  1. 2011? My how time flies. I'm glad the website is still up and running.
  2. In my case, the light in my kitchen started struggling to come on when I flipped the switch. It kept getting slower and slower and then quit all together. Having no experience with this I assumed the bulbs burned out but it was actually the ballast. Now the lights in my master closet are doing the same thing. I'm guessing you have the same problem if they are 30 years old. I've been reading about this all morning and watching videos. It seems you have two options when converting to LED. Option 1) plug-n-play-this uses the existing ballast and no wiring is required but it requires more energy. Option 2) retrofit. This is what @macville mentioned and will involve removing the old ballast and will require wiring work. In your case, it sounds like you're going to have to wire something in regardless so if I were you, I would skip buying any new ballasts. The LED bulbs are expensive upfront but should cost less when on and will provide better light. The video below helped me.
  3. So the LED bulbs can use the existing fluorescent lamp holders? If that's the case, that does sound incredibly easy. I'll track down a simplified installation video. I found one where the guy swore it was easy but the video was 13 minutes long.
  4. I don't mean to sound smug but if I'm having to sell A to buy B it means that I really can't afford B.
  5. Welcome aboard! I drove through Erwin once. That's a pretty area. Do folks still talk about poor Mary?
  6. I just looked these up. Are yours wireless?
  7. @Dennis1209, I'd bet your lazy dogs barking might have been enough to scare them away which is good. It doesn't appear they were that determined to get inside. Thanks for sharing and giving a reminder to all of us so we don't get complacent.
  8. Well, I thought I would just convert the existing fixtures but based on the responses it sounds easier to replace the entire fixture. I'll probably go that route.
  9. Are you saying you tried 2 different bulbs but neither worked?
  10. My house is 15 years old and it seems all the ballasts are starting to go at the same time.. Has anyone gone to LED? I know they are more efficient and easier to maintain. Is it worth the hassle? Apparently picking the right LED bulb can also be tricky.
  11. Anyone using cordless battery powered trimmer yet? I'm pretty happy with this new WORX 40V I picked up. You'll still need gas if you want to cut the really thick stuff but for most jobs this will work. https://www.worx.com/40v-gt-trimmer-edger-wg180.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2cK0qfeA3AIVTiSBCh036wOEEAQYAiABEgKvOPD_BwE
  12. I had no idea how an impact driver was different than my cordless drill. Apparently I'm not the only one to ask this question. Now I want one!

    Sig P365

Good point. I don't mean to rain on his parade. I think it's a great design and I'm glad it's working for those here on TGO. I'm going to keep waiting on updates.

    Sig P365

I really want to like this gun. The capacity to size ratio is amazing but I'm going to wait and see if Sig can work out the bugs. MAC had his trigger reset spring break at 800 rounds. He procured a 2nd 365 and now this one is having different issues. It seems Sig is now shipping the 365's with a redesigned striker. It hasn't remedied the severe striker drag but I know that most people are not concerned by that. He seems to think it's abnormal.
  15. Both sides are quite good at inciting violence. Which side mowed down a crowd of people in Charlottesville?
  16. Sometimes I get the impression you guys think that the left are the only ones that play dirty. Have you forgotten that this is exactly what the GOP did after Scalia died? So, if this is in fact held up it will simply be a repeat of what McConnell did. I personally don't think they will have any issue getting the next justice appointed.
  17. One has to think that Ginsburg( nearly 86) and Breyer(nearly 80) can't be far behind.
  18. I didn't come away with the same impression that they were too hard on the NRA. Actually, I think a little tough love is healthy. Tiffany and Aqil shared how they are meeting new people that are interested in shooting but those same people want nothing to do with the NRA. Now maybe that aversion is deserved and maybe it isn't, but at minimum the NRA might want to reflect on what's causing that. The NRA does a lot of positive things that often get ignored. I think they could do a better job of promoting those things instead of putting people on screen that seem so angry. Their ability to drum up fear obviously leads to increased donations but I'm not sure it really helps our cause overall. Colion is a great addition but even he can come across a bit aggressive. The same could be said with Dana. Now, her message might resonate with us, but I doubt she's going to bring many new comers into the mix.
  19. Very cool. One of the YouTube channels I follow did a Scout restoration recently. It was from the same part of the country. This is random but be sure to catch their warning about mouse droppings in the vehicle from that area. It's actually in part 2 at 1 minute he talks about Henta Virus. Not trying to deter you, just want you and Blake to be aware.
  20. Nice work on this one. I've listened to 3 podcasts so far and this one is my favorite. I would encourage folks to listen before commenting.
  21. My bad. I thought it sounded familiar but it was a new article.
  22. https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/06/14/ruger-mark-iv-recalled/amp/ "Ruger recently discovered that all Mark IV™ pistols (including 22/45™ models) manufactured prior to June 1, 2017 have the potential to discharge unintentionally if the safety is not utilized correctly. In particular, if the trigger is pulled while the safety lever is midway between the “safe” and “fire” positions (that is, the safety is not fully engaged or fully disengaged), then the pistol may not fire when the trigger is pulled. However, if the trigger is released and the safety lever is then moved from the mid position to the “fire” position, the pistol may fire at that time"
  23. You guys miss the part about him going to the aid of others? It wasn't luck. The man died while trying to help others. That's a hero.
  24. I've never really been a huge bolt action guy but that is beautiful. You owe us better pictures though. The back of your International doesn't have the best lighting.
  25. Link not working for me.
