  1. Sounds good. My wife and I have reserved the April 1-2 class. Then we're going to stay a few extra days for some fun in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg.
  2. Check out Ballistol. It's completely safe on all gun parts. I've used it on knives, leather gun holsters, boots, brass, wood and plastic stocks, & on plastic and rubber parts under my car hood. I've been using it around my house for years and it's really good stuff. It's a cleaner and lube in one, but will not hurt anything on your gun.
  3. Lookee there! You got you a purdy one too. I'm glad you were able to move your LC9 quicky. Not every gun is made for every one. I'm glad you ended up with the gun that suits you better. I've heard great things about Sigs. Let me know how it shoots.
  4. No problem. I didn't mean any offense about your location. I just don't get down that way very often. The last time I was there was to go to a hot rod/trade show at P&E about 10 years ago. That's one thing that suck about living back in the sticks.
  5. We signed up for the Bass Pro class, because no one locally was giving classes until late spring or summer. Bass Pro is a 100 mile drive, but is still one of the closest HCP classes we've located. I know there are other courses, but locating them is another matter. I live way out in nowhere land & it gives my wife and me an excuse to visit the smokies again anyway. We figured the money we saved on the class could go for a fun weekend. (We can go over 350 miles on 10 gallons, so even with the drive it's still way less money.) I see you're in Goodlettsville. That's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way for me, but I appreciate the info. The nearest I've found is Coal Creek Armory, but it's still 75 miles each way, plus $90 per person for the class...do the math. It's actually cheaper for me to drive the extra 30 miles and get both of us our HCP.
  6. Thanks Kieefer. I cant wait to take it out to the range. The trigger feels incredible right now.
  7. OK. Now it's official. I'm a Beretta nut! The first pistol I ever bought was a Cougar, .45. Two weeks ago I purchased a 90-Two, .40 cal. Today my brand new PX4, .40 arrived, along with three 14 round mags and installed Trijicon sights. I hope she shoots as good as she looks!
  8. I've heard great things about the EZ9. There's a local shop that sells a lot of their 9mm and people seem to really like them.
  9. Have any members been to the HCP class held at Bass Pro yet? What did you think of the class & range?
  10. I prefer to buy local, but seem to find a lot better deals online. I purchased two pistols online in the past two weeks and saved over $400 between just those two purchases compared to the price the local shop quoted (on the exact same pistols). I just don't have the money to burn at a local shop when I can get it so much cheaper else where. I got one from Bud's and one from a private online dealer. Bud's has some of the best deals I've ever seen on pistols, new or used. Some people don't like the idea of buying out of town, but I saved enough money on those two purchases, to buy a good supply of ammo or even a third pistol. That's a huge deal!
  11. A local gunshop just got a lot of Speer Lawman 230gr and has marked them for $18.99/per 50. Is this a quality ammo for range practice? I've never shot it before & am not familiar with it, but the price seems good. How does it compare with Remington and Winchester for about the same price?
  12. I mostly shoot handguns. I own a couple rifles and a shotgun, but enjoy shooting my pistols more. I've got a Nylon 66 I haven't shot in about 20 years. I just keep 'em clean. Guess I need to go out and shoot more.
  13. Had to edit. For some reason my computer posted the same message twice. Technology...
  14. I checked and it's about as cheap to buy a whole new magazine. I may just sell these and put the money into more factory high cap. mags. I just bought some high capacity .40 mags direct from Beretta for $22.95 each. Beretta's having a big sale on magazines right now. Thanks.
  15. I bought a couple of 12 round mags too, and they look exactly the same, but without the extended follower. I guess the only concern would be spring tension. Thanks.
  16. Forgive me if this topic has already been discused. I was wondering about trying to make a low capacity mag hold more rounds. I've got a Beretta .40 pistol that came with two police mags that restricts them to 10 rounds. Most of the normal mags in this caliber hold 11 or 12 rounds. As far as I can tell the only difference in the magazines is, the police mags have a longer follower. It sticks about an extra inch down inside the spring. If I simply trim the follower, will I run into major feed problems. I'm just talking about enough to get one or two more rounds into it. I don't know if they use different springs or not.
  17. Has anyone already been through the HCP class at Bass Pro yet? Does the class and range time seem up to par?
  18. Have you looked at solid rubber training pistols. You can buy one in the same model as the pistol you will be using so you can practice with an identical gun, but not worry about damage in a drop.
  19. I've seen them and held a couple (while drooling), but haven't had the chance to shoot one yet. They feel great in the hand. I bet they are fine shooters too.
  20. Cougars are SWEEEEEET!! Great shooters.
  21. 8045 Cougar
  22. I love looking at everyones guns. The selection of firearms you can find on here is unreal. Here are my four pistols I'll add to the pile. The Cougar was my first pistol and I aquired the others when I found a deal. So far I think it's a pretty decent collection. If only I could find a Beretta rail cover for the 90 two. I've got one more coming in the mail to complete the set, but that'll be for a later picture. Thanks for looking. 1) Beretta 90 two .40 2) Beretta Cougar .45 3) Ruger SR9 OD 9mm 4) Ruger P95DC 9mm
  23. I'm lovin' that Sig!
  24. The ergonomics are great and you can swap out thicker and thinner grips for custom a feel. That why I chose this over the 92 & 96. It's basically the same pistol with smoother lines, a rail, and a more comfortable grip. (At least in my hands)
