What's the price range on the SR1911 & are any available in the Knoxville area? I keep hearing $600-650 range, give or take a little, but haven't found anyone taking orders or stocking yet. My local gun shop wants $884 out the door + up to a six month wait with payment up front!!!!!

www.ghostinc.com They make trigger bars for Glocks and SR9's. For your other inquiry. SR9's have become very popular and can be found at most gun shops. You can also find them at guns show selling for about $375-$400 new. They tend to cost a little more at big chain stores, but you might catch Ruger running a rebate or sale. Good luck.

UPDATE>> Ghost Trigger Bar...WOW!! I ordered the 3.5lb Ghost Rocket trigger bar with the TCT (Tigger Control Tab) & went to work on it as soon as it arrived today. The video links on Ghost's website made it simple. Trust me, the trigger bar install is much easier than it looks at first glance. Now, keep in mind that, while the 5 lb tactical and 3.5 lb rocket trigger do reduce trigger weight; they won't actually get you down to the true advertised weight without changing springs too. What you will get is a lighter, shorter, & MUCH smoother trigger. The Rocket has a TCT & trust me...it makes a difference. Like most owners I thought my SR9 had no over travel to begin with, but was proven wrong after installing the Rocket. I pulled it apart, grinded some material and reinstalled it 6 or 7 times until it was just right. It looks like it's going to be well worth the effort. The trigger now breaks at around 5lbs. I had it checked on someone elses gauge, but just ordered a new digital gauge to check the results myself. Now the trigger pull is very short and smooth with a very positive feel. No more gritty trigger! Many SR9 owners complain about the sudden stacking weight at the end of the trigger pull & then a sudden SNAP! That horrible snap! Well, that's completely gone now. My SR9 has a smooth steady pull & a light clean break. Please excuse my rambling, but I wanted to give as much info about this trigger mod as I could. I can't wait to take it to the range to run a live fire test. I'll give another update when I get my trigger gauge and range test. Thanks guys.

Just my opinion, but I own two SR9's and they are great shooters. (Please don't judge them by dry firing alone...they feel totally different with live ammo) They're easy to maintain and only get better as you shoot them. The first one I bought has well over 2,000 rounds without a single malfunction. Both of mine have the second gen. trigger made after the recall. I just installed a Ghost Rocket trigger bar in one of my SR9's and...HOLY CRAP it's awesome!! Trigger breaks consistently at 5 lbs or less now and zero over travel. Results will be even better on the new models. I have nothing against XD's. They're great pistols & I would like to have one myself, but be sure to try out an SR9 before you decide.

23 days for mine to arrive.

The pricks at our Walmart won't allow ammo to be sold after 8:00pm most days of the week! 10:00pm on weekends! :doh:My town sucks!

You have to pay an oil tax everywhere. I used to be a manager at an AutoZone & they already have the oil tax included in their price on the shelf. Walmart charges it seperately at the register. That's one way to make you think you're getting it for less. Tricky people.

I haven't been able to shoot one yet, but a local pawn shop has one for sale & I got to check it out. It feels solid and comfortable in my hands. I may just have to go back & get it after seeing your review.

The reason Walmart aks is because you're suppost to be 21 to purchase handgun ammo and 18 to buy rifle ammo. Silly...I know.

NEWS FLASH about Gun Belts. Prepare to be stunned.
luvmyberetta replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Agreed. I made my own belt using stiff 1 3/4" wide 12 oz leather. I'm a big guy & it's actually more comfortable than my regular belt and keeps my pants up better. -
Hitler? Oh, he's the guy humping OBL in the ass right now!

I hope they give the guy that pushed the button that sent OBL to hell a medal & a million dollars!! God Bless America!

Thanks, guys. Much appreciate the congrats.

Our Walmart just started selling guns again and are putting the pinch on the local gun store, which is the only gun store in the county. When Walmart quit selling guns several years back, prices shot up at the local gun store, but now Walmart has them beat by nearly $150 on Mossberg shotguns. 12 gauge Mossy 500's are $227 right now at Wally World. I still support the local gun shop for HP ammo and pistols, but it's hard to overlook that kind of price difference on long guns.

Thanks. Funny you ask, because mine arrived at our home address and my wife's was shipped to our P.O. Box...wierd. Guess they wanted to throw the post office some extra business.

Both of our HCP's arrived in the mail today. 23 days...not too bad.

The Walmart in Oneida just started selling rifles and shotguns again, too.

A possible tornado touchdown was reported in Huntsville area in Scott County earlier this evening and my next door neighbors house was just hit by lightening around 7:00 tonight. Scared the blazes out of everyone, but the fire dept. responded quick & only minor damage was done.

Probaby. It's an awesome shotgun, but I only put the tactical stuff on there for the picture. I think some guys might take it a little too seriously, but you gotta have a little fun. It gets a lot of attention at the range. Everyone wants to shoot it when they see it.

Did you take the Bass Pro class? What did you think of it?

Rumor mill confirmed Ruger SR1911 released today!
luvmyberetta replied to Mad_Squirrell's topic in Handguns
Nice pistol. I can't wait to see the price when they hit the street locally. I got rid of my 1911 last year and think I might want one again. -
Are the boxes still out there or have they seen their last sunset?
-
Thanks. Since these are very collectable I made sure everything will come off without doing damage to the gun. I'll probably put it up for sale next month to fund another purchase. A lot of guys have asked me if I would be willing to sell it.
