A brand new LCP is selling for under $200. I've seen them as low as $180 I think. I can't see any purpose in trying to sell a gun that would only bring in maybe $175 used. Keep it, you never know when you might be in a position that requires deep concealment.

I don't think so but it could be. I read the perp was a guy living on their property doing work for them. No idea why he shot them.

It appears we might have the first known case of the ATF going after someone for their AR15 pistol with brace. There is a lot to dig through here and not all of it is very clear. It seems the ATF convinced the US attorneys office to prosecute this man either for having a forward grip on his AR15 pistol or having the brace, or both. I'm going to pull out a few highlights but there is more in the link. "The critical issue in this case will not be possession, registration (or lack thereof), or barrel length. Ultimately, the primary issue in dispute at trial will be whether or not Kelland Wright’s firearm meets the definition of a “rifle,” that is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder, see 26 U.S.C. § 5845(a). Part of this issue will center on the implications modifications that Kelland Wright made or had made to the firearm, including the addition of an extension piece to the rear of the firearm. Wright’s expert, Richard Vasquez, is expected to testify that the extension piece functions as a cheek rest. The Government’s expert, Firearms Enforcement Officer Eve E. Eisenbise, is expected to testify that the extension piece makes the firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder. Officer Eisenbise is an employee of the ATF FATD. Richard Vasquez formerly was employed by the FATD. The relevant issues at trial relate to the specifics of Wright’s firearm, an AR pistol platform that was modified with an angled foregrip and collapsible stock." Here is the part that gets really interesting. Remember those letters that were circulated from the ATF saying there was nothing wrong with shouldering the brace? It appears the ATF is trying to keep those from being used in this case. "When you review the Motion in Limine, you quickly learn that the Government is seeking to preclude ATF FATD (Firearms and Ammunition Technology Division) determinations from being used in any way during trial For the reasons that follow, I find it extremely comical that the Government actually contended that “ATF FATD letters at trial creates a grave risk of confusing the issues and misleading the jury,” "Thankfully, after only deliberating for a very short time over lunch, the jurors came back with a verdict of not guilty. However, Mr. Wright has likely incurred tens of thousands of dollars of attorney fees and costs fighting for his freedom – all because ATF decided that it would invent a new interpretation of the law and it did so without notifying the Industry or the public. Let that sink in for a couple minutes…" https://blog.princelaw.com/2018/10/28/atf-unhinged-prosecutions-made-up-out-of-whole-cloth-you-might-be-next/

Do you have a garage you can park in? I notice most of my neighbors have their garage so full of "stuff" they have to park outside. Garage parking would alleviate some of the worry. Sorry this happened to you.

I found a surprisingly fair article from Europe of all places. https://www.euronews.com/2018/10/28/what-are-ar-15-rifles-and-why-are-they-used-so-often-in-us-mass-shootings-euronews-answers

What is your chosen Self Defense ammo
Erik88 replied to Ronald_55's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Gold Dots. Typically 124+p or 230gr in 45. There are dozens of videos online about the effectiveness of that round. Check out the @tnoutdoors9 channel. -
I didn't look closely, did he really chop off his pecker?

I had a guy in Portland hit me up for my leftovers. He was sitting outisde a delicious restaurant. I thought it was a brilliant strategy and told him that. He didn't even look homeless, just a broke hipster I think.

This part struck me as interesting. Does this sound like your typical NRA member or gun rights activist? No. Yet here he is doing his best to stand up for our rights. This is a good example of why @TGO David made that podcast earlier this year. We might be surprised who our allies are. As for this law, I thought this is what the Supreme Court struck down in Chicago some years back. I can't see how this will hold up in court.

How about a vintage gun video. Back when you could order a truck and get a Winchester model 94

We have a 2012 Rav4 with 100k. The only issue we've had is a slow leak at the rear main seal which I admit is disappointing. It's nearly $2k to fix so we're leaving it for now. I'd probably buy another one though. We average 27-28 mpg on road trips and the newer ones do even better from what I've read. The new 2019 Rav4 is a complete redesign that looks nice. You could probably score a good deal on a 2018 close out as well.

The cannon was fired multiple times. We were in a really rural area but we made so much noise a deputy eventually showed up. He seemed more curious than concerned.

We put a lot of rounds into that vehicle. I'm trying remember, was that 2010? I know we were near lewisburg but can't recall the exact month and year. Good times!

@volshayes, we've got to work on your copy paste.

I agree. I'm happy he's still kicking ass at 88. The trailer looks solid.

Where to get fingerprinted with ink
Erik88 replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, the prints looked horrible but Florida cashed my check so hopefully that's a good sign. I'll find out soon enough. -
My bad, I knew that but posted it in the wrong thread.

A 74 year old Vietnam vet. Why can't these people just kill themselves?

It was apparently an elderly man. He was taken into custody.(age not yet confirmed) Now saying 7 shot. Seven law enforcement officers were shot, one fatally, during a standoff in Florence, South Carolina on Wednesday, Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler said. Florence County Sheriff's deputies were executing a search warrant when the suspected shooter opened fire, authorities said.

I wonder how long these guys will remain in "evidence" now. Years for sure.
