I swear, some of you had probably never heard of this country before this article yet you are convinced their trip was equivalent to storming the beach at Normandy. Statistically, they probably had a better chance of dying in a car wreck at home than being killed in Tajikistan. Not every country that ends in "stan" is a hell hole. To clarify, the ONLY reason I knew about Tajikistan is because I'm a nerd that likes to study maps.

Here is a fun fact for you. Tajikistan is no where near the top of the list for violent crime. Honestly, how often do you even hear of this country? Some of you are acting like they were biking through Iraq or Syria. It's actually a relatively safe country from what I can find. There are far more dangerous hoods here in the US of A. Until recently OSAC gave Tajikistan a level one travel advisory (the lowest level). Quite simply, there are far more dangerous places these people could have chosen. I guess those bikers killed in NYC recently also deserved to die...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_New_York_City_truck_attack Crime in Tajikistan and Dushanbe directed toward Western expatriates and foreign entities is relatively low https://www.osac.gov/Pages/ContentReportDetails.aspx?cid=23719

My wife and I recently discovered this on Showtime. I turned on the first episode with a lot of skepticism and assumed there would be a lot of talk about gun control. That is not the case at all. It covers these instances about as fairly as they could. Only twice so far has it briefly been mentioned and we've watched nearly every episode. One surgeon described the damage from an AR-15 round and questioned the legality and some detectives complained about 80% lowers being used in Santa Monica but that was it. They have many of the survivors on the show discussing what happened, how they survived, etc. They also had family members of some of the perpetrators which has been interesting. We rarely hear their story. The underlying theme has actually been mental health and or hate as in the case of Oak Creek WI and Charleston SC. The biggest take-away for me so far is that nearly every single person interviewed experienced Normalcy Bias. At first, their brain would not comprehend that those were gun shots. That's a lesson that my wife and I have taken from this. The key to survival may be reacting quickly and not ignoring what's obvious. I would encourage you all to try an episode if you have access. You may learn something.

I'm looking for some advice on how to get my gutters clean. My house is 14 years old and the white gutter/soffit are no longer a nice looking white. I've tried hitting them with the pressure washer but that only gets off some of the stains. I also tried a water/bleach mixture which didn't work either. Are there products that will make them look new again? Also, how much can I spray the soffit before I risk getting water up and behind it? I've been avoiding spraying the soffit with the pressure washer for that reason.

I'm no longer a member. I think I'll donate to the GOA instead. -

I really like those. That one looks different than the other pictures I've seen. I can't tell if it's just the lighting in your picture or if the slide has a coating on it?

It's probably fair that we at least acknowledge certain facts. Most of us were not born in, or will ever live in the ghetto. We simply don't know what it's like to live there. Being born in the ghetto absolutely puts someone at a huge disadvantage in life. Every aspect of their life is going to be more challenging than most of ours. Blame whomever you want, but it isn't the kids fault. To get out of that situation and become successful in life is going to take nothing short of a miracle. Systemic racism does exist. We know that not all police departments are doing the right thing. Look at what the DOJ found after investigating Ferguson PD. If you think a black person is going to be treated the same during a traffic stop as us, you're not being honest with yourself. I'm not saying every cop will treat them worse, but it does happen. I am fairly certain Philando Castile would be alive today if he were white. All that being said, there is something seriously broken in black communities and it's important we don't ignore the facts. From 1980 to 2008 52.5% of all murders were committed by black people even though they only represent 13% of the population. Even our poorest white neighborhoods(i.e trailer parks) don't see the level of violent crime as inner cities. 93% of all black people murdered are killed by members of the same race. Something is seriously wrong here and I have no idea how we could possibly fix it. I have very little faith there is any government program that could fix this but stopping the behaviors of certain police departments would certainly help. A friend of mine was a cop for 10 years and just recently quit. He told me last week that in order to catch the worst people in society you had to "violate their rights". Imagine how often that happens across the country. according to the US Department of Justice, African Americans accounted for 52.5% of all homicide offenders from 1980 to 2008, with whites 45.3% and "Other" 2.2%. The offending rate for African Americans was almost 8 times higher than whites, and the victim rate 6 times higher. Most homicides were intraracial, with 84% of white victims killed by whites, and 93% of African Americans victims were killed by African Americans.[49][50][51] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States

I just found out my dad stopped taking his blood thinners for the exact same reason. He was afraid he was going to bleed to death from a paper cut. That being said, he stopped without talking to his doctor and started having chest pains. Not the smartest decision. Be safe.

On 3D guns? I think it's awesome. The technology is limited now but will improve. As its been pointed out, its always been legal to make guns at home. Good luck to these people if they think they can regulate the internet. -

Mike, you know that if a democratic president had tweeted out the same thing you'd be criticizing them as well. We can argue that Trump just likes to get out his daily word diarrhea but he shouldn't always get a pass. -

So are pink pistols, Derringers and the Mossberg Chainsaw. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be allowed to own them. Shall Trump "look into" those as well? -
