Only have a couple of 9mm Lugers, a P38 and a Charter Arms Pit Bull. Back when I got the P38 bought brass and jacketed bullet to reload, before got into casting. A lot of the 9mm ammo components are also used in loading .380 acp, 38 spl, 38 S&W, 357 mag, 38 Super. Cast, powder coat and size according to which caliber used. Most of the 95 gr thru 147 gr Truncated cone or round nose bullets will work in the P38 and can use round nose, wad cutters, tc, semi wad cutters in the Pit bull. Also load and shoot round balls in them. Casting and reloading allows many more loads that you cannot buy. You tweak each load until you find that sweet spot for them. Cheaper and a lot better than commercial ammo. Have a life time supply of brass, boolits, primers, and powder. Have several hundred pounds of lead to continue to cast and shoot. Also have a bullet trap to catch and recycle both jacketed and lead bullets. Once you get that initial expense of buying the reloading equipment, doesn't have to be a $1000 auto press, then all you need is to police your brass and replace expendable components to continue to shoot as much as you want too. The single stage Lee press is what I started with. Most straight walled brass can be reloaded until it splits, necked rifle brass and necked pistol brass will need to be annealed or it will get to be work hardened and split after just a few time reloading. You can also make and shoot shotshells in your 9mm by cutting .223 brass down or using the 9mm Mag brass. There will be no cheap commercial ammo until after the election and if Biden wins there will probably never be any cheap commercial ammunition again . Your guns are only wall hangers or clubs without ammo. Casting and reloading is only limited by your imagination as to what you can make, always keeping your safety in mind.

Been picking up more .224 dia bullets for my ar and bolt .223 guns when I find a good buy. Was thinking my HP38 powder was running out and after looking in my storage container have enough. Small rifle primers are hard to locate, seems everyone is sold out.

What is Tn law on felons using black powder firearms? Was told by a sheriffs investagator they could use them under Federal law. Saw a utube video of a felon in Florida that carried a short barrel bp revolver, said bp was legal for him to carry in Florida . Inquiring minds want to know if bp shooting for felons is legal in Tn under state law.

Ammo and or reloading supplies, components for making your own. Seems we may have the need to use it, if things keep on going the way they are. If the zealots don't accept the results of this Nov. elections like they did the last one could get pretty exciting around the big cities this fall and winter. Ammo will be a valuable commodity.

Still use those spinners on my tractor steering wheels, only need one hand to turn the wheel while using the other to operate joy stick or remote valve controls. Really handy when loading and moving large hay rolls or grading with the loader bucket.

Casting and reloading is another chapter in the book of guns and shooting sports. Not everyone has the time and patience for it. I have both. Also can make custom loads that you cannot buy. Shooting the walnut media loads at carpenter bees, shot shell loads for mr no shoulders and other vermin, double ball loads for my sd rounds in my snubbies, round ball loads for the 9mm revolvers, round ball loads in the 45 acp .The only limitation is your imagination and safety issues. Working up loads to fit the personality of a particular gun is fun and challenging. Since the inception of the hi-tec and powder coating of lead boolits , casting got simpler. What ever floats your boat and you enjoy is what you need to do. Ammunition is a commodity and the price will vary as the supply and demand cycle dictate. Some folks even reload the 22lr stuff.

The catalpa worms make excellent catfish bait also. They can eat the leaves off the tree and make them almost bare. Always our ritual of gathering the catalpa worms for our catfishing trip to Danville fishing off the rocks on the railroad levy.

Bo dock makes some great wood for woodturning. Have made several candy bowls and tops out of it. Made one walking stick for a riverboat gamblers hand cannon. Really hard to turn that small of dia without getting a lot of flex and vibration. Nice pistol gunstocks also. Pop Pop started making a portable metal pistol bullet trap last fall but got side tracked and need to finish it before hot weather. Age does slow the old body down even though the mind still thinks can continue doing hard physical work.

So is the ammo shortage over? Or is it like tp, some have ample stock and some don't? Have been waiting on a shipment of powder to Hulmes Sporting goods store in Paris for over a month now.

Will Carry did not know they made the pit bull in .380. They made it in the 9mm Federal rimmed cartridge but that was 25 years ago and finding the 9mm rimmed Federal brass or ammo is nearly impossible. Federal quit mfg the brass about the same time they quit making the revolvers for it. Would like to see the 45 acp pit bull also. Where did you buy the 9mm short{380} revolver? Was it stock item or special order? Have been casting several bullets to try in my 9mm Luger pit bull, including some hps. Waiting on a 6cav Lee mold 356402 now. Can powder coat them and use in 38/357 mag also. This could be another one of those rabbit holes could get lost in!!!!

Still haven't shot my 9mm pit bull. Have a lot of brass , powder and cast powder coated bullets to try. May even try a 158 gr. hollow point in it. Been busy casting hollow point boolits . Got to get some trigger finger exercise before long. If this thing works as it should , may learn to love the 9mm. Found load data for Lyman 358311, Unique 3.5 gr-4.5 gr for the 158 gr boolit oal. 1.169.

Read this morning that as many as 46% have the corona virus and show no symptoms, from testing done in Iceland. Makes me kinda suspicious of this whole pandemic thing. So we now have coronavirus Marys spreading this around and nobody knows who has it, and is an undetected carrier. Just gets better and better all the time. Not losing any sleep over the virus myself.

Just read an article that Scott & Webley had done a reboot in India. Article date 2-25-20 on Guns.com site. A new line of top breaks in 32 cal, even a 1911. Any interest in these old top breaks here? I have an Enfield 38 S & W. Have a mould to cast the 200 gr bullet for it but haven't gotten around to loading for it yet. Always liked the ugly rugged look of them. Like the short barrel tanker model also.

Still casting and powder coating boolits, bought more 9mm nickel brass Sat.{for my 9mm pit bull] and picked up a new powder [pistol power] Friday. Make my own no need to panic. Picked up 4500 22 lr at auction in Nov. at less than three cents ea. Got a couple of revolvers since the first of the year. Probably need to order some primers, and finish my bullet trap to recycle my lead. Dug through another storage box and found a few thousand more primers that had forgot about. Will check tomorrow at Hulmes Sporting Goods to see if their powder shipment came in.

Wish some body would make one in the 327 mag in stainless!!!!

Magtec makes a brass hull that is 2 1/2 in length I believe, they use a small rifle primer. Circle fly wad makes wads you can use for loading them. Have bored out the primer pockets to use shotgun primers for my 16 and 28 ga brass hulls, if you want something similar from that period. Love those old rabbit ear doubles. A lot of those old doubles were made for black powder loads. As a side note Ducks Unlimited at one time sold some commerative Remington headstamp brass 2 1/2 in shells, have a tin box of 12 gage that were made in Brazil for them and these were sold at WalMart. Mine were bought at online auction last year, but no information on what load is in them .
