A big win for Defense Distributed!
Erik88 replied to gregintenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Cody Wilson has been charged with the sexual assault of a 16 year old girl. I certainly hope this is not true but it definitely looks bad. https://www.kvue.com/mobile/article/news/local/austin-man-behind-3d-printed-gun-company-accused-of-sexually-assaulting-girl-before-leaving-us/269-591851213 -
I don't think the ones that own and carry guns are calling for confiscation. These are mostly the moderates. I don't think many of the hardcore anti-gun crowd own weapons. I'm sure there are hypocrites scattered throughout the group though.

You used an awesome glitch mob song in that labor day video. I enjoyed it!

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/conceal-carry-permits-surge-to-18-million-democrats-rush-to-get-too Some interesting numbers in this article. Sorry about the font. I'm not able to fix on my phone. A nation on edge has driven a surge in concealed carry gun licenses, but those getting them aren’t the usual suspects. According to the United States Concealed Carry Association, which trains and insures those legally allowed to pack heat, there are now some 18 million with permits, up from 11 million four years ago. Founder and President Tim Schmidt estimates that up to 40 percent of his 300,000 members are Democrats. What’s more, he said that of another three million who have sought information from his group, half are Democrat.

Can you expand on this E? I don't understand what's happening.

Mike is good people. Those look great.

I have no idea what's being discussed in this thread.

It was severe enough to come in by helicopter and force everyone out but not enough to put real security there to guard it. That is odd to me. So maybe it was a threat to the workers and there was nothing inside sensitive enough to guard.

I knew that wasn't her in the picture. That girl was too thick to be the cop and doesn't look like her in the face. Now the noise complaints are another story. That could be possible. Police are already trying to smear the victim by saying he had weed in his apartment. I don't care if he had kilos of Cocaine and a dead hooker. It has nothing to do with this case. It's a sad shameful attempt by the cops to make him look bad.

Does anyone have a link? How much are they?

Where to get fingerprinted with ink
Erik88 replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You're fine with a TN permit. I'm going to renew just in case we ever move back. The job market for my field isn't great here Knoxville. It's worth the money to avoid the hassle later. It's good for 7 years and a lot can happen in that time. -

That's interesting. I was not aware. LCSO was very reluctant to help me when I called yesterday. She insisted they don't fingerprint for carry permits but I explained it was for a FL permit and she suddenly changed her mind. Some UPS Stores offer that service but the nearest one is in Powell. I'd like to find another place that can scan them onto the card like you mention. -
I must be on more folks ignore list than I realized. People keep posting the same things I've already shared.

Especially after a 15 hour shift.

That was apparently wrong info. Here is what I posted above "Guyger put her key in the unlocked door and it opened, the official said"
-
Edit-that info was wrong. New info is out. "The official, who spoke to the Dallas Morning News on condition of anonymity, said Officer Amber Guyger had just ended a 15-hour shift when she parked on the fourth level of the South Side Flats garage Thursday night. She normally parked on the third level. The officials said Guyger, a four-year veteran of the force, then went to the door she thought was hers but was one floor too high. Guyger didn’t notice that Jean's door had a red doormat, the official said told the Morning News. Guyger put her key in the unlocked door and it opened, the official said. The official said Guyer told investigators she entered the dark apartment, saw someone inside and thought it was a burglary. Guyger said she pulled her gun and fired twice, the officials said." It's interesting that they mention the door mat as that was something I was wondering about as well. 15 hours is a long shift. I'm sure exhaustion played a role here. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/09/10/amber-guyger-dallas-officer-burglar/1254789002/

Oh I agree. It's a horrible situation. I'm sure she truly believed this guy was in her apartment. I wonder if she still had a bodycam and if it was on. I'd like to know what happened once the door was opened.

I'm sure this is exactly the argument her lawyers will make.

My house got shot up last night, by an idiot with an airgun
Erik88 replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Training Discussions
My parents had a very similar situation happen to them in Knoxville late one night. They heard something hitting the house and looked out to see a laser up on the hill pointing down at them. Not having any idea what was going on they called KPD who took the call very seriously. Multiple officers showed up and found evidence of someone shooting airsoft pellets. I don't think they caught the kids/persons responsible. They were luckier than you though and didn't have any damage. Hopefully the kid learns a valuable lesson. -
Where to get fingerprinted with ink

The PD wouldn't help me but since you mentioned it again I thought I'd try the SD. They offer services twice a week. I should have thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion! -
My word. Do you always jump to such drastic conclusions? You could have made a career in the news business.

Does anyone know where I can go to get the prints done the old-school way? I'm trying to renew my Florida permit and they are making me send back fingerprints on paper. I've called several places but they only offer the method where they are scanned. thanks

The family was right, had this been any other person they would have been charged immediately. Better late than never I suppose.
