  1. No don't remember about the rifle KharMan, threw away my bidding order list with the prices wrote down when leaving the auction, from 9 am to a little after four pm when I left, long day. The Remington-Rand 1911 a1 brought $1540. Was interested in the Rossi 22 pump{$363}, S&W 640 {$495} but did not bid on them. Have one of the Rossi's in 17 HMR which was bought for a tractor gun for coyotes but less than a box of shells through it. The ss models are hard to find. Had a lot of lever 30-30 guns. Lots of old ammo in boxes sold high. The 410 double brls all sold high.
  2. Attended the auction at Martin today, only one black assault rifle, mostly older blued and wood long guns. Some were in mint condition and sold pretty good. A few bargains and some real doozies. Some one on the internet paid over $800.00 dollars for a Mossburg short barrel home defender 12 ga pump.. The auctioneer ask him three times if he was sure he wanted to start the bidding that high for this particular gun and he said yes three times. Only bid and won some CCI 22 hp shorts. No Tupperware guns, only blued and ss. Sold some Red Ryder mint in the box bb guns for over a $100 on the internet, Auctions are always interesting.
  3. Just need to live your life, the only person you can control is the one looking back at you in the mirror. When your day to die arrives you will die. Or maybe just elect another democrat president and congress , they will take all those evil guns and everybody's safety will be assured, living in that utopia they claim will happen when the government controls every thing. No worries!!!!! Remember those four little words that stand between you and complete gov. control " Shall not be Infringed", not in any other part of the Constitution, only the Second Amendment.
  4. Was digging through some of my moulds last night and guess what, I do have a MP 359-640 2 cav Cramer style hollow point mould with all the pins. Cast 170 gr solid and a 158 gr hollow point. Remember buying some moulds on Cast Boolits last year but thought they were 45's. Will be casting some of the hollow points in the next week or so. Will be doing some experimenting with my alloy for expansion. Pb 98.29%,Sb 1.29%, will probably add 1% tin and go from there, or maybe use pure lead and just add some tin. Can shoot them in my Rossi 92 .357 mag. Never an end to this madness of making your own ammo.
  5. Right up the road from Martin. Going to a gun auction there Sat. { check out Marvin's auction at Alexander Auction and Real Estate, Martin.TN.} When are you making the move? Welcome and keep us informed when you get here.
  6. If you can get your hands on some hollow base wad cutters and powder coat them with a good polymer you do not need a gas check to prevent leading in the barrel. But you can only get so much velocity out of a revolver. Those Hornady 158 gr swchp could be driven faster if powder coated. I have no hollow point 38/357 moulds , only 44 and 45's, or would send you some to try. Anybody local that casts 38/357 hollow points that you know of, maybe they could help with experiment with different casting alloys. Where do you buy the Hornady 158 gr swchp boolits? Do you know the alloy used in the Hornady boolits?
  7. Could try loading the 158 gr lead hollow base backwards and see how they perform.
  8. All this talk about responsible gun owners means what exactly? No where in the United States Constitution or in any of the Amendments is anything about responsible gun owners. The Second Amendment tells us who can own a firearm and nothing about responsible ownership, and this ownership or possession shall not be infringed by government. This political crap is totally out of control and will probably result in a civil war 2 at some point in time. The public ,"government" education system has been broken for years and the reason no one is held responsible anymore. You are taught from pre-school forward that it is always some one else's fault. Don't believe this just happened by chance, took a lot of planning to get to this point. The lunatics are in charge of the asylum, God help us all.
  9. Alexander Auctions out of Martin, Tn is having a live and online gun auction on the 5 th March. Check them out. Two living estate gun auction with over 170 firearms . Already have several on my watch list.
  10. If you leave a firearm in your vehicle, which is an extension of your property "home". Will that carry over to the stealing a fire arm from your home also? Maybe we need to just let everbody steal or do what ever they want to do with no consciences. Sounds like what the democrats are advocating for illegals. Makes perfect sense to me. Vote democrat and keep supporting the lunatics.
  11. If you want clean shoes don't step in the crap!!!! Life is hard then you die!!! Not mine but very true, "I asked God to give me happiness, God said no, I gave you blessings, happiness is up to you." The grass always looks greener on the other side, but when you get there it's all the same.

