  You can pick up a spring here to lighten the DA pull by a few lbs or a spring kit to tune it to your liking & still keep it 100% reliable. If it's going to be a range toy go as light as you want on the hammer spring. I'm not sure about how rare they are, but most owners either love or hate them, but it's mostly love. Most of the complaints you hear are about the single stack mags & the old style heel release. They're excellent quality pistols & are extremely reliable. Some owners claim they have the most balanced feel of any SIG they've shot. I find it ironic that "Montage Suisse" is French for "Swiss Built" (with German parts of course). They usually sell in the $350-$450 range in good to very good used condition & the mags tend to sell for around $35-$40 each when I've seen them. We went to Mammoth cave & also took a tour of the Corvette factory a few years ago & they said that area has hundreds of sinkholes. Mammoth cave is estimated to have about 600+ miles of tunnels under KY & sinkholes are everywhere.

I agree that the mark ups suck, but anything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Remember a year ago when people were bidding $1,000 for a box of Twinkies on ebay? Who knows...in 10 years $80 may be considered a bargain for a brick of .22lr. That's just how it goes I guess.

Very nice set of pistols. The frames, slide, & barrels on the "U.S.A." models are machined here in America. Italian made frames, slides, & barrels have different proof marks on them. You also date U.S. & Italian models differently. You go by the serial # on U.S. models, but Italian models have a two digit date stamp on the right side of the frame next to the trigger guard. There's a good chance the internals are made in Italy. Brownell's is Beretta's official parts distributor & had to special order a spring from Italy for me when I owned a PX4. Most of my Berettas were made in Italy, but I also have a few U.S. models. I hope a TN built model will be in my future if Beretta starts making their pistols here too.

  I'm not sure I understand. Beretta has been manufacturing pistols here in the U.S. for 30 years when the M9 replaced the 1911A1.

Here's another question. I live here in TN a few miles from the KY state line. Now there's a gun shop about 15 minutes away in KY that I visit sometimes. I was in there the other day & asked about transfer & shipping cost to my FFL where I live. They told me that there's no shipping fee. He said that after I buy the pistol my local FFL drives & picks up the pistols & brings it back to TN to complete the transfer. Sometimes they deliver it by hand to my LGS. They do this a lot, but is it legal?

Here's a product you might want to look at. My dad picked up a set of Jakks "Eyeclops" goggles last year & I was shocked at how clear the picture was. Also, they don't really glow red like in the photo. They don't put out any visible light except an extremely faint orange glow on the high setting. You can also change from green to black/white (natural) vision. The set he has allows you to open a cover over one eye if you want to look around without using the IR. Not professinal, but not bad for $30.  http://eyeclopsnightvision.com/

  I already have several Berettas that say, "Made in Italy" & "Made in Accokeek, MD" on the slides. One that says "Made in TN" would be a nice addition to the collection. :rock:

  I think you forget all the other models Beretta makes. They also produce full size & compact pistols in .40 s&w, .357 sig, & .45 acp. Beretta also shortly produced one of the best quality 1911 style pistols money can buy called the "Steel 1". It's not a true 1911 clone, as it has Beretta's open slide design. Beretta has already stated that they will never produce a 1911 clone. I'd call it an improved 1911. It's all steel construction instead of Beretta's usual alloy frame, SAO trigger w/frame mounted safety, were hand fitted, & available in 9mm & .40 s&w. There was talk recently about Beretta bringing back some discontinued designs. Hopefully this will be the chance. Most people are only familiar with the 92/M9, but Beretta has produced some other really great pistols over the years. I think that the military contract along with the millions of 92 model pistols that have been produced over the years has taken up most of the slack & Beretta has slowed production of newer inovative designs. I would love to see Beretta bring back the Brigadier Elite, Elite II, Steel 1, & the Combat.

I don't know if you heard, but there have been talks about Beretta considering bringing back the Elite line & really I hope they do. I need an Elite II to go with my twins. :up:

Have you seen my member name? I can't be sure, but I think I might have a bit of a Beretta addiction. Last year I traded one of them for a SIG P220 with another TGO member so I'm down to seven right now. The Cougars are my favorite models to shoot & IMO have the best ergonomics, but I can't pass up a sexy 92/96 model. What do you guys use for seasoning? I've used Crisco, plain non-stick cooking spray (which actually seems to work best), & meat fat/oil, but I find myself having to reseason a couple of my pans every few uses. It's the same pans each time too. Any suggestions of what I can use or do to get that beautiful black finish to stay put better? Thanks & really enjoying the thread.

  Same here. I see both sides, but I'm more nervous about some of the bad drivers on the road than I am about people carrying. I'm more likely to get run over by a douche bag texting or drinking & driving than getting shot.

  As stated above, TN has no gun registry. Whe I took my HCP course we were never asked what type of pistol we were using or the serial number so there's no record of what pistol I used to qualify with. If a carry course were to ask me to list my handgun & serial number I think I would find a different class. In TN your handgun is considered private property & you're not required to give out that information.
