  1. That's ok. If the bayonet can't do the job, I know the 3" magnums will!
  2. +1. Went to Gunblast and checked out the video link they have of the SR1911. They claim it has a 4 1/2 Lb trigger pull. Nice! I may have to sell something to fund a 1911 purchase.
  3. Got this one on my last raid on the evil Umbrella Corp.
  4. My evil black shotgun got a few mods from the Umbrella Corp. (Resident Evil fans will get it) It's all in good fun.
  5. My wife and I went to a range in Pine Knot, KY last summer. When we walked down to the range, there were a bunch of drunk teenagers shooting a rifle and showing off for their girlfriends. As soon as we walked to our table I heard one of them say he had never shot a high power rifle and wanted to try. His buddy handed it to him and he sat down, but held the rifle about 4 inches in front of his shoulder instead of supporting it. As soon as he pulled the trigger the rifle flew back and the scope cut him, deep, from the top of his nose to the middle of his forehead. Half of them freaked out & the other half were laughing their asses off because this idiot now had blood pouring down his face & one of them asked us if we had any paper towels. My wife ran back to our car and got some blue shop towels (it's all we had) and brought back for him. Instead of cleaning him up & taking him to the hospital, his buddy took one of the shop towels and a piece of duct tape and taped it to his forehead so they could finish shooting. My wife and I picked up our stuff and left. This all happened within about 5 minutes of us arriving and we weren't about to hang out with a bunch of drunk teens with guns.

  7. Ugly...yes, but it grows on you. I had to have it when I saw it. I took it to the range as soon as I bought it and nobody had a clue as to what it was when I got there. I guess you could say it's a good conversation piece. Yes. Mossberg authenticated the serial# for me as an original 500BP, factory built, not from a kit. Glad you noticed.
  8. I know it's an evil black shotgun & not a rifle, but can I still post it if I add my rifled sabot barrel? I love everyones EBR pics and felt left out.
  9. It's an original Mossberg 500 Bullpup in very nice condition. I contacted Mossberg with the serial number. They returned my email & said it's authentic & was manufactured on 3-26-1987. I took it straight to the range to try it out as soon as I left the store. It's accurate & has combat style sights. Lined up targets and took 'em out as quick as I could point. I haven't decided whether I'm gonna keep it or not, but it's a heck of a lot of fun to shoot. I pulled the shotgun apart, including the polymer panels and trigger system this evening for a good cleaning. It doesn't appear to have been shot much at all. The grip safety and trigger system on the bullpups is one of those types, you either love or hate. I oiled up all the springs, trigger, and contact points and now the grip safety & trigger is smooth as silk. I can't wait to take it back to the range for more fun.
  10. Finally got out to the range to try out the 90-Two and PX4. I know I'm not an expert or a marksman. I just love to shoot pistols so take everything with a grain of salt. It's for fun after all. The .40 caliber 90-Two is an incredible shooter. This was a gently used pistol that included two 11 round mags & Trijicon night sights & I just bought two 12 round special duty mags from Beretta. I used Remington 180 grain FMJ. My first shot at 20 feet was dead center of the bullseye. I went through a box of 50 and every shot landed within 2" of center thanks to that 4.9" barrel & low recoil. The pistol had a good balance and sight picture was easy to aquire after each shot. Recoil was low and easy to control. I find the grip comfortable and it fits my hands well. After shooting through my first box of ammo, I loaded four mags and ran through them as quickly as I could (controllably/about 2 rounds per second). I know it's not very scientific, but it's a heck of a lot of fun. All 46 shots landed within a 6" circle on a paper plate. This ones a keeper and may be my new favorite, but I'll have to discuss that with my Cougar! I also have nothing negative to say about the .40 PX4. I tested it with the same ammo, Remington 180 grain FMJ. The PX4 was new, right out of the box and came with three 14 round mags and Trijicon night sights. I field stripped it, gave it a good inspection, & a little oil. It was super clean right out of the box and very comfortable in my hands. With a fully loaded 14 round mag, it has perfect balance. My first shot at 20 feet was about 1 1/2" low and to the right. Second shot was dead center. I shot up the rest of the box with all shots hitting within 3"-4" of center. I tended to shoot a little lower on the target with the PX4. This was not the pistols fault, though. I may need to experiment with the backstrap a bit, or I may have just been a little too excited to be at the range with my new pistols and choked. The PX4 is a very nice pistol, but may have a slightly snappier recoil than the 90-Two, probably due to it being a little lighter or the shorter barrel. I did the same with the PX4. Loaded three mags and emptied them quickly. Same results as with the 90-Two. All 42 rounds landed within a 6" group. All in all, it's one of the best pistols I've had the pleasure to shoot. Both are very accurate and have good ergonomics, but are a little on the large side, as far as concealment goes. Either will do fine on a hip or paddle holster, but for concealment I would suggest maybe a shoulder rig. If you find a deal on either or both of these pistols BUY THEM!!
