Sweet! That came out the year I graduated high school. I haven't heard that song in years. Brings back a lot of memories of my teen years & good times with friends. One of my favorite soundtracks on my computer is from "Empire Records". "The Cranberries", "Toad the Wet Sprocket", "No Doubt", & "Better Than Ezra" were topping the Billboards back then.

These were actually manufactured by Beretta (not by Wilson), but to Wilson's requested specs which are tighter than standard 92's. The slide to frame fit & stainless match barrels have a better fit, similar to the 92G-SD models. Then Beretta ships them to WC to have the grips, etc. installed. There's been talk of Beretta bringing back some of the older Brig models, but with these improved tolerances when they make the move to TN, but it's not set in stone yet.

Nice! Beretta did a good job on the WC Brigs. I wish they would re-release (is that a word :ugh: ) the Brigadier Elite or Elite II models though.

Here's a good read about the APX. http://gearscout.militarytimes.com/2015/02/27/beretta-apx-pre-release-walk-through/

Have you ever checked out a Beretta Cheetah (model 84 -double stack mags or 85FS - single stack mags)? They're incredibly reliable & have great ergonomics. While you can find them in many prices ranges depending on condition, here's a model 85 on GB that appears to be in prime condition. I've seen many in this condition go for $700-$800. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=470166608 Here's a model 84 Cheetah - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=470171378

Today is indeed a sad day for Sci-Fi fans all around the world. :(

+1. My dad carries his single stack mags in a Gerber or Victorinox multi-tool pouch. You'd never know it was a spare mag on his hip.

I prefer my Bianchi AccuMold single & double magazine pouches over plastic. I'm in the back country a lot & like having a cover over my mags to help keep them from catching on limbs, brush, etc... plus it keeps dirt & debris out of them too. One of my pouches has the snaps while the other uses Velcro. Both pouches fit all my Beretta, Ruger, SIG, & USP compact magazines perfectly & I don't even have to rig them with cardboard. Even though I prefer flaps I own & have carried with both of these mag pouches & they both work great. (Yeah, I have a lot of mag pouches) They're both completely adjustable to fit 99% of double stack mags with the turn of a screw. http://www.safariland.com/magazine/model-7320-double-magazine-pouch-triple-threat-ii-10731.html#start=1 http://www.safariland.com/magazine/model-75-open-top-double-magazine-pouch-11170.html#start=1

WTF? This has to be a joke.

I wouldn't doubt it. After all, you can go to jail for robbing a place with a toy gun. Using a fake pistol to intimidate people could be asking for trouble. There have been a few rare instances where an open carry has possibly stopped a crime from happening, but IMHO concealed carry is probably the best idea. If a criminal thinks you have a gun there's a good chance that showing off a "fake" pistol may make them more likely to be aggressive & use deadly force. -

My favorite parts... "What PCD's are not for home Protection law enforcement situations self defense" " PCD was founded in 2014 by a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served multiple combat tours to Iraq, and other places throughout the world." ...REALLY?!? Why not just go to Walmart & buy an airsoft? This has to be an early April Fools joke! -
I like it. If you look at the photos in the link you'll see that the slide ridges aren't super aggressive so holster removal shouldn't be a problem. (The ridges are cut into the slide instead of sticking way out) The grip looks like it would be very comfortable. From the side, the APX's shape reminds me of a Ruger SR9 especially in the grip area. I can't wait to see how it actually functions & what the set MSRP will be.

Not a good thing for woman shooters

Those are about as good an idea as the jock strap grenade holder. -
We had breakfast for dinner tonight. A while ago I made some fresh home made buttermilk bread, eggs, apple smoked bacon, & breakfast gravy. I'm off to hibernate now.
-
The news is giving a forecasted actual temp. (not wind chill) of -10 tonight & -15 tomorrow night! I've seen it in the negatives a few time, but never that cold. Brrr.... I just snapped this photo of my street a few minutes ago & the snow's coming down heavily again right now.

I've ordered some camping gear from here. They have a lot of cool items & sell real 550 paracord (a lot of what you find is cheap made & poor quality) & even have videos showing how to make knife grips, etc. from 550 paracord. http://countycomm.com/cord.html You can also order it from Smoky Mountain Knife Works... http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/main_front.jsp When I was a teenager in Boy Scouts I once wrapped a knife blank with paracord & then dipped the whole handle in 2-part epoxy just to try it out. 20 years later the knife is still getting used. Now I'm a volunteer leader with my local Boy Scout Troop & we buy this stuff in bulk & use it for everything.

My wife has worked at Walmart for over 15 years & can tell you that people really act this way when the words "storm" or "snow" are mentioned on the news. The bottled water, milk, bread, & peanut butter isles get emptied every time.

How to mount a handgun under a dash or desk
luvmyberetta replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I went a different route a couple years ago since my other preferred pistol is stainless & won't stick to a magnet. I simply took two screws & two fender washers & bolted one of my pancake holsters to the backside of our bookshelf next to the front door where I can access it instantly. I put the screws through the belt slots. The holster isn't damaged I have the option of using the thumb strap or not & no one can see it. You could do the same thing under a table. -
I collect Star Wars. I have a box of Star Wars comics from the late '70s & early '80s along with figures & read along books with records. The strangest are probably my lightsabers. I have some of the small scale Master Replica lightsabers, but I've also built some full size replicas from scratch using 70 year old camera flashes & parts they used in the original movies. (Yeah, I'm a nerd) I also like to collect metal fighter jet models, my favorite being the F14 Tomcats. Oh, yeah, I also collect guns. That's the one that bugs my wife the most. It would bug her even more if she actually knew how many I really have.
-
Some laser discs are going way up in value as collectables, but those prices are completely ridiculous! I would expect those to be in the $200-$300 range because of the expense of having them framed. The discs are probably worth about half that to a collector.

Handgun Permits - County by County
luvmyberetta replied to waynesan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
My wife & I just mailed in our HCP renewal yesterday. :usa: It's hard to believe it's already been almost four years since we got our permits. -
Long guns (rifles, shotguns, etc...) can be shipped person to person within TN. You may ship a handgun yourself through FedEx or UPS, but handguns must be shipped to an FFL ONLY, not to a residence, whether within the same state or not. They're a lot more strict with handguns than long guns. Also make sure that the shipping company knows it's a firearm & requires the buyer to sign for it. I ordered a handgun from a guy in Colorado a couple years ago & he decided to save a few dollars on shipping & sent it by regular ground FedEx instead of overnight like he should have. The FFL I used works a regular job out of town some days & was gone when the handgun arrived. Since the seller cut corners & sent it by regular ground, FedEx delivered it to the wrong house down the street from my FFL & actually left it leaning against the front door so my handgun sat on someone's front porch facing a busy street for nearly 10 hours before my FFL got back in town. By chance my FFL spotted the FedEx box on the guys front porch on his way home & picked it up. If they had required a signature & ID that wouldn't have happened. I was lucky it wasn't stolen.
