  1. Never knew they had a wire pulling gel, we always used Johnsons baby powder. Learn something new on TGO all the time.
  2. I doubt Trump will get any of this done because of the Rino's in the Senate. Corker and Alexander being two of them.
  3. I bought a couple of spray bottles of Frankford arsenal sizing lubricant, alcohol and lanolin a few years ago, and after sizing several thousand 5.56 military brass only used about half a bottle. I put the brass in a quart size zip lock bag and spray three or four shots of lubricant in the bag and seal it up,  roll the brass around in the bag ,lube is in the air and will get inside of the case necks,I usually let them sit for a few minutes and dump them in a plastic bowl, then I put more brass in the empty zip lock bag and spray and seal, letting them coat while I size  the coated brass in the plastic bowl." Always let the alcohol evaporate before sizing". Usually put between 100 and 150 cases in zip lock bag. After use just seal empty bags and plastic bowls until needed again, cheap and clean. Also have done 7 mm Rem mag cases the same way. The more you use the zip lock bags the less spray needed because of the spray residue left in the bags. I use carbide sizing dies on my straight walled brass so no need for lube. I run the sized brass in my walnut media with a few drops of car wax if they are going in long term storage, or just in the walnut media if reloading soon. Also run the reloaded cartridges in walnut media with car wax before boxing up for long term storage.
  4. Saw a thread on cast boolit forum, guy shooting rice loads using bp revolver, guess you can smoke them to death if you miss them.
  5. Have shot more than 500 bee loads this year. Cool and wet, not as many bees out. Wife says I can't get any work done because of shooting bees.Using my Ruger security six, a couple of times reminded me of a good dove shoot, fast and furious.
  6. Sorry for your loss. May God be with you.
  7. You might try Bayou bullets, they have a Hi-Tek ,baked on liquid coating , instead of lube. I believe Federal is also selling coated lead ammo. With proper barrel fit, coated cast bullets will not smoke or lead your barrels. Can read about cast lead bullets at The Cast Boolit forum, you might decide to cast your own.Lot of information at this sight if you want to do research.
  8. Made a set of dies to load the 45 acp shot shells with a few years ago, and also made a set to load my bee killer loads with, both in 45acp, 45 colt and 38 spl 357 mag so there are lot more postives about reloading than negatives. I also load brass shot shells for my double barrel shotguns. Just got a couple of rb molds in Monday so will be casting .360 and .457 dia rb tomorrow while it is too wet to do anything else. Like Omega , have more components than will use in my life time, but will probably make some reloaders happy when my estate is sold.
  9. Not if you live in a log house. I use walnut media for carpenter bees and wasp. Years ago had a friend, Walt Riggs, that was origionally from Maryville that used a spray from the co-op for them, I believe it was Diazon, but believe it has since been outlawed, think it contained Dioxin. Walt passed away from cancer last year and was returned and buried in Maryville, don't know if the bee spray had anything to do with his death or not but seem to remember "agentt orange" had Dioxin in it. Maybe my memory is getting fuzzy like my eye sight, getting old kind of does this to you.
  10. My tumbler makes more noise than my vibrator does, but they are run in my basement so doesn't interfere with anything else.
  11. You guys got your bee killer loads ready?. I do most of my shooting now during the bee season.
  12. If you reload odd ball calibers, cost is signifant over factory loads. I have an old 41 Colt and the only way to shoot is to load for it. Small calibers .32 and .380 are also two that are cheaper to reload than factory ammo. I also cast and load in the pistol calibers .357 mag,.38special, 38 s&w,9 mm., 32, 380,45 colt,45 acp,44 mag,. revolver. With powder coating and hi-tek coatings cast bullets are as good as jacketed bullets. My advice , if you are young and want to have a lifetime of shooting and plinking, start collecting brass, lead, primers powder. My .22 's and .17 HMR are the only guns I have to buy ammo for.I buy jacketed bullets for my .223 and 7mm mag rifle, but you can cast and shoot lead in just about any caliber if you want too. Most straight walled brass will last a very long time if you take care of it and don't over flare and over crimp. Annealing makes rifle brass long lasting also. You can also use black powder in a lot of straight walled pistol and rifle brass. You can make your own black powder if it becomes necessary. Unless you are independentally wealthy, most folks have to work to earn money to support their shooting habits, Any time spent casting and reloading is more enjoyable to me than working to buy ammo. Your lifestyle may not be suited to do this, but this fits my lifestyle very well.
  13. Universal deprimer used before wet tumbling in stainless media. Clean primer pockets, shiney clean brass!!!!!
  14. Went to have my taxes done this morning and decided to stop and do my civic duty, hope you guys and gals do your civic duty also.
  15. Nothing is too big to fail.Being debt free is low stress living.Remember you have to live somewhere,so is it better to live in your own home,, or pay someone else to live there,[bank, mortage co.,rent]. Once you are debt free you will want to stay that way.
  16. Hello and welcome.  Contact your local conservation officer[ game warden] and he can tell you about any public land nearby. He can possibly put you in touch with private land owners also. I'm about 130 miles north east of Memphis and always enjoyed bird hunting but am to old to do the walking anymore. Mississippi should have some very good quail hunting also. You're not far from Ames Plantation where the bird dog field trials are held. Good luck.

    Ruger question

Old eyes. If it had a 6' barrel I could just knock them out of the air, no need to shoot them

    Walther TPH

Were the Walther Interarms mfged TPH pistols only in 22 cal or were some in 25 auto?

    Ruger question

Did Ruger make the speed six with a 6'' barrel? I know they made the service six with a 6' barrel, but it has adjustable sights, looking for some thing for point and shoot bee killer loads, in ss  to also shoot blackpowder crtgs also. Thanks
  20. Every gun has a sweet spot and the easiest way to find that sweet spot is by experminting with your loads. You can't always buy what you need in loaded rounds to work best in a particular gun. Some people just like to hear the gun go off, others like to put small holes in far away targets. No shortage of ammo if you cast and reload your own. I can stockpile a lot of ammo without tying up a lot of money. If you're thinking about starting to reload, components are cheaper now than they have been for a while. Buy in bulk, primers, bullets  , brass and powder. Brass is always good for scrap after you have got your use from it. If the nay sayer are right and hildabeast is elected president the crap is gonna hit the fan again, and ammo shortages will happen again, or there will be some stupid ammo taxes to cope with. Be prepared or face the conquences.
  21. It's your brass, you own it. Common courtesy police your area after shooting. My opion and I'm sticking to it.
  22. Looked at solar heating before built my house, this was probably used to duct heated liquid thru a heat sink[ rocks or other material to collect heat during daylight houurs] and then air would be pumped thru the sink for night time transfer of heat. Just never caught on.
  23. Are you a purist flyfisherman using the old split bamboo rods or do you use this new fangle fiberglass stuff?
  24. Going to order some next week from Powder Valley. Can load my 32 acp, 380 auto,38 spl, 357 mag, 45acp,45 colt, so I only need to stock one powder. Makes life simpler.
  25. Walther to begin mfg of the PPK and PPK/s in Arkansas in 2016?
