  1. I've seen this for sale before and it looks like good ammo & the velocities are incredible, but the price hurts...$60+ just to fill one mag on my SR9. At shows and where I live it runs $20-$26 for a 6 count pack. I know, in theory, one or two shots should do it, but I'd like to be able to practice without getting a bank loan before hitting the range. Just my
  2. Of course, I wouldn't be pointing the laser or pistol at anyone under normal circumstances. I'm a safe person and take handling and carrying a gun very serious. Guns are fun on the range and we all enjoy collecting them, but the thought of having to use one in defense should never be taken lightly. I would use one to protect myself or my family, but would rather loose my life than accidentally hurt someone else due to carelessness. See what happened here...y'all made me use big words and go into deep thoughts and stuff. My head hurts.
  3. Yeah. It's a Viridian green laser. I've got a Fobus thats great & looks a lot better than the ones offered by Viridian. Might want to check 'em out. Her's a pic of mine.
  4. Forgive me if this topic has been covered. I have a laser for my SR9 and wonder if it's legal for carry. I've had police tell me that it's ok...and I've had police say that they will claim the laser and the pistol and haul you to jail. I've tried to find it in all the small writing, but you have to be a rocket scientist to make sense of some of the laws. Appears, the police don't know either. Anybody know what TN state law says about it?
  5. Thanks, JohnnyFox.
  6. I'll take it if it's still available. I've got a few items to add too. Thanks.
  7. He may refering to an ATI pistol grip for the 500. ATI makes a pistol grip for the 500 with a flashlight mount (part #STM 1200) that pops into the opening in the bottom of the pistol grip and is held in place with a screw. Their website is www.atigunstocks.com I've got a 500AT with some of their products attached & it's quality stuff. Hope this helps.
  8. I am trying to find an original flat style hammer spur for my 336CS (rifle was made in 1988). I believe one from a 39a will work as well. If anyone has or knows where to find this extension, I would be greatful. Picture below. The top one is a Williams, but the bottom is the factory Marlin brand. I would prefer the Marlin, but will buy either one I can get. Thanks all.
  9. Yeah...they all had the same ones from Uncle Mikes or some other generic version. I found one not long ago on gunbroker, but the joker wanted $40 for it & couldn't tell me whether it was pre '83 or after. One will eventually turn up if I'm patient. I just figured someone on TGO might have one to sell. Thanks.
  10. I don't have a large collection...just my Marlins, 336CS & 39A Original Golden Boy. The only other rifle in my collection is a Nylon 66 Apache, my dad gave me 25 years ago. Someday I'd like to add a Marlin 45-70 & maybe a Winchester 94 to round things out.
  11. I'm looking for a factory hammer extension for my 336C, man. date 1988. It's the flat style...I do not want the Uncle Mikes round style. If anybody has one or know where to get one I'd appreciate it much. Thanks all.
  12. Thanks. I just found out it was a custom ordered hammer installed from another manufacturer. I would still like to find a factory (flat style) Marlin hammer extension if anybody has one. Thanks for the info 'whiskey'.
  13. My brother has a Marlin 39A with a factory hammer w/extension machined in one piece & it works & looks great. I've seen some of those bolt on extensions, but have never tried one & always wondered if they stay in place or loosen up easily. Obviously the 39A hammer looks better than one with a bolt on type extension, but I was curious if the 39A hammer would work on a 336 or if it's more trouble than it's worth? Has anyone tried to swap them on theirs before?
  14. Sounds like that is more and more common. My mother-in-laws, ex husband threatened to kill her, then himself right in front of the police one night several years back. The police later told us that her ex could make a vebal threat, but they could not interfear until he actual tried to act on it. All they did was ask him to leave her property. Later that night he came back and smashed all the windows in her car! Then, he was arrested. Gee..wonder if that could have been prevented somehow?
  15. Most privately owned gun shops will haggle...at least if they want to make a sale. Big chain stores like Dick's & Gander Mountain won't budge an inch. Keep looking. You'll eventually find what your looking for at the right price. I've had to walk away from sales before. It sucked at the time, but always paid off in the long run to shop around.
  16. I'll have to check them out. I don't know much about newer CZ's, but my dad has an old CZ-52 in near mint condition. It's a great shooter. Loud as hell and and accurate too.
  17. I have a friend (actually a former friend) that sales a lot of stolen guns, & it pisses me off. He regularly sells locally and sometimes even calls to see if I am interested in a "hot piece". I won't have anything to do with him because of it now & I won't buy one. I can't go to our local police because they are related to him & probably know it's going on. I'm not sure what to do, because I hate to be a snitch (or shot), but someone worked very hard to buy an expensive rifle or pistol that he sells off for next to nothing and then just steals more.

    Pawn shop guns

I've purchased several pistols and rifles from pawn shops, & so far have always had good experiences with them. If it's overpriced, haggle. If you can't get it for a good price keep looking. Eventually you'll find the gun you've always wanted...just be sure you know what you're looking for and what it's worth. You'd be amazed what turns up at pawn shops.
  19. I've never tried the brass. Nobody sells it where I live so I've never compared the price. It does seem odd that the aluminum would be more. Maybe cause not many companies use aluminum? I like it for the range because it shoots clean and consistant. Thanks.
  20. Where did you find Blazer for $8 & $12? Do they ship? I'll buy a case of each at that price.
  21. Has anyone tried Leverevolution for your 30/30? Did you use the FTX or the MonoFlex? What's your impression of it? It's not available in my area, but I'm thinking of buying some on my next trip out of town if they really perform well.
  22. My 12 gauge with 3" Sabot slugs was pretty rough. Bruised the heck out of my shoulder! The most painful, though, was the same 12 gauge with the factory pistol grip installed & shooting magnum loads. Those really hurt! After 6 rounds I couldn't write for 2 days!
  23. I just took your advice and picked one up. Made a world of difference! My shoulder wasn't as colorful after going to the range this weekend. Thanks.