  11. My wife and I applied for our permits & got finger printed today. Now the hard part. Waiting...waiting...
  12. My wife and I just completed the Bass Pro HCP class and it was great. It was conducted by a professional instructor, not by Bass Pro. Bass Pro just supplied the conference room for SFWA to use.
  13. My wife and I took the HCP class this past weekend at Bass Pro and it was great. I wouldn't hesitate a bit to recommend it. A lot of people were putting the class down because it was being held at Bass Pro (even though NONE of them had taken the class). Be assured, Bass Pro had nothing to do with the course except allowing SFWA to use their conference room. It was very professional and the instructors had a great sense of humor & kept the class interesting. By the way...my wife and I both scored 100% on the written test and we both shot perfect scores at the range. I qualified using my Beretta Cougar .45 and she borrowed a Walther P22 from the range. I'm very proud of her, especially considering she had never shot that particular pistol before & had never even touched a gun until a year ago!
  14. Great shooters. You can usually find them for around $100, give or take. M39 Finnish models are even more accurate, but usually run about $200 and up depending on condition. I just sold my Finnish model in excellent condition at a show for $350. It was an extremely accurate rifle, but I wanted something lighter to carry in the woods.
  15. It's not all about legality. It's about respect for where you are and the fact that the organizers asked you not too carry with loaded mags. Guess you had to chime in with your bullshlt too. Blah, blah, blah....
  16. Dang, dude! You're kinda touchy for a guy that wasn't even mentioned. If you actually read my post, I said it was concerning posts about a past Expo show from last year. It only applies to you if you're one of those guys sneaking in loose ammo and...oh, yeah...you said you did!
  17. +1. It seems a lot of people are just looking for a loop hole & a reason to break the rules & shout to the sky, "I won't be told what to do!" If you've got to ask a question about a posted 'no loaded guns' sign, then you know they don't want loaded guns on the property. Like it or not, we need to abide by the rules. If people keep bragging about sneaking loaded guns into shows, next thing you know...no more gun shows. You own a gun...you should be intelligent enough to act grown up for a few hours and follow their rules, whether you agree or not. I remember posts after one of the Expo shows last year. Most of the posts were guys whining about getting their bullets taken away at the door, when there were about a hundred bright neon signs outside the building & on the entrance doors stating "No Loaded Guns or Ammunition". Remember...at gun shows, you're a guest! If you want to be an idiot, then stay home. Don't ruin it for the rest of us!
  18. If you really want to screw with them, go into a gun shop and ask for sabot slugs. (Correctly pronounced sah-bow...the 'T' is silent) This is a commonly mispronounced word. I've never been in a gun store that knew what I was asking for, so like an idiot I have to ask for "sa-bot" slugs or even worse "those slugs with plastic around them". Then they usually know what I mean.
  19. OMG!! LMAO!!
  20. I love going to shows, but skipped about 8 gun shows over the past year, mainly because the nearest show (Expo) is over 70 miles from my house. I went to the latest Expo show and sold a rifle, a pistol, and made a trade, but I rarely sell or trade guns. It was worth going that day because I had already set up a trade with another member from TGO, but it's hard to say it's worth 3 hour round trip, gas money, $10 at the door, + food, just to browse & hope to find a deal on a normal day. I'll still go to shows, but not as frequently as I want. There are some shows closer to me in KY, but you can't legally buy a pistol across state lines.
  21. Thank you. I have medallions & was going to let her pick one to add on, but this is the way she wanted to keep it. Kinda outlaw style. I just finished a matching belt tonight to go with it. Maybe I'll make another one with Ruger or star medallions.
  22. I checked ebay, but there were a lot of 'copy cat' brands floating around at the time so I ordered direct. (That was several months ago) I went with the 1/2 oz size, which is enough paint for at least 20-30 guns. It came with a fine applicator brush, in a nail polish style bottle. They have other colors available too. Good stuff!
  23. Thanks. Most western holsters (especially quick draw style) don't hide the trigger + it's single action so no accidental misfires upon drawing or holstering. I may experiment and make her a couple different styles to see how they turn out. You can never have too many holsters.
  24. Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
  25. My wife loves range shooting with me and finally made her first gun purchase last week so I decided to make her a western style holster for her new Ruger Single Six. I used 6 oz leather and lined the inside with black suede to protect the finish, then dyed it to match her gun. It was a nice surprise for her.
