  1. You stole my words. I don't understand it at all.
  2. For them to be broke it's hard to imagine how poorly managed the NRA must be, when you consider how much money they have raised over the past decade. I can't even really feel any sympathy. Oddly, I did get a fundraising call from them this week for the first time in months. Hung up on the guy like usual after he rattled off something about Nancy Pelosi. I guesd their usual scare tactics still resonate with someone.
  3. This is already happening. There are innocent people on death row as I type this.
  4. Don't forget the guy who was shot to death on his front porch after being Swatted by another person. He was unarmed. Apparently, you can simply move your hand and by shot to death, with zero repercussions for the officer. "Justin Rapp, Officer, Wichita Police Department; originally stated he believed Finch had a gun, but testified in May 2018 that he merely saw Finch make a motion with his hand" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Wichita_swatting
  5. Yeah, we tried all the tricks. Tractor Supply actually sells a shampoo made specifically for this and it works pretty well. The first time it happened we took both dogs to Pet Smart to get groomed and they got 95% of the smell out. It has happened 3 times total, two of those being this summer. I hate skunks.
  6. @ShaggyRS6, I wish I had advice for you but I'm dealing with this as well. I live in the city limits and my dogs have been sprayed twice this summer. It's horrible. I can't legally shoot them and I have no way of trapping and drowning them as suggested. I've been on a mission to secure my fenced in backyard and smelt another one of the bastards two nights ago trying to infiltrate. I think they are attracted to the apple tree in my backyard. You have no idea how difficult it is to get skunk smell out of Siberian Husky fur. I'm hoping she learned her lesson after getting a tomato paste bath.
  7. He's near Crab Orchard/Crossville. It's a great class for anyone considering it. You'll learn a lot if you take good notes.
  8. Are you retired? I could see it being a nice quiet place to settle during retirement but if you plan on working you will have a really hard time finding employment. Chattanooga would be a 80 mile commute round trip. Dunlap is going to be very pretty with mostly friendly people but also very poor and the nicest restaurant appears to be a few Mexican joints. Your only choice for groceries will be a Save-A-Lot and a Wal-Mart. Are you both healthy? If not, you'll likely have a pretty far drive to receive good medical care of any kind. These are some things I would consider.
  9. That's fair. I hope he does not. There is no need to cave on this as I can't find any evidence the GOP is pressuring him to do this. This is a self inflicted wound on his part. I'm hoping he's just blowing smoke up our asses. Here are his latest words.
  10. I'm actually hoping Basil will run.
  11. That's fine. That doesn't mean he is right all the time. If you like his policies or think he's doing a great job that doesn't mean you have to agree with him even when he's quite clearly wrong. How does Trump benefit by coming out in support of additional background checks? I guess the only thing I can think of is that even if he gives us universal background checks then we know most gun owners are still going to vote for him. Most of you would rather cut off your johnson than vote for a Democrat.
  12. Trump could do an executive order outlawing private sales and it seems you'd still defend him. I've never seen such unwavering support for a politician. He always has a choice. You really think his base wants universal background checks? Not a chance. The Democratic voters of America might want it but they will never vote for him. He gains absolutely nothing by coming out in support of this. I'm not sure why you continue to cover for him.
  13. This is different from the woman he killed in order to originally escape? If so, I wonder if this is a guard in the prison he was in. Maybe he targeted her? That's terrible. Edit-I think you are referring to the original murder/escape which is listed in the first post.
  14. Joe Biden-76 Donald Trump-73 Where do you draw the line here?
  15. How is this guy still sucking air? I expected to wake up today and see he was killed.
  16. Hopefully he will take the room temperature challenge.
  17. x3. I read they shot him within 30 seconds of him opening fire. Sadly, that was still enough time to kill 9 people.
  18. I normally avoid indoor ranges but I agree with you on this one. It's a nice place. I went to school with one of the employees(Johnny). He's a great guy and knows his stuff too. I took 3 friends from Spain shooting at this range and they had a fantastic time. I've never had a bad experience there and all the staff bend over backwards to help.
  19. I agree with you but I can't help but laugh at this considering our current President. The two of them could argue in circle for hours. I actually look forward to the debates.
  20. I think you're correct but I cannot think of a way to stop this without infringing on everyone. Unless you were to ban all guns, and confiscate every gun from every household, this will never stop. Even then, you'd only find maybe half of all guns out there, at best. I think where we screw up is that we always blame "mental illness" but fail to actually do anything about it such as additional funding. The same people calling this mental illness suddenly get very defensive and start screaming about "socialism" if you mention funding these programs. It's pretty clear we need to create more programs for people that need help. This is going to cost money.
  21. Is that really a risk we want to take? What if they vote yes? That is a no win situation. If it passes we now have universal background checks. If it doesn't pass you get no wall and no immigration reform. I guess that is great negotiation...
  22. HE SAID AS MUCH IN HIS TWITTER POST!! It's the "art of the deal" I guess...
  23. No, Trump has a long history of favoring gun control. He only changed his stance before he decided to run for office. He has supported of a variety of gun control measures including an assault weapon ban. Here is his latest words of wisdom. Again, Trump doesn't have to do any of this. We all know he only does what he wants. All this does is piss off his supporters.
