  1. The reviews crack me up. I like that one guy said they were affordable, but turned around & complained about not getting a delivery/set up discount for buying two of them.
  2.   While it's not a "brick", I just picked up a 550 count box of Federal .22lr at my local Walmart for $23.
  3. Here's the easy method I like to use. I usually boil my ribs on the stove for about 45 minutes. By then they're fully cooked & tender. Then I put them on a baking sheet, smother on my favorite BBQ sauce, & bake them in the oven 10-15 minutes at 450 degrees or until the sauce thickens to my liking. You can also broil them a couple minutes to cook the sauce onto the ribs. They come out tender & almost fall apart.
  4. I usually have more than three, but if I had to narrow it down I'd use plenty of sliced tomatoes, onions, & hamburger meat.   Usually I make home made pizzas with fresh garden tomatoes (whenever available), onions, mushrooms, red & orange bell peppers, hamburger meat, & parm. cheese sprinkled on top. You'll never, EVER, find an olive of any kind in my home. My wife & I never could acquire a taste for them. Ironically I cook & sauté with olive oil...go figure.
  5.   That's a pretty ignorant response unless you actually took the class yourself & have a complaint about it! Let me guess...you're a tactical expert & know 15 ways to kill a guy with just your thumb. :screwy:
  6. My wife & I took our HCP class here. http://shootingforwomenalliance.com/ The two day class is only $28 per person. It's free if the class has empty seats or you can pay the $28 to be guaranteed a seat, but I've never heard of a class not filling The class we took was at Bass Pro Shop in Kodak, TN. Bass Pro wasn't the one giving the class. It's by certified instructors & a member of the TN Highway Patrol usually monitors the classes.
  7.   My wife & I got lucky & have two young boys (4 & 8 yrs old). My older brother & his wife on the other hand, have two young girls (2 & 4 yrs old). I told him that was payback for all the mean stuff he did to me growing up.
  8. Today I was browsing in a local pawn shop owned by a friend & happen to notice he had a German Luger in the case. This was a real beauty & has been very well taken care of by somebody. I'd call the finish at least 90% & it even had the original leather flap holster & two magazines. It was priced $1,250 so I told him it was very nice, but out of my range, but he winked & told me I could shoot it for free. I thought he was making a joke until he pulled out a box of Speer 9mm & told me to follow him outside. It didn't shoot like most old military pistols I've tried. I was amazed at how smooth the action was & how little recoil it had. We had a good time tearing a two liter bottle to shreds behind his shop. When all was said & done I was really impressed at how well it performed & it made my day to have the opportunity to try out a pistol that I've mostly only read about.
  9. I have to wonder if the owner of this car also manages a restaurant called "The Pit"?
  10. Finally..my Marto Claymore will see the light of day.
  11. I haven't heard much about the new knife laws. Does anyone have the link on the new laws & what will be legal to carry in TN? Thanks in advance.
  12.   Same here. My local WM doesn't have it either. There are only two places in my county that have free wifi (McDonald's & the library) & both have blockers on all forums. When I moved into the house I'm in now we had to wait a couple weeks to get our internet hooked up so I used local wifi & the pubic library to get online. Both blocked any & all forum style sites so I couldn't get on any of my favorite gun forums for a couple weeks. Talk about having withdrawl. :ugh:
  13. I've got a couple boxes. After I bought them I started wondering about the posibility of squibs so I never shot them. The ones I have are the 20 gr. Aguila Super Colibri. I doubt I'll ever use them in my rifle.   Added...The 20gr. is rated at 590fps. http://www.aguilaammo.com/rimfire.html
  14. Good for the family. I hope charges aren't pressed against them for the neighbors window. (You know how it works out sometimes) As for the suspect that's in critical condition...I have no sympathy for this type of scum.  If this piece of trash survives I hope that he learned a very painful lesson that won't be repeated.
  15.   Forget the chain saw. Got any det. cord?
  16.   That's what I've been thinking for a while. Any fool knows this wouldn't help with 2nd amendment rights. Scare tactics never do any good.
  17. Tax? What tax? :shhh:
  18. This may sound odd, but are there any Amish communities near you? If so, I would highly suggest paying them a visit. I picked up a pair of 2" & 1.5" wide handmade belts made from 11 oz. bullhide for only $22 each & they're just as nice as any $80-$100 belts I've looked at in outdoor shops or online. The 1.5" is plain & the 2" has a nice basket weave pattern & both came with heavy duty buckles. I've been wearing the 2" belt for a year now & it's still stiff as the day I bought it. I bought mine at "Muddy Pond" near Crossville. You can't beat the quality.
  19. I remember them. That's the same place that posted really insulting signs trash talking gun owners?
  20. It all depends on where you live. I'm from a smaller town & we haven't had much of a .22 shortage where I live, but it's impossible to find elsewhere. My local WM had a stack of 550 round Federal value boxes sitting at the counter this morning priced for $23 a box & I was a little surprised there wasn't a single person waiting to buy it, but of course, I didn't buy any either because I mainly shoot 9mm & .45. It's clear that the panic buying has pretty much stopped where I live. Hopefully that's a sign that things will be getting back to normal everywhere soon.
  21. I just got back from a day of searching & found a good candidate. Here it is..... http://www.libertysafe.com/buy-a-safe-explorer-20-color-pg-76.html My local gun shop just got this one, used from a customer. I looked it over & it's in 100% mint condition, inside & out. Not a scratch anywhere on it. They want $550 + tax & said they could deliver for an extra $50, so that would come out to around $650 (I think I could get it for a bit less though). It has the heavy dial/lock instead of an electronic keypad & hidden hinges.   Here's my other option I found for. It's brand new for $650 delivered. http://www.fortresssafe.com/shop/gun-security/fs24e-24-gun-safe/   Because of the hidden hinges & steel dial & I'm leaning toward the Liberty. Any opinions on these two?
  22. Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping to make a trip to Knoxville so I can stop by some dealers. The two main problems I've run into are dealers don't list any prices online & my own isolated location. I live over 50 miles from any large town & 75 miles from Knoxville so I can't just head out & shop for a gun safe any time I want. So far Walmart probably has the best deal I've found on a name brand safe, but even though I only live a 1/2 mile from the store, since they don't deliver they might as well be a hundred miles away. Needless to say shopping for a safe is becoming a hell of a frustration.
  23. Any chance it's a French MAB D? Here's a link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAB_Model_D_pistol   If so, they usually run in the $150-$200 range. My dad has one in .32. It's a decent shooter for the range (when it's not jamming), but not what I would call a highly reliable pistol for SD.
  24. I've sold & traded many times here on the forum & have met some great people in the process, but have also had good luck privately selling mine at shows. Vendors usually won't give you anything for your guns, since they can get them wholesale, but lots of private individuals are always looking for a deal. People usually stop me before I get inside to see what I have. Once before a show, my dad & I were getting a few guns out of my car & some guys on their way in stopped & asked about them. Between the two of us we sold two & made a trade right there in the parking lot before we even made it to the front door.
