    Air Rifles

Those Hatsan air rifles have some nice Turkish walnut stocks. Have some pesky squirrels that have tried to eat their way into my 8'x 12' shooting shack, thinking about getting an air rifle to use on them. Would bait them and then eliminate as needed. There are a boat load of brands and models to choose from. Still researching them. Some of the larger calibers are pretty awesome with the ft lbs of energy from the big pellets. Would prefer one with a magazine with several shots instead of a single shot, maybe an underleaver model. Can even buy moulds to cast your own pellets now.

    Air Rifles

Any one into air rifles on TGO? Been watching youtube and a lot of videos of shooting vermin and pest control with air rifles.
  3. The bottom edge of left pants leg look like they were trimmed with pinking shears.
  4. Thought collecting and storing gun ownership information was illegal under the GCA of 68, do you really think the gov. would disobey a federal law?
  5. Carbide or ceramic were the nozzles of choice in my machine shop, carbide media would etch aluminum shoe sole molds as that was the look they wanted, probably too aggressive for gun parts.
  6. Setting in front of my computer looking out the window at my drive way saw a pair of doves, which means spring is getting close. One dove was chasing the other dove looking for romance. Yoo hoo am tired of cold rainy weather. Sunshine today with temps in the 60's.
  7. About 15 or 16 yesterday morning and we had about a half inch of snow during the night, put my coveralls on and down to the barn to feed the cows a few square bales because didn't want to crank the tractor. The wind chill was about six, makes it hard for an old guy to breathe.
  8. Glad to hear not too many stings. If those black cats go off too close they leave powder burns, and those sparklers leave burns scars if you touch them to your leg, my brother wanted to know if they would burn flesh. Thanks for the story, and yes Mama made things out of the flour sacks. Never thought of making mud gernades. Kids being kids, great life experiences.
  9. Hobo's did the same thing back in the day, hitching rides on freight trains, camping by the tracks. Homeless people are nothing new, just gets more attention than in the past. During the meltdown at the end of Bush and beginning of Obama there were a lot of small tent camps everywhere. I remember seeing tents under interstate bridges.
  10. My bad, old memory.
  11. All the pictures on Gun Brokers only show made in USA, was hoping for a Made in Franklin, Tn stamp on them, or is the pistol so small hard to put that many letters on it?
  12. ShaggyRS6 when a teenager we hogged for carp in the Middle Fork of the Obion river. Reaching under the hollow banks, stumps and logs feeling for them and moving you hands close but not touching them one hand to the head and one to the tail and then bringing them together to bend the fish in an arc. Was illegal to use a seine but on one occasion we did around some tree tops where they had fallen into the river from logging. Set the seine around the tree top and chase them into it was like a bunch of hogs hitting an American wire fence. My mother canned them after pressure cooking them if you put an egg white in the top of the jar they looked like pink salmon, and were delicious fried into patties. Many fond memories of fishing for carp from the good ole days.
  13. That is one heck of a shooting stance. Guess that folded arm was like a shock absorber for the recoil.
  14. hipower now you have to tell us about the hornet incident.
  15. This is about self defense not an act of war. If you screw up possible jail time, back when in the Army before everything got so screwed up in combat not very likely to face punishment for doing your job, which was killing the enemy. Like I said before personal choice, I never carry a spare mag or extra cartridges for my revolvers. I try not to put myself into situations where there is not and exit.
  16. Not today mr. tax man. This siding was called brick siding, also came in a brown color.
  17. A good wine, some good cheese[ we're not talking kraft velvetta] and good bread go together for a nice relaxing atmosphere around my place. Wife and I used to do it quite often but seems not so much now, kinda miss that. Old age pretty much ruins everything.
  18. Prayers for you and family. Always keep a positive attitude and keep fighting. Cancer can be beat.
  19. Have a Interarms Walther ppk really like it. One of my carry guns, just don't shoot it much. Been following this from the Walther forum for a long time as when the new ones would be released, will believe it when I see it. As far as price on the older models check the prices on GunBrokers, they ain't cheap.
  20. After research on this model, may look at getting one for cc. Good, bad and the ugly opinions please. Arthritis creeping into my hands, making racking slides more difficult. Have no problem carrying 32's or 380 pistol as self defense guns. Wife's hand are worse than mine so would be a good night stand gun for her also. Really like the simplicity of the Tomcat model.
  21. Personal choice, every one has to decide what is right for them. In a self defense situation my first objective is looking for an exit from the situation, not a shoot out.
  22. Now that is funny.
  23. Just quoting what their web site had on it. Unless some one is doing a mass shooting why do you need that many rounds in a self defense gun?
  24. Saw a couple of moles out in my yard this morning paddling their small boat, trying to not drown from all the rain!!!! A little humor.
  25. Their web site says it has the same energy as the 45 acp, just skip the 9mm and use a 45!!!!!!
