  1. Does anyone know where I can go to get the prints done the old-school way? I'm trying to renew my Florida permit and they are making me send back fingerprints on paper. I've called several places but they only offer the method where they are scanned. thanks
  2. The family was right, had this been any other person they would have been charged immediately. Better late than never I suppose.
  3. I'm wondering if she was intoxicated. I can't understand how she could make a mistake this badly. The key not working should have been the first indication. Apparently he eventually opened the door for her and that's when he was shot.
  4. The woman that posted these is a medical examiner. She doesn't post fake things but this was sent to her from someone else so I suppose they could have lied. Either way, be safe out there.
  5. Yoga pants are my favorite invention of all time.
  6. For any of the East TN members I would recommend watching his latest movie that was filmed around Knoxville. The movie wasn't great but it was neat seeing the local spots in the film. It was called The Last Movie Star.
  7. a .357 at point blank range? Seems plausible to me honestly. That's a lot of energy going into a small body part. It didn't actually blow the hand off but there was enough tissue damage to prevent saving most of the hand. I think we had a member that lost a foot after shooting himself with a .357 Someone with a better memory can confirm.
  8. I saw this and thought we could all use this guys mistake as a reminder of what not to do. The caption says the guy was cleaning his .357 and shot himself. Lost everything but his thumb. Hard to imagine screwing up this badly with a revolver.
  9. A friend of mine solved his coyote problem when he got a Great Pyrenees. The dog stays in the pen with the goats but has been enough of a deterrent apparently. I will say though that it's kinda cruel for the dog that never gets any attention. Not much different than the folks that chain their dog up outside. I know we have a lot of expert hunters here that will chime in but I think trapping works well too.

Is Smyrna or Murfreesboro too far to drive? I just checked and the company I work for has various openings in those cities. PM me if you're interested and I'll see what info I can find out.

How many people can afford to stick around very long on $11/hour? Even chick fil a in my town is starting folks out at $12/hour.
  12. Personally, I would have preferred to just drive around the guy or back up. Seems like a clear cut case of self defense though.
  13. It helps when you post a link. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/08/30/balloon-london-mayor-wearing-yellow-bikini-to-fly-over-city-in-response-to-trump-baby-blimp.html
  14. People in Polk county don't mess around. It's mostly made up of old Florida crackers. The Sheriff is indeed very popular from what I recall. I enjoyed living near him and hearing all the stories.
  15. This is Polk County FL, home to the famous Sheriff Grady Judd. He is about as pro-self defense and anti political correctness as it gets. Back in 2006 his deputies shot a cop-killer 68 times. When questioned by reporters about the # of shots fired he responded: “That’s all the bullets we had or we would have shot him more.”
  16. I'm not a huge fan but a lot of people swear by the Remora type holsters. Your pants would need to be tight enough to keep the pistol against your body. I've done this occasionally but it's been with a lighter, single-stack pistol. https://www.remoraholsterstore.com/
  17. I'm really sorry to hear about your cancer. I couldn't imagine going through that. Can you elaborate on just what it is you're looking for in a holster? Many of us carry a Glock 19 so I'm sure we can come up with ideas. From what I gathered you need a holster that doesn't require a belt because you can't use one. Is that the only criteria?
  18. Even NPR can be objective once in while. "How many times per year does a gun go off in an American school? We should know. But we don't. This spring the U.S. Education Department reported that in the 2015-2016 school year, "nearly 240 schools ... reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting." The number is far higher than most other estimates. But NPR reached out to every one of those schools repeatedly over the course of three months and found that more than two-thirds of these reported incidents never happened. Child Trends, a nonpartisan nonprofit research organization, assisted NPR in analyzing data from the government's Civil Rights Data Collection. We were able to confirm just 11 reported incidents, either directly with schools or through media reports." https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2018/08/27/640323347/the-school-shootings-that-werent
  19. I'm pretty sure it was XXXXXTRIGGERMAN or something like that.
  20. A judge has extended the ban. The judge also said Defense Distributed’s First Amendment concerns were “dwarfed” by the states’ safety considerations. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-court-guns/u-s-judge-extends-ban-of-online-3-d-printed-gun-blueprints-idUSKCN1LC1UF Cody was right.