    9 mm revolver

swim615 it was a you tube video with the shooter using a radar scope or what ever they are called. Looked at so many yesterday got bugged eyed.
  13. Agree blue heeler, had one once. Never could get it to heel always went for the head. Coydogs tails are usually long and fluffy hair.
  14. Great news of the new baby, hope and pray all will be well with new daughter and your physical problems. Was dismounting a tractor a coupe of weeks ago and thought my foot was on the bottom step, actually on the next to bottom and did that long step fall, had to do the drop and roll but came up laughing because how easy it is to miscalculate something you have done thousands of times, at 73 could have been bad.

    9 mm revolver

Have been doing research today and was surprised the difference in velocity of the 9mm Luger compared to 357 mag out of short barrel revolvers. The Ruger 101 9mm was higher vel. and kinetic energy than a Glock 43 shooting the same ammo. Was higher than the S & W 357 mag out of a Titanium revolver. Will definitely get one, have a lot of 9mm rounds that need shooting. Only 9mm Luger I have is a Walther P38. Probably go with the Ruger, moon clips are no problem for me, use them in my S&W Brazilians. Researching the Charter Arms Pit Bull, there seems to be some problems with ejecting fired empty brass. With the Ruger being about a $100 more than the Pit Bull. The 9mm ammo will always be available as about 60% of law enforcement use 9mm. Can also shoot wc and swc in the revolver. Molds that cast light weight 38 spl and 357 mag will mean plenty of cast to shoot in the 9mm.

    9 mm revolver

Thinking about getting a 9mm revolver. Needs to be ss, short barrel. what is a good buy? Taurus model 905 ss 2", or the Ruger sp101 ss 2.25, Charter arms Pitbull ss or there other short barrel 9mm revolver out there? Opinions, likes and dislikes. What say you?
  17. The problem with traffic cameras is, who ever the car is registered to, gets the ticket in the mail. My step daughter borrowed my jeep and one day a citation appeared in the mail with my name on it. Knew it could not have been me or my wife driving the jeep so good luck with trying to extort money from me. So the only ticket you should have to pay is the one that is handed to you from the officer that wrote it. Pretty sure that is called due process. Personally would like to see $1,000.00 fine for cell phone use while driving, the kind held up to your ear by hand.

    .38 super???

Have my brother-in-laws Dad's Colt in 38 super in my gun safe awaiting me to work up some loads for it. Have 500 pcs of Starline brass, need to get her done. Nice nickel Colt, will be passed on to me when brother-in-law passes, no body on his side of family wanted it. Sad for them.
  19. The work of casting, powder coating and loading my own personalized loads is a lot cheaper and more enjoyable than spending my money on factory loads which may or may not perform to my satisfaction. When the radical lefties get control of congress and put a "red flag" sin tax { remember cigarettes} on factory ammo shooting will get really expensive. Besides I just consider it a vital part of knowing how to survive, which will not be easy if shtf .

    Ruger 57

Would be interested in all ss model, no personal interest in a Tupperware model.
  21. Believe you can adjust the opening by bending the lip, or return the mag for a properly adjusted mag.
  22. My suggestion to anyone interested in casting their lead boolits is go to Castboolit forum and read some of the stickies first, and if possible try to find someone willing to mentor you, will cut the learning curve a lot. The other suggestion is to read the stickies on the types of lube for the cast boolits. I prefer powder coating myself, but many options are available. The simplest is the Lee tumble lube method. Some times I have cast as many as 1000 + in a session for stockpiling for when can no longer physically cast. With powder coating these will last for a lifetime. Brass is cheap now and is a good time to stockpile it for future use. Casting and reloading may become the next (red flag) in our quest to keep and bear arms fight against the enemies of the 2nd amendment. When you can no longer buy ammo at the local source, and interstate shipping and rationing ( as in California, just a matter of time until that spreads across the whole USA) is in place you will be sol unless you can roll your own.
  23. Friend stopped by yesterday , had attended an auction in Dresden on Sat. and won a Springfield Garand for $8oo, with some original ammo, said his son got a Mosin Nagant scoped sniper rifle, also got some ammo in original spam cans. Around here the old guys are the only ones interested in these old rifles anymore, all the young guy like the plastic black guns.
  24. This is all they have!!!!! Still waiting for the ground to start trembling from the earth shaking announcement.
  25. I heard from an unreliable source Glock will start mfging. real pistols out of metal!!!!!!!
