  1. I guess I'm not following. What is going to create the competition?
  2. I'm just not sure that's possible Greg. I knew a guy in college who broke his arm without having insurance. That's a moderate injury, but not what I would call catastrophic. The bill he got from the hospital was around $13,000. For most Americans, a bill like that would be catastrophic. My wife went to the ER in 2017. They ran a few tests, told her what they thought was wrong and sent her on her way. Just for being there 2 hours and running some tests they billed insurance several thousand dollars. It would have really hurt us financially. I can understand your reasoning on this but it seems to me that the hospitals and doctors office are completely raping both insurance and non-insured. Health care and health insurance is probably one of the biggest challenges we face. My wife is currently stuck an a horrible job that she hates. Part of the reason she hasn't left yet is because her company offers really good benefits, at least in this area. The health insurance for my company is insanely expensive and it's horrible coverage so we use hers. It's sad that health insurance has even become part of the discussion when searching for a better job.
  3. I just wish the Remy had the strap on the front grip like the Mossy does. That's such a short barrel. I'd rather my hand be secure.
  4. I have lived in Lenoir City off and on for over 20 years. I don't think I can ever recall meeting anyone that was a gun hating tree hugger. During the last election I think I saw exactly 1 Hillary sign in a yard. I live in the city limits but close to the county line. At least once a month I can hear someone target practicing. As long as you live in the county and have a safe backstop you can shoot on your own property. I can't think of any local ordinances regarding firearms. It's a pretty nice place to live overall.
  5. That's a lot of gun for under $400.
  6. I'm going to have to sit this one out or throw my vote on a 3rd party candidate again. I can't help but notice that no one in this thread listed a single accomplishment of Blackburn. I went to her website and it looks like a copy/paste from Trump's agenda.
  7. I can't help but wonder where all those rounds when on that residential street. If he had hit and killed an innocent bystander would there have been the same repercussions that a CCW holder would face? I doubt it. .
  8. I've known several people who have moved here from up North. They legitimately could not understand some people with a thick southern accent. I'd recommend watching Deliverance a few times to brush up on your country.
  9. New flashlights are just so much better than maglights in every concievable way and they really aren't that expensive. I couldn't imagine paying to upgrade one unless it was under $10. In their day they were the best but not today.
  10. It's wild to think that despite being missing 30 years they stayed in TN. Doesn't seem they traveled very far.
  11. I used Glen Cornell with Woody Creek Realty. He was great to work with. I'm sure everyone will have a different recommendation. The thing to be aware of is that the market in Knoxville(and much of the country) is moving really fast. A lot of houses are ending up with multiple offers and a bidding war scenario. Be prepared to move fast on a listing you like. http://woodycreekrealty.com/about-woody-creek-realty/ Call Glenn Cornell (865) 777-1700 or email glenn.cornell@woodycreekrealty.com
  12. For $30 did that include the LED bulbs as well? I spent $30 just on 2 bulbs alone last weekend.
  13. If you're going to bypass the ballast they call this retrofit. Look for LED tubes that say "no ballast" or something along those lines. From there, you can further narrow it down to LED tubes that have power at one end or both. That's really a personal choice. I just thought it was faster and easier to only rewire power to one end of the fixture. Also, you'll want to pick the "color" light you prefer. Some don't like the super bright daylight look and opt for the softer color. As I mentioned before, some come with the new hangers and some don't. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Utilitech-32-W-Equivalent-Bright-White-T8-LED-Tube-Light-Bulb/1000083437
  14. I understand the desire to clear your name but me thinks this probably could have been handled better via private message. I went to your post history and couldn't find when this was or what thread this happened in. If you're going to make this public, let's see what was said. I've known Chuckie a long time, he doesn't typically throw out baseless accusations.
  15. We're probably making some unfair assumptions about DrAlarms situation. Not everyone is in the position to refinance. Having said that. @dralarms, it would probably be a great idea to at least try to refinance. If analog Kidd is right(which I assume he is), you could basically cut your monthly payment in half. Or better yet, keep the same payment and pay it off in 1/2 the time. You would save thousands in interest.
  16. I'm lost, is the OP still going with the Jerico? I'm not as knowledgeable about guns as many here but I had never even heard of 41AE until this thread. In gun stores from TX-FL-TN and parts in between I have never seen this caliber ammo on a shelf.
  17. From Reddit.
  18. My wife spent a summer there. She really enjoyed Camden and Rockland. Honestly, the entire state looks beautiful. I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you venture. If I'm going that far, I'd probably have to visit NH as well. Let us know how you like it.
  19. I like those but I'm curious about "dual-end powered" in the description. That seems like more work if you have to run wires down to both ends. Let me know how the install goes. The LED's I got from Home Depot today only have power at one end. They also came with the non-shunted terminals so I didn't have to purchase those separately. Those of you that ordered online got a better deal but I wanted to buy local to make returns easy in case I wasn't happy with the color. I believe I'll order online for the next set.
  20. I bet the folks at Armed Equality might be down for a podcast if you guys decide to revisit this topic. I personally liked his closing argument as well. Hearts and minds are never won in the long term through force, insults, and ego clashes (see cognitive dissonance, fatal attribution error, confirmation bias, rationalization, and logical fallacies). We win the big picture, in the long term, by being shining examples of what we know we are: peaceful, protective, law-abiding, liberty-loving Americans. When we make it incredibly difficult for the anti-2A folk to locate firearm owners who are anything other than admirable, responsible, stand-up guys and gals…we win.
  21. That's typically my strategy as well. It's an added bonus that the garden center entrance is usually closer to the ammo counter as well.
  22. Every time I go to Wal-Mart I regret it. Sorry you had to deal with that.
  23. Stumbled across a relevant article worth sharing. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2018/07/piper-smith/why-demographic-specific-outreach-is-important-for-expanding-gun-rights/
  24. That's a lot of tacticool. I like it. What's the story on that Streamlight? I though I was up to date on my weapon lights but apparently not. Pretty sure they can spot my TLR-1 HD from space when I turn it on.
  25. I was wondering about that as well. At least they are really inexpensive. These are listed as non-shunted as the video recommended. https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/5314/SOCK-L13357U.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrLPSrtOK3AIVBYbICh3mBQcwEAQYAiABEgI_svD_BwE
