
  5. I prefer Krydex, specifically Comp-Tac. I buy a CTAC for every pistol I own. The CTAC just works for me.
  6. I've heard good things about Enos, but I've heard that you do need to be aware of the temps and planned use depending on the grease as in lighter grease for cold temps, thicker for high round count use, etc. I tried some Tetra-Grease for a while and I was pleased with it. I've sinced been using the bulk tubes of Wally World white lithium multi-purpose grease. It's cheap, slippery, and stays around for a while.....[insert comment about my preference in women here].

    Walther PPS

I saw one on Saturday at Gunslingers in Kingsport, TN. They had it tagged for $561.99, I believe. It was a neat little pistol, the first one I've had a chance to see in person. I was really suprised at how slim it was. I spoke to Greg at Gunslingers and he said this is the second PPS they've had and the first sold days after the shop recieved it. I'm intested in getting one particularly for my wife but that depends on her and her preference.
  8. My last transfer was from Gunslingers for a handgun and the transfer, plus tax, and TBI included was $31.90.
  9. One difference that I've noticed is that 11-87 will shoot 2 3/4" and 3" rounds and the 1100s I've seen are only 2 3/4." I don't know if that's true for all 1100s.
  10. Welcome, glad you made it over from the sigforum. It's always good to have a fellow Sig fan around.
  11. I have to go to Franklin for a wedding on 29th, I may stop by on my way back to the Tri-Cities on the 30th.
  12. My father and I used a piano dolly (maybe it was an appliance dolly?) and it would have been impossible without it. That having been said my safe was smaller than 700lbs. I'd say try to contact some of these individuals that move pianos, etc. Goodluck, I'll be corssing my fingers for the tommy lift or lift gate on the delivery truck for you.

  14. Thanks for the replies, I've shot DPX a little and I like it. I found some 230gr. Gold Dots today and I picked up a box of DPX as well to try out. I appreciate all of the suggestions.
  15. I'm looking for a round to carry. My current choice is a Speer Gold Dot 200gr. +P but it's becoming impossible to find local. This will be for CCW fired from a 4" barrel. What do you guys suggest?
  16. I'll pick up a copy of Combat Handguns and Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement occasionally depending on what's inside, same goes for Small Arms Review depending on the subject matter. I recently subsrcibed to SWAT, now I'm no operator or mall ninja, just an average street cop, but I enjoy the articles, reviews, and especially the training information. I got interested in the mag after seeing articles done by or about Tactical Repsonse.
  17. lol, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start anything. I was just saying that, in my opinion, I'd go with the G21 because I like it. I also like the USP .45 but personally the G21 shoots better, for me. That having been said, I'm a 220 guy and when I need high cap I pop in a 10 round extended mag!
  18. Based on the criteria, I'd say G21 or G21SF. I'm a P220 worshiper and a previous HK45 owner, but I was looking to buy a hi-cap .45 it would be the G21 series.

    Sig P250

I'm a Sig fan and I've been looking to see one in person. Allegedly, it's approximately the size of a Glock 19. I'm interested to get my hands on one to check it out.

    new blaster

Very nice, did you get the stainless or Nitron finish? Excellent choice, I fondled a GSR Revolution today. They are quite nice. Enjoy, I look forward to a range report.
  21. Yeah, while in Kingsport, KK is a must. I declare a moment of silence for the Bristol KK....silence.... Anyways, I had the nickname way before the career but it is appropriate, and ironic. Again, thank you all for the warm welcome.
  22. A 220 Carry SAS would be a dream. I have a 220R Carry DAK enroute to my FFL as we speak, I've wanted a Carry since they came out. I've yet to get any trigger time with a SAO. From what I hear it's pretty nice.
  23. The beavertail took some time getting used to. Once I warmed up to it actually feels good to the hand while shooting. The guns does look unbalanced considering the short grip. The 220 Carry has the same barrel length but the standard 220 grip and I think it looks more balanced. For me, the benefit of the 220 Compact is the fact of the shorter grip which allows a skinny guy like me to successfully conceal under a variety of conditons.
  24. My one and only, modest contribution, although it's not very evil looking.
  25. I'm really impressed with my 220 Compact. I previously had a 245 and sold it in a moment of stupidity so the 220 Compact filled the void. I couldn't locate a model specific holster so I've been using a 229R holster that seems to work fine for now. The shorter grip is an advantage for concealment for me. I also have a 220R and I appreciate the ability to use full size mags in the Compact. I personally believe the Compact shoots as well as the fullsize with a pinch more recoil.
