  1. Here are a couple beauties & my main carry pistols. The SIG P229 was a .40 when I bought it, but I recently added a .357 barrel & have started carrying it in that caliber. The other one is my Beretta Cougar in .45 acp & my preferred carry choice. I should add that the Cougar has had a "G" conversion since I took this photo which means the safety is now a decocker only. As you can see they're nearly identical in size & both are DA/SA & have a decoker only & no safety. They feel very similar when shooting, though the .45 Cougar is a little smoother & has a nicer trigger than the SIG, but both are a heck of a lot of fun at the range.
  2. I haven't tried it, but will have to add it to my list. A couple nights ago I picked up a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel & can't wait to pop the cork on that one. I've never tried it either, but have heard lots of positive reviews about it.
  3.   The whole point is if the dumbass had obeyed the signs & if the staff properly checked the firearms coming in there would have been no ND, plain & simple! Crap like this is what's giving the antis exactly what they want.
  4.   You figure breaking the law & ignoring legal signage is OK? That was my point! There have been two ND at two Knoxville gun shows in the past two years. Jan. of 2012 an idiot shot a hole through his hand with a Kimber & now this.
  5.   We even had a thread on here about this a couple years ago & several TGO members bragged that they still concealed a loaded pistol or carried ammo in the show anyway because they didn't feel that the signs applied to them. There will always be a few that ruin it for the rest of us.
  6.   I've seen lots of guys & even venders cut them after they go in the door.
  7.   +1,000...sounds like a lot of dumbassery going around!
  8.   I made another visit to Bud's Gun Shop on my way through Lexington last week & picked up some Geco 9mm match ammo for $14/ per 50. The cheapest I've seen around here is over $20 per/50. I also picked up some Sellier & Bellot .357sig cheap. Why can't (or won't) local shops come close to these prices?
  9.   I think we get the point you're making, but in order to change things we need to move up the chain. I think people underestimate the importance of what the TNHP are doing, even if it's stopping drivers texting. That will save lives! I also agree that people endangering the lives of others should be knocked in the head with the book, not just slapped on the wrist. Start with with your local law makers like your sheriff, mayor, & go from there. The law makers need to be made aware that changes are needed. The highway patrol officers spend most of their time traveling the interstate & not within your community. The law makers should be reminded that they work for us & voters remember. The TNHP's job is primarily traffic violations, working accidents, & upholding the rules of the road. Of course they'll help anywhere they're needed, but the sheriff dept. & city police are the eyes & ears of the community. My cousin's a trooper & says he often patrols several hundred miles a day, sometimes 12-16 hours a day or more, covering anywhere from 1 to 3 counties. You would do better to contact your lawmakers (as should we all) & hope change happens.
  10.   I've wondered the same thing. I haven't bought any .22 in almost three years & I still have 99% of what I bought. The shortage on .22 never hit hard here. You can still walk into a GS & buy CCI Stingers for around $6.99 per /100. Bricks are about $30 last time I checked. 9mm, .40, & .45 are the ones we couldn't get for months. I don't know many guys that shoot .22, but my shop rarely runs short on it. I don't understand the obsessive behavior of a lot of shooters.
  11.   That's part of the reason I installed a set of the big 18 wheeler air horns on the inner fenders of my pickup along with an air tank & compressor mounted in the bed. Just a few days ago a lady messing with her phone darted between a bunch of parked cars & cut across about four lanes in our Walmart parking lot & nearly took my front bumper off. She never even looked up until I blew my air horns from about 3 feet from her window (which was down by the way). I hope she was wearing some "depends" because I'm sure I scared the whizz out of her.
  12.   I wouldn't call it stalking. If you're breaking the law & endagering others, you should be caught. I think a lot of people forget that the police aren't just out to get you. They're trying to keep the roads safe for us all. I have a cousin that's a TN Trooper & he says the amount of dangers & stress they'r put under everyday is unbelievable at times. You can trust me when I tell you they don't enjoy traffic stops. It puts both the LEO & the citizen in danger.
  13.   You may enjoy your sarcasm, but a lot of accidents & deaths are caused by people texting & driving. My BIL was hospitalized back in August with a broken arm & compound fracture to his leg because an assbag texting driver ran him off the road.
  14.   You gotta have something taller than an SUV to see into an SUV. Makes sense. I'm all for it if it actually makes the roads safer & stops some of these jackasses from endangering the rest of us.
  15. Yeah....I'm pretty sure she's getting a bag full of sh*t lit on her front porch. :poop:
  16.   I didnt want to be the one, but since you brought it up...   Yep, it's fake. >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc5HUS8dLN0
  17.   The worst part might be having to sit through an hour of Disney previews just to watch it. I swear if I have to see another "Lady & the Tamp" preview, I'm gonna snap!
  18. I don't know what stores are in your area, but my local Fastenal & NAPA stores order single bits, & parts for me all the time. They only charge shipping for rush delivery, but if I'm willing to wait for it to arrive in their regular weekly delivery they don't charge any shipping. If you're lucky enough to have a NAPA or other auto store with a warehouse (hub) store nearby, you can usually have the item in a day or less & most don't charge shipping. Good luck.
  19. Didn't Disney buy the rights to Star Wars? If so, I can promise you it will be ruined in one way or another.
  20. Maybe Obama finally realized what a tool he was for blaming Bush for all our problems for the past several years & nows he's looking for someone else to whine about. "Wah...Fox picked on me...wahhhh!"
  21. Most fences like the ones you describe use a solid color stain. They're usually water based & can be mixed just like paint in just about any color including black & give a really flat/matte finish.
  22.   That's is good advice IMO & sometimes used can be as good as new. My first SIG was P229. I got it on a trade & it's never malfunctioned. Nearly every gun I've owned has been used when I got it & I've never had an issue with any of them.
  23. Here are the two SIGs in my collection. The P229 .40s&w (I also have a .357sig barrel) has a set of Hogue rubber grips & the P220 compact Elite .45 acp came with special edition aluminum grips, a checkered front strap, & extended beavertail frame. Both pistols came with SIGLITE night sights installed from the factory. It took about five minutes on the SIG forum for me to get some gun snobbery about these two unworthy pistols, but I really hope you guys like them. :hat:
  24. Do you store it in a pistol rug or just wrap it in a condom? Imagine if this gun was ever to be used in self defense...and you thought Zimmerman's pistol got some media attention.
